Hallucinogen is NOT that overrated. Simon Posford is... IMO but, paradoxically i disagree with you. I wouldnt say Orphic Thrench or Snarling Black Mabel or Fluoro Neuro Sponge are "mostly boring stuff" , especially by the standards of that time.,

it can be and is timeless to some people.. no music is timeless to all people... e.g Pink Floyd are timeless [to some] but still this style is dead .

it's clearly "I killed my father"... but i had read yer review before listening to the album so the first time i had listened to it i also though it said "my daughter" > So in this sample Dr. Edwards is talking to himself.. mental great. Listened to it today after a while and liked this even more

i listened to the last of these collaborations, Pete_Namlook_and_Burhan_Ocal_-_Sultan-Orhan-(Fax_Records)-2004 , it's not bad but at certain moments i found it .. don't know , kind of cheesy, although i DO like eastern/oriental style... anyways, check Jet Chamber series ,[5 volumes total], along with Atom Heart, brilliant innovative ambient even blended with soft drum'n'bass or dub at times...

I could dance to it for 10-15 minutes max , but that's it... No concept, no story-telling, no mind-travelling , no atmosphere... IMO of course i hope his 2nd fits my taste..

I dont like his 1st album.. all tracks are very identical, melodies are OVERused and sometimes TOO predictable, heh, neo-melodic full-on fits it perfectly.. not much to do with the oldskool sound i think... If you like something new that still has the oldskool flavour check Etheral - Anima Mundi [2003, Tranceform Records]

Ethereal and Ypsilon5 were quite promising. Lost Buddha too... but as it seems goa scene stays still in a state of narcosis, more and more. and, yes music MUST evolve , but also keep in mind that music does NOT have expiration date as well...

just because something is unreleased doestn mean we cant express our opinion about it else there shouldn be a review of Chi-AD - Earth Crossing or Carbon Based Lifeforms - The Path, both unreleased...

what about Xenomorph - Qlippoth ? but you could also check for some dark ambient , e.g Deathprod - Imaginary Songs From Tristan Da Cunha or Inade - Aldebaran or something closer to industrial/ambient/breakcore such as Brian Lustmord vs hecate - law_of_the_battle_of_conquest [ search for it in the review section]... You might also enjoy early delirium [ np Delirum - Morpheus ] everything above-mentioned belongs in different categories and probably does not fit your desctiption but give them a try..

Para Halu - Black Water (Unreleased) (08.31) One of the few recent dark psy music that I dont find boring... Very well done, energetic, hard,dark,.... psychedelic. Personally I found the production quality to be high enough... Fortunately very few,almost none breaks here, I enjoyed the flow and evolution in this track. Intense and sort of aggresive at certain points. Give it a listen no matter what. Personal Rating: 9/10
