Here's what they say in Itunes help menu: If your computer is connected to any other computers over a local network, you can share the music in your library and playlists with up to five of those computers (the other computers need to be in the same subnet as your computer and using iTunes 4.5 or later). Sharing is intended for personal use only. To me this looks like you can share a particular track up to 5 times over a local network using I tunes software. However, you can import the actual file that's sitting on your hard drive to any other program you desire and do anything you want including CDR burning, converting to other formats, sharing etc.. I think Itunes just want to make sure their software is not used for piracy, but what you do with the actual song on your hardrive in other applications is your business. Dowloaded files are in .aiff format which is a full CD quality (not a shitty compressed mp3) file and can be easily converted to Wav.. there also may be an option to downoad wav without a need to convert..you'd have to play with the options a little bit and see..and NO..you DO NOT have to have a Mac or Ipod to dowload from Itunes. It works from PC too. Here is a link to dowload either Itunes OS X or Window XP version: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

The same EP costs $3.99 on Itunes
-
Yes there is psytrance on Itunes. They had a lot of Twisted records stuff last time I checked for example. You can buy the whole Hallucinogen in Dub album (10 songs) for $9.99, they also have The Lone Deranger album for $7.92, Jaia-Fiction $9.90, X-dream - Radiohead EP for $2.97, Talamasca first album $8.91, Pleiadians-Family of lite 99 cents each song, Etnica-Plastic/Vimana EP for $2.97, Son Kite-Colours $8.91 and a lot more. X-dream - Radiohead EP (3 songs) is cheaper than one song on Beatport... Their electronic music selection is huge.
-
You may very well be right. I am not 100% sure about their system, but I can tell with a fairly high degree of confidence they will not advertise they sell tracks for 99 cents and then charge $3.5 per song like Beatport does.
-
I'm not so sure about their business model and the way you describe it here. If Itunes sees there is some money to be made here they will easily put them out of business and take over now that they substantially raised their prices in such sneaky way and pissing people off...and pissing people off is a big no no .... Itunes is firm on pricing their music $1 per track if I remember correctly which people find fare.... that's one of the reasons why they are so big. $3 per downloaded , no artwork, no cd, just .wav file is just plain ridicilous. ...oh and you can get quite a bit of psy trance on Itunes....for 99 cents a song...
-
Completely agree. Variety is the spice of life as they say Maybe speed/amphetamines or whatever drugs are done nowdays can explain the need for 145-150 full on killllargh all the way
-
Ah that makes a lot of sense now.

Let's just say it's the best old school Goa melodic trance album of all time. Looks like she missed keywords like "Goa" "Psy" and "Trance" in her description so it may not reach the full price since some people won't find it. If you are a fan of melodic Goa Trance this is a must have. It's also very hard to find since it's been out of print for a long time making it a ollectors item. Try to find "Deep Space 5D" track. It appears on some compilations too....It's simply amaising.

I don't mean to attack you I swear, but to my ears some Elysium material sounded very much relaxing. Say for example Atmosphere track or remix of "Keep it Cool". I wouldn't say they are pure, static ambient, but still very light, chilled and relaxed tracks. I'm not saying they don't belong on the main stage, maybe at the begginig of the party or in the morning when sun is coming up would be a nice experience to hear them, or perhaps some sort of intermission between faster sets, but certainly not for the peak of the night in terms of energy. I wouldn't be surprised to hear Atmosphere track for example in a chillout area, since it is still suitable for sitting down and listening, or even hearing it at home. It's a multi purpose music, not just one-dimensional dancefloor whatever...I wouldn't run away from chill-out rooms if I was you. It's just another avenue to show what you're capable of. I find your other projects such as Kaaya, Sheyba or Holm and Andersen much more suitable for dancefloor, but like I said that's just me

