I've just heard a few clips where he uses some "great" guitar riffs and prodigy samples. I've never heard a full track by him, I must admit. I've seen more pictures of the guy than I've heard tracks ... so well, what's the point of my post? Not much, except I didn't vote. I can't say much about the man nor his music. He's more like an urban legend to me.

I always ready for beer!

This is even more stupid than euro vocal trance. Seriously. "Feel my bass, you will obey!" Who is the genious who comes up with such wonderful lyrics? I actually get pissed off when I hear this.

I'd got for a prog that supports vst in the end, be it cubase/FLS/renoise/whatever. It gives you more freedom IMHO.

I've made some tracks in reason 2.5 alone, that has gotten released, so I guess it's possible to do some decent stuff there. But Looking back at it now, it's strange to see how I managed to work without vsts. I do miss the subtractor though

Synth1 http://www.geocities.jp/daichi1969/ One of my favorites -
For me (in Norway) it's usually 3-4 days. But sometimes I'm really lucky and customs want to open it up and see what it is, and that takes about 2-3 weeks.

Just gotta make a post, to get me closer to 3000 posts.

I saw a movie yesterday......
phobium replied to Stalker's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
It depends on where you watch the movie. If it's a movie with ac3 sound and it gets mixed down to stereo, you can get some pretty intense compression here and there. And no need to talk about TV, all they care about is to get that shit as loud as possible. -
A bit too much cut and paste from the "the illuminati" dvd (both video and audio). http://www.enigmacyberstore.com/

Agree, that's where the fun is.

Did you ever see Simon Posford?
phobium replied to Frontier Psychiatrist's topic in General Psytrance
You know, this IS actually quite funny. Like now, at 08:30 in the morning. It's been a long night, time for sleep. But yeah, this IS funny. No, I've never seen him. I don't think he even knows what "Norway" is -
Live and live PA means the same thing. It just looks more fancy on the flyer. A bit off topic but ... PA stands for public announcement.

Exactly. Keep in mind that reason does not support vst, while FL does. (Yes, I know you can rewire and all that)

For me it started with music making when I was 13 years old, messing around with protracker on amiga. By the time I was 16 I had gotten several of my tracks played on various shows on national radio (some of my house and tech-house/techno tracks). When I was twelve i connected two cd players into one input on my brothers amp to be able to mix, not a good idea, I know Some time later some friends of mine bought 2 1210s and a mixer and that's where I learned to mix, I was 13 or 14 I think. I later on bought a pair of cdjs myself aswell. But my first gig was in january 2004 in Belgium. Which is kinda odd, since I'm Norwegian. I got the gig through irc actually, talking to Rik (psygarden.be) who was telling me he was planning to do a party and he wanted some demos of people who were in the #goa channel on ef-net. I recorded a dj set, and voila. Other people who played at the party was Grapes of Wrath, Sienis and Sungirl. Check the flyer here. Later in 2004 i moved to Oslo and got to know people within the psytrance scene there. During the autumn of 2004 there was a 2 day festival in Oslo, where Derango played amongst others. They were staying with some of my friends, and they played some of my tracks for them and Derango then again hooked me up with Stoneage. So now I get a track released every now and then which is fun, and also some gigs. Not often though since the scene here in Norway is quite small, and I don't do promotion to get myself any gigs.

That's right. So on second thought, Norway is a penis. And so am I for being Norwegian. And there is progressive dark rolling basslines on every corner, right next to the penis shaped polar bears.

Norway is not a penis.

My favorite artist ever : Oliver Lieb. Been in love with his music ever since I hear Blueprint in 1994.
-
is it called Digital Shamen or Digital Shaman?
-
That's just of you're to lazy to download it from web ...

Since it seems like not many people are checking the promotional section, I'd like to point out : http://www.psynews.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=29611 There you can download a free compilation in both 320kbps and wav. Tracks are from Norwegian artists only, some fresh some established.
