I am not sure about that since blind experiments that have been done in studios by sound engineers etc havent shown anything like this... now even pedro who seems to be passionate about audio quality and with a [probably] expensive soundsystem and is clearly anti-mp3 admits that " Sometimes it can be hard to notice any difference at 320k." now , i dont know charlie, maybe you should have done this test that i linked above... maybe search for a new one or something... do it in your own soundsystem..[how many thousands pounds did it cost you btw? ]
-
I dont disagree, there's some difference that CAN be noticed in expensive soundsystems.. how much does your soundsystem cost? but as you said yourself, 320 is practically identical... I believe that difference of wav and 192+ is barely noticeable in an average-to-expensive soundsystem.. As for lossless, from what i've heard FLAC format is also lossless but still smaller enough in size than wav... p.s off topic but who cares EDIT#: indeed i am satisfied with anything 192+ , as for dloads... usually crews rip releases at high quality...[some even cbr 256 or 320... lately it's usually vbr 192-320]...

enough said... try a blind test some day with and maybe you see it for yourself and admit it.. [keep in mind that if the test is not blind it's no point taking it.. because of the so-called placebo effect ]... like this one for example:[ http://sonic-energy.net/smf/index.php?topic=365.0 ] [you cant take the test anymore, unfortunately.. but i hope that results can prove my point..]

maybe you should give him the money? dumb f@#k

Tom Heasley - Desert Triptych [ http://sonic-energy.net/smf/index.php?topic=609.0 ] (beatless ) some nice one with impressive [real,recorded of course] percussions and a rather tribalistic feeling: Steve_Roach_And_Jeffrey_Fayman_-_Trance_Spirits-2002

yes, that's probably because you expected something like a Let's Turn On sequel, while this album's style has nothing to do with the debut album.
-
sorry but that's just incorrect.

Crappy year with a few good releases, as far as psy/dark psy is concerned.. [ derango, squaremeat, mandalavandalz,droidlock,procs,khetzal]

http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/obj/obj1cd001.html Label:Object Records Format:CD Date:2005 Style:Experimental/IDM Tracklist 1. Drastik adhesive force - Drastik adhesive force 2. Boh - Shadow picture latern 3. Shimawaki Satoshi - Wave 25 4. Waki - Club 5. Leslie - Fog 6. Asahi - XXX 7. Shin Takai & Tsukasa Murota - Highway radio 8. Yosuke Sugamata - Electronic rover 9. Rivero - Computer waltz 10. Oyamada Eiji - Kichi George 11. The Matrix Project - Arab love 12. Snfkn - Become insane 13. Takaya Nakamura - Reset 1. Drastik adhesive force - Drastik adhesive force Funky Basslines, noisy mysterious effects , IDM-like melodies, lots of experimentation and japanese weirdness. 2. Boh - Shadow picture latern Slightly out of tune pads,notes, a constant noisy scrachy can be heard in the background.. After a few more playing the latern is off. 3. Shimawaki Satoshi - Wave 25 Calmer, less crazy track, but still I dont like the synths , this seems so much out of fit, to my ears at least. 4. Waki - Club Lots of tribalistic elements can be noticed here, this track is merely based upon percussion-like sounds as well as some low frequencies accompanying it. 5. Leslie - Fog Chilly laid-back track with heavy/deep bass/kick and nice, sort of melancholic melodies. 6. Asahi - XXX Ambientish intro, creating an organic, peaceful, tranquil atmosphere and staying there ... 7. Shin Takai & Tsukasa Murota - Highway radio Lots of distorted busy percussions combined with soothing pads and soft melodies. Add a bit of variation and you have this track. 8. Yosuke Sugamata - Electronic rover Quite relaxing track flowing smooth like a river... 9. Rivero - Computer waltz Piano sounds + IDM crazyness.. Nice outcome. 10. Oyamada Eiji - Kichi George Dreamy track, very floaty. 11. The Matrix Project - Arab love Short track, a few arab influences , many layers that seem shuffled... 12. Snfkn - Become insane "Become insane" vocoded sample is being repeated... experimental electronica all the way.. I enjoyed track more after ~05.00 13. Takaya Nakamura - Reset Only track that has a darker and more mystagogic feeling. This track must be supposed to reset your brain to default function or something again.. Great track, my favourite of this compilation. Conclusion Mixed feelings for this one. All tracks are weird, as expected. Some i found to be weird in a stupid way.. Some were enjoyable.. One thing is for sure: This music is hard to digest... So if your ears are able to show some tolerance, check it and try to get into that sound... Rating: 6.5/10