Oh yeah? How about some Latin American or tribal influences? .....or warm and deep analog sounding synths? ...or odd time signatures? .....vocals that are not used for singing but rather sound layering (there is no spoken word I recall I could understand, just voice)? or .....combining both acoustic and electronic elements? I know tastes are different and you are fully entitled to dislike Sub Consciouss album, but I would not call this "very generic chill" or "dated". It easily beats 2nd and 3rd Shpongle albums in my book.. It's an absolute masterpiece. As I said before, it is way up there with "Are you shpongled" as two albums I admire the most in the genre although comparing Sub Consciouss and Are you Shpongled does no justice to either one of them since they are quite different despite the "weird dub" similarities. Are you shpongled is a psychedelic monster while Sub Consciouss aims to hypnotize the listener with it's deep groove and appeals on the emotional level rather than psychedelic. Perhaps if Shpongle and Juno Reactor ever collaborated they could sound like this. Phutureprimitive has definitelly impressed me the most of all American downtempo producers. Both Bluetech and Androcell have their moments when they shine, but Phutureprimitive is a class above these guys...both idea and execution wise...at least judging by this album. If Sub Consiouss was released on Twisted instead of Waveform which is virtually unknown label in the Psy scene, especially in Europe, I bet there would be more people raving about it and call it a future classic. Well, it definitely is a future classic that will not be forgotten and burried in my collection.
-
I second that. wtf
-
Yeah truly great album. Try Shpongle - Are you shpongled album. It's the only one that is in my opinion at about the same level as Phutureprimitive - Sub Conscious CD.

How about some hardcore? One of my all time favorites is Nordcore. Check it out at http://www.nordcore.de/ Their sound is very powerful, but not in a Rotterdam overdone kind of way. This is true dark, underground horror core with a lot of detail and psychedelic riffs that at times may appeal to a psyhead. I absolutely love the dark and scary atmosphere they create. I haven't heard their newer stuff but I bet it's just as good as older.

How about Nuclear Ramjet "Mission to Sedna"? They also have a couple of tracks off the album in better quality and full length on their show with interviews etc.. here. Enjoy
-
you can buy it here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...1&category=2249 There is quite a bit of old school Goa influence here but also experimental and different. As pretty much all old school releases, production is not at the level of new releases, but dependig on your taste you may like the musical value. It reminds me a tiny bit of the earliest Green Ant label material. I believe the label was owned by Ray Castle famous for his track The Web as Insectoid and many other well known projects/collaborations such as Rhythmystec, Exotic Matter, Masaray(with Masa), Mantaray (with Susumu Yokota) etc.. more info about him here.

What sort of info do you need? Did you mean tracklisting?
-
If the label owners have more of these CD's they would not be able to become rich either way you look at it. Cosider these 2 scenarios: 1) The owner has 1, 2 or 3 CD's which he sells for a crazy high price since it's so rare but in the grand scheme of things it is nowhere near enough to be an invesment to re-start the label. 2) The owner has many CD's to sell, but the price will go down greatly if it's no longer rare so he will not get much money. Of course it would be great if he has 3000 CD's sitting in his basement he would sell for a regular CD price, but it's unlikely he has that many CD's available. The only way it may realistically work is to re-release it, but do they want to take another chance?

Electric Universe - Silence In Action [Planet BEN]
visine replied to amphiton's topic in Artist News and Labels announcements
I second that! Powerful, melodic, dancable and polished...not your average full on I try to stir clear of -
I didn't think you were trying to diss'em I think one needs to really listen to this album entirely in order to appreciate it. 3-4 minute low quality samples simply don't do it justice because the production is very detailed and it becomes transparent when you liten to it louder on a nice system, besides tracks continue to subtly evolve so you need to hear it entirely. I thought it was very cool to discover new elements and semi hidden samples while listnening to it for the third or fourth time, and I had no idea that stuff was there before It's one of those CD's you keep discovering over time. It's probably more likely to appeal to those who don't pigeonhole themselves to one sub-genre of electronic music. Mission To Sedna CD combines the smoothnes of progressive, punch of Techno and dreamy textures of Trance in one delicious package. I've never really been a huge fan of Nuclear Ramjet before although they made a few nice tracks here and there...They surely got my attention now after releasing Mission to Sedna CD
-
Comparing those two does not do justice to either of them. Ka sol is a true mind blowing psychedelia while Nuclear Ramjet's "Mission To Sedna" is a very mature piece of electronic music fusing Trance, Techno, Progressive and Ambient with some futuristic/SF/Cinematic elements. The album opens with a different version of their famous Folding Time track. This one is even longer (13 and 1/2 min.) and very different from the one released on Refresh comp. The album is souitable for both home listening and dancefloor making it very likely to stand the test of time. Production and mastering are superb. Expect clean and punchy low end bass frequencies coupled with clean mid and highs therefore resulting in a highly enjoyable noise free listening experience at high volumes unlike many amateurish muddy productions where layers get lost in blurriness. Mission to Sedna is not minimal, yet not cluttered with sounds between the beats. If you're looking to fry your brain with some serious psychedelia get Ka Sol. If you want some mature clever electronic music that will most likely sound fresh and great many years from now get Nuclear Ramjet. I'm peronnally going for both.
