  1. good on you! I'm so happy for ya
  2. noooo tribal trance! Look, the challenge is this: people who are not usually chillout dj's sometimes spoil the chillout by wanting to play too much prog or goa or even full on trance, but I really want to avoid that. I am looking for that borderline between chillout and danceable stuff and even then; preferably stuff that's not too closely associated with the whole psy-scene. I mean, psychill and progressive psytrance are the usual suspects. I want more obscure stuff and opinions! What would you consider moving to in a chillout? I know it's a hard question to answer because most people come to the chillout to chill, but IMO it's worth an experiment. It won't work in every chillout of course, but I'd love to give it a try

  4. Pedro is indeed the man! I've got a +30 email conversation with him as of yet and everything has been nothing but smooth all the way. As soon as my payment was in, he sent me the stuff which arrived in totally good condition not even a week later. Awesom-o! Very much recommended. Ehm, as a matter of fact: the second order is on its way already.

    HOW!?

  7. You are quite right, but the best livesets in chillouts I have seen were usually a more upbeat version of their albums. That's what I loved about it, the versatility. By the way, I have heard great stories about Waterjuice's livesets, but their albums are a little too empty for me. Would love to see them live though... Any thoughts about what kind of music in general you love dancing and chilling to ? Genre-wise, I mean? Btw: I recently bought Dubnology: Journeys into Outer Bass and Lost in Bass which are fusions between electronic and dubby stuff, most of which I find will suit a danceable set quite nicely. Opinions?
  8. Hahahaha, I remember that TF video from some time ago. Hilarious. Got me listening to Texas Faggott in the middle of a sunny day. Hooray!
  9. Oh and thanks for all the recommendations! Anyone happen to know of an affordable place where I can clone myself a few times so I have enough time to listen to everything? Goddammit, this is one hell of a hobby I tell ya. Right now I'm listening to artists like Andy Stott, Bola, Kettel, Sutekh, Twerk and stuff from Mille Plateaux lable. Man, there's so much stuff out there. I guess I'm looking for something more or less broken, qua beats. Not that standard 4/4 is alright too and more idm-ish random-ish beats too. As long as it's not at all predictable and my problem with progressive psytrance and psychill is that most of it is rather predictable. As you see, I'm making it all the harder for myself... but on the other hand: I'm discovering a whole new league of music. But still: so much music, such little time. Aaargh! [edit] more jazzy, funky stuff is also greatly appreciated. You know, along the lines of Ninja Tune, Amon Tobin's more danceable stuff, Funki Porcini, the Herbaliser and whatever. As long as it doesn't get corny (no vocals, please) I'm in for it!
  10. yes and yes!
  11. Yes, you are quite right. Anyway, even spinning stuff like Androcell, Abakus and Ott (well... usual suspects like shpongle, entheogenic and ott I refuse to play. too mainstream!!) doesn't really make people dance. So I guess it has to be more danceable than that; it's gotta take people out of their dozing laziness-modes. Too often I find people just coming to the chillout and doing anything except listening to the music. It's not a tapestry ffs! So, I am definitely gonna check out Tox's recommendations and start digging up upbeat tracks in my own cd cases. But more techy and housy stuff is also welcome. As long as it's not totally upbeat, if you guys know what I mean. Oh, and another thing: I'm trying to find things totally beyond the psychill genre. I've grown a bit weary of it... And yeah, I love Solar Fields, but people really won't move their asses to that. They need to be pushed more!
  12. hehehe, sorry dude, my vcr hasn't functioned in a loooooooong time
  13. Hehehe, yes I did, but unfortunately I couldn't really find anything I want on there... that's why I posted what I posted!
  14. I must say: NEO is a very nice and useable acronym. I can come up with a lot of wordplays involving 'neo' Look at this one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neo_%28constructed_language%29 Plus, of course, since NEO is 'new' in Latin, you got yourself a very very nice acronym. Since you are indeed trying to build something new!
  15. It's actually an actual word, you know? Means something along the lines of a new word for new things, like new inventions. Applies even kinda well to your project! And here is what wiki has to say on the subject! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neologism Hahaha, I like this part:
  16. Wordplay? Or are they neologisms?
  17. Yeah, but really though. I've heard some chillout-sets which were amazing, exactly because they were danceable. And it's not as obvious as you might think... You gotta find the right edge between danceable stuff, which people can still lay down and listen to. I like it groovy and funky! I'm just listening Trentemollers 'Last Resort' and some of it does sound like what I mean. What I'm looking for is, I think, click house, click hop, minimal techy stuff, dream and bass, but also more upbeat chillout. What would you think would fit in a chillout? You know, as a chillout-dj you don't always get the respect you'd like and I'm fine with that. I know and don't care that not as many people listen and react to my music, but I love it anyway. And what I also love is creativity, originality and spontaneity. Gotta keep yourself improving! Anyhoo, I'd love to put together a danceable yet still chillable set. So: what do you guys consider good music for both relaxing and moving your body? Gimme names, albums, titles, labels and elaborate please. Eager to hear what you think!
  18. haha, double thread! that's a first timer right there! mods can remove this safely now...
  19. I know! Party together with FrozenRealm! Woopteedoooo!
  20. 5-Neo-DMT ?
  21. Oh sorry, maybe I wasn't clear enough! The items on my wantlist were just some that I came up with at that moment, I'm open to a lot of stuff, but mainly chill oriented. Thing is: I could sell my cds, but somehow the money doesn't make as big a difference to me as another cd would. It's weird and doesn't really make sense, I guess, but that's how I feel. Maybe buy something over the internet for me? Got any good recommendations?
  22. Not this, but next thursday in my hometown! Woohooo!
  23. ok, in that case: turn off the music and just watch! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HvUlLCUcDuY
  24. I think we are misunderstanding each other, Tatsu I didn't say she was expecting my email, she just said she was amazed that it took me so long to realize that the cd didn't arrive. That's all.
  25. Hey Nemo, making an obivous statement perhaps, but me thinks that the 1-NEO sign (from the dollar bill) is a great logo. Recognizable yet distinct. Plus it has everything to do with your organization.. I think doing a pyramid with an eye inside would be knida cliché... That big 1 with NEO instead of ONE is just great! It's quite easy in black and white and with the typical dollar-bill-green (as it is on your site) also very recognizable. Seems perfect to me!
