This live set is awesome. Great writing skills you got there Artha man. Great Goa approach you got in your tracks and excellent production too. Big respect to you. :-) -
Undoubtedly, Astrancer is truly talented. I really loved all his released tracks. Ashram is amazing! Had tears in my eyes several times with this spectacular track.

This compilation is magical. It encompasses great tunez. But for no doubt - Artifact303 and Antares - their tracks are particularly my fave. These two are to be watched after. I see a great future for these two. Way to go Suntrip. I adore you guys.

Well said Cosmogenesis. Much respect to Cronomi.

Label: Cronomi Records Catalog#: cronomi1 Format: CD, Compilation Country: Israel Released: 11 Jul 2008 What year is this? 2008? Hmm.. Interesting.. It seemed like it isn't. This CD is on repeat for a week now and I'm feeling like I'm 13, and that the year is 1996. A new label called Cronomi Records, run by Michael Anenburg also known as Mike A/Subra/Felis, has released a new debut compilation with the appetizing name – Freshly Cut Tomato. The new founded label is a new name in the Goa Trance scene which is gaining popularity in the past few years thanks to a small group of people who grew up listening to this genre and were the original nineties Trance tribe. This music has happy melodies, open pads and lots of good vibes. This compilation has 9 tracks which are capable of defining the label as one with high standards very early in its existence. The tracks range from New-School Goa Trance psychedelics with some progressive and night digging in the first part of the compilation to Old-School Goa Trance with the pads and morning melodies in the latter part. 1. Pandemonium! - A Mad Scientists Night (Subra vs Felis Remix) The opening track is the result of the split personalities of the label owner Mike A. He remixed a track by a fellow artist in the genre. The atmosphere conveyed in the beginning of the track is very reminiscent of Gamma Goblins. This is the feeling I'm talking about – the soundtrack of a horror movie taking place in a doll house when the killer is the clown. A very characteristic track of Mike's New-School style with the background bleeps and the proggy groove. An interesting combination. 2. Anakoluth - Orbiting The Earth The next track sends us away like a spaceship orbiting the earth into the grim night psychedelia. This track has a very deep bassline creeping into your ear with extreme moderate arrangement and a slow buildup leading many sounds which tell a story that ends with chaos. 3. Jikkenteki With 11 - Super Power Mustard What an astonishing opening this track has. If I ever needed a track that could describe the concept of a dream in sound terms, this one would do it best. Very lush pads, and a great groove is really doing this to me. After a dreamy beginning this track gets his natural tone which is what they aim over there at Cronomi – New-School Goa. Better sound than the past but with loyalty to the same principles of “feel” and “vibe” of Goa's beaches. Good Track. 4. Alt Anesis and 5Meo-Geo – Ficus Still in the psychedlia zone, we march straight into the “Ficus Track”. A track with sound complexity, samples and very interesting arrangement. It has a somewhat tech-trance feeling to it, yet very melodic in the Old-School vibe. 5. Subra and Har-El Prusky – Freakagnux For the production of this track, Mike joined forces with Harel to a few night sessions to conjure the next track. The opening is very tribal with all those tam tams. The sounds play on a scale that goes up and down and suddenly it morphs into a different scale with feelings reminding me of the old touch to the very first trance tracks. In the last section of the track and feeling changes into an Israeli-styled melody, which like back in the good old times, waited patiently to surprise us near the end. No disappointments here, very happy synth lines. 6. K.O.B. - Pitch & Chips (A Fairytale About A Chip) You won't find your regular dish of fish and chips here. The chips are present but the pitch replaced the fish. This is a very chaotic New-School track. I was personally put into hallucinations by this track. Very busy and loaded. Those who likes the forest style will really go crazy on this one. 7. Merr0w - Pixelized Sight Let me sit in comfort while I enjoy the closing part of the compilation. The direction the compilation gets from this track and forward is a total recall of the good old Goa Trance days. Just wow. Listen to this thing! The introduction is amazing with burning hot pads and an analog synth gently pleases the ear. This is a guaranteed dance floor hit. Alternating melodies, a very killer groove and lots of energy. Definitely a storming track. 8. Radical Distortion – Unchristened I really enjoy listening to this over and over again. This is a really Astral-influenced track. All of the elements are here. The melodies, the musical scale, the beat. Spacy lines which fill in the atmosphere's space with positive energies. Layers and layers of well written sounds. This track is a real pleasure. 9. Astrancer – Ashram I have a confession to make. This track sometimes made me shed a tear while I was driving. There are some track which I listen to and connect to in an emotional way. I don't need music with lyrics to tell me what to feel. I can interpret the music I'm listening to myself. No one has to make the music verbal, and this is what is so beautiful about electronic music. Music that transfers feelings and emotions through channels of frequencies. Frequencies of electrical current changed to feelings deep within ourselves. This is what this track is all about. I was really trying to decide which track is this compilation is the best. The last 3 tracks are definitely on the podium, but this track overtakes them all and takes first place. Everything is just right in here. The heavenly melody, the beat, the length of the track (11 minutes), claps that pound along the track in such a correct way, and bass and the eastern melody which throws you high in the air. This isn't the first time I hear a track by Astrancer, and in every track I am deeply impressed by his level of music writing and production. The label has made its mark. As far as I know, this label is planning more quality releases. Goa Trance is on the rise and I wish we could see more from this label. So give a Goa Trance a chance, aight?

