Hi unikos. You have all the informations on asura music
-
Nevertheless, I understand and respect your opinion EP, cause some persons here (not you Alek) take a real pleasure to bash with a load of stupid prejudices, not knowing the person beside the artist and not respecting the huge work accomplished to propose the best they can. And above all not allowing an artist to express his own opinion, even if it is negative. Personaly, when I don't like something, I say what I think like any customer on this forum (cf about Shpongle or Entheogenic), and I explain why, always. A few fortunatly think that I don't have the right to give a negative opinion about another artist, that I am jealous or some others idiot things like that. For those, that I respect even when they tell some or all of my works are bad (if there is an argument beside, of course, otherwise, I am pittyless ) I would like to tell you won't prevent us to tell what we think, even if it's harsh, cause a forum is a freedom place, and their is no reason we should shut up, as their is no reason you should if you don't like what we make. I said!

I perfectly understand your point of view Alek, no problem By all means, I didn't feel personaly output, so...

Thanks traveller for those kind words. That's why we make music... Concerning the upcoming album, we are in touch with labels to sign it. But it's really long, and I can't say more for the moment. Maybe not for 2005, maybe some modifications, but we have to wait. And compose!
-
Nevertheless, I am proud and happy you consider Asura among the bests, Thanks Alek! But you know, we tried to modify enough the vocal track and take only fragments so that It makes part of our world. That's right we used many "Voices of Istanbul" samples in "Lost Eden" album, but I hope we put our touch on it so that one can say: "yes, they used it, but with their own manner, and not by the way another artist did it billions times".
-
To be honest, when we did the track lost eden, we didn't know Shpongle already used it. But if we had known it, I am not sure we wouldn't have done it as we did it. I think the artist has the right to reappropriate material which is available for his work. As synth layers or drum loops by example.

Alek wrote: 1) Voices of Istanbul. Same Turkish singing can be heard at the end of "Around the world in a tea daze" and Asura's song "Lost Eden" is actually the entire vocal part. Asura writes The entire vocal part of "Voices of Istanbul" last 4mn38 sec Alek...

Hehe, the neverending subject: Shpongle perfection or not? The exact name of the cd is "Voices of Istanbul". You certainly don't have it, that's why probably you think Simon put those samples smoothly... By all means, it's the last time I answer to Shpongle fan offensed by my critics concerning their idol (I begin to feel a little bit tired to repeat everytime the same obvious things). Nevertheless, I respect your point of view concerning lost Eden.

My God this is music! Although I don't like that much the Bossa mood on few tracks, the whole album is awesomely produced, and very personal. And you know I am not always tender with Shpongle, though... Although I was a bit disappointed byt "Tales", this one catched my ears immediatly. Really I can't understand those who put very provocative "1/10" or "2/10", even if one can of course says one don't like Shpongle, but say it's very bad is a total nonsense. Try to make an half of a quarter these guys did for psychedelic music and music in general, and come back later (it's not for you shaman sound of course! )...

What music are you listening to right now?
asura replied to Sputum Rotgut's topic in General Psytrance
Ott. Smoked glass and chrome. ABsolutly Fantastic. The music I would like to compose everytime (or just one time, it would be great but the level is so high ). -
I relistened the whole album this night, and well, huge work by Entheogenic. In fact, I know what disappointed me so much when I first listened to it: the flat rythms, very poor in bass frequencies. Nevertheless, great construction and sometimes very soulfull. As said Cinos concerning Asura, I don't like the general mood of Entheogenic, but their quality is obvious. However, I didn't listened to the second one.
-
Ah my friend Cinos. I missed you! You know, in fact, I am a fan of Shpongle (not as addict as you, indeed) but, well, this track, my God... Sorry I can't stand such a bad work by such a genious musician.
-
I didn't bash anybody Psyhead, I just said that I don't like the first album of Entheogenic and said that the use of samples in "around the World in a tea daze" are shameful (though I love Shpongle, someof my posts prove it). Being an artist doesn't prevent me to have tastes or opinion and to express them. So please keep your hasty prejudice where you stand in the future, my friend...
-
I know the first album of Entheogenic, and didn't like it at all. But hey, Mattman, it's just a matter of taste, all my and our respect goes to all musicians who deserve it (and they are numerous, fortunatly ), and Entheogenic make part of them.
-
It's not Asura, the band, but a fake, sorry...
-
Yes, cause many psytrancers use samples.
-
Thanks Mat, we'll play in Hungary this summer. Just see their line up here: http://www.nomanslandfestival.com/

Hmm, no. He released 1 as a member of Asura, just for the little precision, "Code Eternity".

Hi AmithabaBuddha, it reminds me the best times of Goa, unfortunatly dead now, but when I hear a track like this one, I would want it comes again. I like the melodies and arpeggios, so I am obliged to love this extract. Keep on the good work, Ami (it means "Friend" in France)

You know ensign, I have so many fantastic ambient moments which make me shiver. By example, in no particular order: Solar Fields Outlined surface. Between 4:05 till the end. Fantastic atmosphere, between acid, spacey music, warm rythms, with an atmospheric piano perfectly introduced. I love Solar Fields. Tangerine Dream: Ricochet Part two . The passage between the intro piano and the mellotron strings and arpeggio. Unforgetable for me till I heard them for the first time ten years ago. Union Jack: don't remember the title track, that I heard and record on a poor ferro K7, but all in this track is awesome. the introduction, themes, atmospheres. Unfortunatly I lost the K7 and nobody were able to tell what is this track. So, its beauty must be emphasized by my rememberings... or by my oblivion! Shpongle: and the Day turned to night For me by far the best track I heard from Shpongle, really beautiful, soulful, fantasticaly constructed. The (very) long introduction make me dream everytime I listen to it. A pure moment of raising consciousness. Jaia: L'ivresse des profondeurs give me the impression I fade away into the abyss. Ex-tra-or-di-na-ry well made and thought. Again, I love the introduction, which set the story smoothly and deeply. Great moment of ambient msic and music above all.

There's a sample Shpongle used and we used, that's all. When I said that we used it "better" I meant "more honestly", it's obvious when one reads my post, knowing this "Voices of Istanbul" vocal patch, taken from the beginning till the end by Simon. Obviously, Simon has a huge talent, it's a secret for nobody. But the genious of Shpongle is a little bit too much emphasized sometimes, and especially on the use of the samples in this track, which is shameful (I assume). I don't compare our talent to Shpongle one, there's no point in that, but Cinos said that the use of those voices are far better used by Shpongle in "Tea Daze" than by us in the track "Lost Eden". I read this thread and, knowing all which were said about "Voices of Istanbul", I think I have an answer right, even if his post wasn't for us. Otherwise, I would have never given my opinion about this subject. But you are perfectly right Tryptamine, we use the same sample (us a sample in the sample, him the whole sample) but this is not the same music. I don't know why Cinos compared those two tracks, but, as he did, I thought it was obvious to bring some... precisions I would say. So for the sense of the comparison, ask to Cinos, not to me. But well, now this subject is closed, it doesn't really matter, and it's not the topic. Sorry for the flood, mea culpa, but let's keep on giving our best ambient moments here.
-
But you, you have the right to say what is better or not? Hehe... your reaction prove you didn't understand a word in what I was saying or that your reasoning isn't honest. Well, ok, you are right, I am wrong, and everybody is happy, Cinos! And I don't need an alias (pfff) to say that.

4) Haven't Voices of Istanbul
