  1. hmm i would say that fortunately there is still stuff made in less or more that style of ambient, and even higher quality... check discography of Robert Rich, Vidna Obmana, Steve Roach, Vir Unis... or some newers ambient artists such as Tom Heasley or Terra Ambient
  2. http://www.discogs.com/release/49197 Label: Recycle Or Die Catalog#: ROD 005 Format: CD Country: Germany Released: 1993 Genre: Ambient =-= Tracklist =-= 1 Man In The Machine (13:18) 2 Passion And Hope (5:15) 3 Maya & Aliens (6:36) 4 African Marché (9:53) 5 Harmonix (10:19) 6 The Closed Eye View (9:44) 1 Man In The Machine (13:18) Man In The Machine, starting track of the album, is an ethereal, dreamy piece of ambient with a liquid, smooth structure! 2 Passion And Hope (5:15) Passion And Hope continues in the dreamy way, even more melodic though, with some pretty impostuous pads and effects and great variation and evolution.. Gets merely atmospheric and entrancing, hypnotic during the last minute. 3 Maya & Aliens (6:36) Maya & Aliens clearly contains much more mystery and a feeling of getting to know the unknown at certain parts, still remaining a clean, calm, dreamy sound.. The track title clearly helps your imagination travel into the whole Maya & Aliens scenery...As the music progresses, the mystery is unrevealed 4 African Marché (9:53) African Marché morphs into a track with a very nice sense of rythm, having a bit of a tribal feeling without any percussions used though... 5 Harmonix (10:19) Harmonix is a solid track, full of harmonic pads and nostalgic,melancholy-inducing melodies. Great structure as in all tracks of this album of course, and a general feeling of balance,harmony,equilibrum... 6 The Closed Eye View (9:44) The Closed Eye View also follows the dreamy utopic hypnotic atmospheric soundscapes recipe of the album, the way this journey ends leaves you with a feeling of melancholy for getting out of the utopic realms you've been through... Conclusion Perfect, flawless album, clear production, certainly high quality especially taking into account it was released back in 1993, this sure has some place among the best beatless ambient ever.. Rating: 10/10
  3. argh but i agree in a way, FUCK RAP !
  4. High quality ambient indeed, and didgeridoo is impressive and magical as always. I would expect more users to comment on such a release... Entrancing...
  5. Squaremeat - Astronomical Coffee Break was nice as well
  6. put the some swedish psy... y know, Hux flux , procs, derango....
  7. lol i hate all these "Goa" compilations it seems that after 2000 or something there has been no proper psychedelic goa compilation released goa has been used more like a Trademark, as in that coca-cola cover , heh
  8. hmm maybe Laptop in lives are actually closer to "live" [not sure..] how did you know he was playing the song mixed, i suppose he was using a program such as Ableton Live... You can't expect 100% live in electronica anyways, do you want the artists to create everything this time? they would need 89211 hands and 213 brains. :D It would be like expecting from a band to COMPOSE a song and play it at once .
  9. their second best album IMO.. [first being The Juggeling Alchemist Under The Black Light]
  10. VA_-_The_Mystery_of_the_Yeti-Mystical_Experiences_(Spec.Ed.)-(REISSUE)-2CD-2004
  11. heheh yes that would sort him out and cause him some considerable brain damage
  12. hm technically he couldnt be tripping every day cuz there's tolerance grown... and i think it completely wears off after a week or so...
  13. So, couldnt someone say that Pink Floyd are NOT psychedelic? Do they hold the secret formula of psychedelic music ? (As said and agreed above psychedelic is subjective to a great extent) [personally i do find them psychedelic at certain parts] I dont know if Echoes is considered minimal... Anyways... The more music I listen the more music I enjoy.. Btw another of the most psychedelic genres IMO is ambient.
  14. Of course there's a correlation between psychedelic state and trance state but they are not exactly the same, i think. Some music could get you into a trance state without being ultra-psychedelic, and vice versa. [eh?] As for the rest of your post -->
  15. Galaxy - Angel (1998) Good old borris blenn style...
  16. I would like to add,as I've said in the past, psychedelic literaly means "bringing the soul to the surface" .. which is subjective and depends on the individual's perception of course.. I think I know what you are saying though, nice way to put it, psychedelia is about the inexpressible, that which cannot be expressed , something weird and surrealistic.
  17. I have the impression the Interchill relases ethnic-influenced chill mainly eh? Will check this one anyways..
  18. So true[generally speaking anyways].. I love the way the bassline morphs in goa, let alone the mid-bass sounds that surround the basic sub-bass...
  19. I also like raw sound, for example Orichalcum - Orichalcum & The Deviant but I find that Shamanic Tribes On Acid - Acid Apocalypse was poor production/mastering-wise, even for its time...
  20. Not in here... theoretically, a pill could also be pure MDMA...
  21. I have Acid Apocalypse album. Good points: Acid Krazy Style Bad points: outdated sound, album doesnt have much variation and gets boring, at some parts melodies are overused.
  22. hm a bit expensive but i dont know if it's wise to buy your drugs at the festival[maybe they rip you off], but then again you dont have many choices... anyway here it is like ... 1 g coke --- 70-100+ euros a hit of acid - 10-15 euros[usually 15 pills sold as E - ~10 if you buy one..