Well, I am always a sharer. I cant imagine a friend saying "hey i liked this cd can you rip it and upload it or copy it to a blank cd?" and me replying "No fuck off go buy that cd ". I also dont think it has much to do with artists' appreciation. But i cannot afford paying to buy their music. Should i go fuck myself? So, would you prefer,let's say, 1000 people that have never bought/heard of your music or 1000 people that downloaded your music from dc++ and among them ,e.g, 400 of them loved it and had Elysium's music in their mind and heart? Personally as an artist i would want my music to be spread as much as possible, even if i lacked the "money reward", i would get psychic satisfaction anyways :}

agreed, nothign extraordinary, ... Ironically enough, i enjoed first and last track the most... Rating: 7/10

again, copyright violation is not stealing. Breaking in the store and grabbing original cds. yes, that would be stealing. you get a product and the creators/those involved dont get anything in return. Copying a cd? Noone loses any money. I wouldnt buy it anyways if i could not download. So , either way, no money gained , no money lost.

http://www.discogs.com/release/35813 Label: Twisted Records Catalog#: TWSCD11 Format: CD Country: UK Released: 20 Nov 2000 Genre: Electronic Style: (Goa)Trance/Downtempo/Dub Credits: Mastered By - Chris Ludwinski Notes: All music written and produced by Nick Barber @ Doof studio, London. Mastered by Chris Ludwinski at Abbey Road studios. Cover by Mark Neal & Nick Barber @ Dusk Digital. Tracklisting: 1 Try (8:32) 2 Dawn Of A New Error (7:46) 3 Last Half Of Forever (8:41) 4 Home On The Strange (6:06) 5 Sk.2k (8:06) 6 Dark Secrets Of The Manky Fudgepocket (9:29) 7 Nights In The Shining Alma (10:14) 8 (There's Nothing So Dated As) Yesterdays Future (12:06) Doof's 2nd cd is definitely different from his debut one, Let's Turn On, which is considered as a classic by many goaheads. It's no point comparing it to the previous one, since it's totally different. 1 Try (8:32) Nice ambientish intro, giving its place to a downtempo 4/4 track, happy-in-the-clouds daydreaming style. 2 Dawn Of A New Error (7:46) Morning track with crystal clear sounds and fx, kick gets in with a relatively energetic feeling, closer to Goa Trance, compared to the previous track.. Maybe the ideal track to play at a party when dawn has just started to settle in. 3 Last Half Of Forever (8:41) Clean track, a groovy bassline and rhythm.. Sort of repetitive yet complex, I think this track focuses merely on the groove... 4 Home On The Strange (6:06) Intro and title suggest that this is a stranger, more mysterious track.. but after a while it becomes almost completely normal, not deranged at all. I particularly liked the fx and midbass variation in this one. So far this is the most psychedelic track of the album, IMO. 5 Sk.2k (8:06) Sk.2k and the rest of the album are even more downtempo and chilly, this style of chill/dub/downtempo reminded me a bit of Waterjuice - Melbaphonics album.. 6 Dark Secrets Of The Manky Fudgepocket (9:29) Melancholic and emotional.. Evolves into a more atmospheric psychill direction with dynamic effects just to dissapear into the peacefulness side again, accompanied by some nice crispy drums. 7 Nights In The Shining Alma (10:14) First 5 minutes consist of abundant beatless tranquility... One of my favourites, many layers, mystery floating in the background, playful sounds and fx. 8 (There's Nothing So Dated As) Yesterdays Future (12:06) A quiet and calm outro track, as expected. =-=Conclusion=-= Smooth album, crystal clear high-quality production. Definitely give it a listen and decide. Undoubtedly suitable for homelistening, although first 4 dance tracks could also easily be played during the end of a party or something. Rating: 9/10

nah it's good but sort of monotonous IMO , geogaddi is better.

Irony is so many compilations with the word "Goa" in them and music had nothing to do with goa

Nice and original release , standing out as a gem in the pile of crap released in heaps under the "dark" "psytrance" genre.. I bet most typical "psytrance" heads will not like this release... It's definitely not "dancefloor killargh" , subtle trippy kicks/drums all over, weird synths and fx, original use of melodies... Not too intense, although dark enough at certain parts... even humourous at times..[especially hidden track ] Yes, I agree with RAH, this release is about a musical concept, an integral journey.I would recommend everyone to listen to this album as a whole.. If you like deep trance-inducing psychedelia, don't miss this one, it contains some generally fresh ideas, which is rather rare for this genre nowadays. Rating: 9/10 Favourite Track: 8. Sub Glob

Murcof - Martes is also a quite nice one, neoclassical/IDM with orchestral sounds amongst others...
