Hello I will upgrade the psynews-basement server tonight or tomorrow. My beloved old P2-400 192Ram from 1998 must be retired now. I'l give it to a friend of mine who will set up his own linux webserver box. The server will be replaced by my current machine, an unbreakable 2-years-old Athlon 1400 Mhz, 512Ram. It will be enough to serve anything. All softwares will be replaced by their latest version (apache, mysql, php) and the OS will still be the-custommized-WinXP-Pro-of-mine-even-Blaster-couldn't-shutdown You know all, so prepare for a dead link for a few hours. That's amazing, i read the essay on this site yesterday, and i was also surprised to see a reference to this FLK song. Imo that's a matter of tastes to qualify it as psytrance or not. we are swimming into massive subjectiveness in this post )) Being already into techno musics by 1990, i think there were psy influences all around the scenes in the early 90's. More than influences, actually : early Juno reactor or SFX are good examples. Personnally i see no offical psy music before 1991. The official (commercial) begining being in 1993. Before that...hmmm hard to tell. In france, the first parties organized by TBE (a big psy parties organizer here) were in 1990...i saw the flyers. I heard some recordings of some sets and it was mainly a gathering of several tracks selected for their "special" content. Very subjective too. Well, even Yello guys from CH had psy influences...they are older than KLF. I should listen to them again and watch the releases dates to tell. I havent the cds here, so if anyone has a fresher remembering about their releases...don't hesistate.

PART1 ==== hello guys. just to tell you 'im working on it....reworking would be the good term as i'm rewriting some parts. php is not a structured enough language for me and it makes problems in super ultra complex modules like the community / login / account ones...Real oriented object language would be better with such a complexity. i took heavy decisions so as to have a more maintenable and debuggable site. IF you had to make some psytrance cgenres lassification, something evolutive, something reliable, how would you do ??? I see you people, there in the background saying "hey but some albums can't be put in any case, or share several"....right, i know, i share that point, i do agree, BUT for some reasons, some classification like that must be implemented in the site, *internally*. The visitor won't see anything of it. I wanted to keep this secret, but when my girlfriend saw what i had done for psynews 2, she told me it was not complete, so i realized the difficulty of the task, so i told her she would be in charge, and it will be the case. Howerver, no matter how confidence i put in her, and no matter how pertinent can be her analysis, i'd like her to have YOUR views, you old'chaps of psytrance. Hopefuly, the result will be a compilation of the best ideas and concepts. I know this is a, eternal burning subject BUT i don't want any flamming here. All relevant and constructive ideas are welcome. I think the final aim is to build some kind of (evolutive) list of genres and styles a bit one-size-fits-all...hard task. Some examples sets should also be built so as to check the model validity (examples : Shpongle, Dimension 5, Battle buddhas, Logic Bomb, Delta, MOS, Astrix, Synchro, Native Radio, 1200µ, etc etc etc albums could be confronted to this model..this is infinite. Firgo : the "recommended" red-label on the albums' listing was something very hard to determine and maintain. I may also add that opinions about an album change a lot after some months/years. So not only Etnica, but lots of other artists deserve to be marked as recommended (imo). We have planned a solution to have a reliable "global favourites". you'll see later...one day..you know...when psynews2 blabla ))

hey guys i got some news : i got the flyer of the Etnica vs Pleiadians party in London on sept 27th, and it's written on it that they will present the tracks for their new Pleiadians album : "Explores" , on Etnicanet !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So there WILL be a 3rd Pleiadians album. Btw you will remark that etnicanet.net is offline since a few days....let's hope for fresh news on it when it's back again
