So about the double CD thing, this was an idea, and as long as we don't know the financial whereabouts it's hard to issue a go/no-go for that idea. Anoebis is taking care of it. Personally I think it's a good idea but can a new label afford that, is its renoun enough to make people to buy double cds ? Filteria is now Infected Vegetarians but why not ?

I understand perfectly this concept but it implies 2 things : - People don't usually give away money like that. It means there will be naturally less tracks submitted. - it makes the contest selective, that is available to those who have money. ok it's not much but it's like getting in some high schools. This is not fair anymore then... In my opinion this concept is doable but hard to do. To Moni : yes you knew this kind of answer would appear, but that's a fact. If you give me >2000€ i will launch the contest tomorrow ! First if our compil diesnt sell fast and wel, i dont even know if we'll be financially able to release the next album in the delays we have in mind. So you see.... I suggest that we COULD open a contest in september. Before that, i cannot guarantee anything.

Ok i saw Anoebis reply and i guessed he would say like that. For me the 2 main problems are : time and money If like anoebis says the contest runs till december, i wouldnt open it before september 1st or people will get bored with it. 4 months is already faaar enough. Or there is another possibility : Filteria seems to be fast on producing right now he might be ready for a second album fast, which would leave his former slot open (the end of the year). But it also means we would have 2 abums launched in a very short while. Can we do it financially ? Huh...i don't think so. I think we'd need to setup a new release party or something... The other aspect is money, but linked with the audience. Labels already hardly sell cds, so i wonder how would sell a compil with only unknown artists. Well ok a 500 copies press could be nice for everyone. Eventually i am torn between the pleasure to release talented new artists, and the need to keep Suntrip healthy. So what i don't want it to loose money on a contest compil. That's as simple as that.

Hi Well it's a good idea, but i have a few things that prevent me from doing this for the moment : 1) time, yes always (NO) time. 2) i am trying to separate as much as posible my psynews and suntrip activities. using psynews to make a new suntrip compilation could be misinterpreted...but i don't care if you don't either. 3) we have a compilation ready now. it will be released before june if we're lucky or at the very begining of june if my dear distrib gives me a GO. 4) after that compilation we have 2 artist albums in mind...so when is our next compil ? not mentionning that we can only release cds one by one, our budget is quite low. if we had to release a contest compil it would be a 500 copies one. After all, i am FOR the contest reopening, but i'd need help and much thought about how/when to release it. Let's say a contest needs 2-3 months. in 2-3 months, we'd be at the end of june or july. Then jury, marking, various negociations (all during the summer, when nobody is here), and then we'd be at the end of august. releasing a tracklisting that's ready takes 2 months. we'd be at the end of october. That's not bad but there is the summer in the middle and it goes against our plans. I wonder what Jos thinks about it, but i think i have an idea... I don't know what to tell you for the moment. I'd like but i'm not sure we CAN do it timewise and moneywise. mars.

No way man. Psynews is somewhat one of the oldschoolers' lair and that's why people like Filteria here. But i don't want to merge Suntrip and Psynews in any way. Psynews is a community, Suntrip is a label. One way or another, when you're deeply involved into something you touch several aspect of that thing, and that's what's happening to Anoebis and I. Else i think Filteria is very talented (i mean a real musician) that's why i helped producing him. No more. At Suntrip we are only trying to produce good PSYCHEDELIC music, no overheard Full on or senseless boomboom. You'll see with our second release coming soon anyway ? I guess you like to fly ?? hmm ?

Three things : - Pleiadians as they used to be, are dead. If you want music like that, you listen to their 2 albums again and again or search for artists sounding mad and melodic too. - In my opinion Filteria music is quite different from Pleiadians. OK this is close, but the aim was not to copy them. Let this guy make his style, enjoy making music. Not so many people are able to make music. - There is no hype. I am his label manager. And i am the admin of Psynews. So ok i happen to use psynews as a vector of communication. But we wish there would be more hype in other parts of the world. mars.

Look, i'm just back from skiing holidays, i tried several things to atempt to trip on the mountains. some albums were too flat, others too strong for the white valley, but THIS album just fitted, like it was born from it. I'm happy to read all that. There are no real bad critics on this album. And sometimes, critics end up on comparing Sky Input with IFO, which is something any label manager would dream of I have 4 things to add : - We put LOTS of efforts producing this album, so please all of you guys be so honest as to buy it. You can get it through lots of stores, and also on suntriprecords.com - We are trying to summon new forces to produce a compilation next. Hard stuff, believe me...but i guess there will be some Filteria on it and many surprises ! - We are organizing a (private)label-party with Filteria in less than 2 months. Other great Djs will be here too. It's amazing, i just looked in my collection and relized i had bought scores of cds this year, mainly oldies, but SO FEW compilations ! (the number is less than 2) However there is one that's in my toBuy list : the new Iboga's "Playground" which i think is wonderful !!!