Today I got my copy of "Freshly Cut Tomato". I got it first hand from Mike. I visited the guy at his home/bedroom-studio. Horaaay =)

Wicked... the artwork does add to the general atmosphere of the music. The 1st album's cover was one of the most interesting covers I've stumbled upon in recent years.

Bring it ooooooooooooooon =) -
Well, I have to agree that Juno have always expanded their musical taste with every album they released. But i can't help hoping that they would put some more psychedelic elements in their works. I don't expect them to produce 4X4 beats like any ordinary trance, but at least i would want to hear more electronica than ethnic\tribal sounds.

I had to post a reply, even though this has been out for two years now... I'll start off with saying that this is a very good compilation and I have enjoyed it much. But what bothers me is the fact that Afgin didn't get the recognition i have expected he would get here... The man is a genius - in his track here ("Tribute To The Sun") he managed to imitate Astral Projection's "Liquid Sun" so perfectly (hence the track's name...), delivering those spacey multi layered sounds and feeling that AP used to create in their tracks back than, not to mention the squelching 303 all around... ahhhhhh :posford: Afgin's track stands out for me. This is a real old school track, in the purest sense. This guy is the real deal. I remember hearing this track in his promo that was released back than by the OiG crew and i was amazed! But all in all...this is my opinion and it's all a matter if taste. (And i guess the fact that i am a huge AP fan makes anything that resembles their sound a favorite...) 604 4ever =)

Very nice. Talented indeed. =)

Good luck with this. More than all - I am happy to see our buddy Afgin in that tracklist. This kind of release might be considered unpopular by today's market, but still - way to go guys. This is one step further in our aim to bring Goa back to the main stage. -
Wicked! Thanx for that Colin. OOOD is always welcomed. =)

Artist: Various Artists Title: VA_-_Golden_Vibes-2007-OiG Label: OiG Format: MP3 Release: 12/05/2007 Catalog: O00i00G08 Tracklist: 01. AFGIN - Salton 02. Har-El & Ime - Asylum 03. Lost Buddha - Southern Oracle 04. The Wonderboy - The Next World 05. Subra - Shomervan 06. Ediya - Groovy Dance 07. Alt Loc - Do-U-Want-A 08. Apis - Varunastra 09. Qawa Beat - 20 Minutes 10. Edyia - Imagination 11. AFGIN - Blue Sparkle A friend asked me to promote this one for him. enjoy!-----> OiG team proudly presents to you an exclusive compilation to the OiG release team, a team which releases loads of old school Goa music that cannot be found in music stores anymore, promos to artists that produce non-commercial music and that's based upon the true belief of music as a form of art. Gai Edri, AKA The Wonderboy, was leading this project and collected from the various artist old school Goa music with a nostalgic touch. The opening track in this compilation was produced by Elad Afgin, an Israeli producer, which produces music that resembles much of the old Astral projection sound production. There's a lot of cosmic ambience and a 1996 morning glory feel to this one. The 2nd track was produced by Har-El Prussky and Eyal Yaniv. Har-El is widely known to be the founding figure of the acid goa trance ever in Israel and worldwide. The track puts emphasis on the old style of the acid trance style, much like the legendary "Trance-Mix" compilation series, and has the atmosphere of California Sunshine, the leading project of Har-El in the past. Can you dig it? The 3rd track was produced by Filipe Santos, AKA Lost Buddha, from Portugal. Filipe produced a track that resembles the morning glory feel of 1998. The track has a strong influence of the Greek melodic movement, a bit too nitzhonot style, but still makes you smile widely. The 4th track was produced by the one who collected and released this compilation – Gai Edri "The Wonderboy". This track is loaded with a sad feeling that brings up a strong connotation of the immortal track "Spirtual Healing" that was written by Juan "The Muses Rapt". The 5th track was produced by Michael Anenburg, here in his Subra alias. This track is a bit Full On-ish compared to the other tracks in this compilation, but still puts on some high standards and has an excellent sound and has an old goan- layered production. The 6th track was produced by Kobi O'Hanna, AKA Ediya, a new talent that was adopted by the OiG team, the first track out of two which appear in this compilation. This track opens with the legendary sample of "Let there be light". The track puts emphasis on percussion and spiral sounds. In this part of the compilation (excluding track 10) we move from Goa style to minimal, down-tempo and progressive club. And we have 3 producers that contributed their works here. The 7th track was produced by Gili Hadar, AKA Alt Loc, which is also a new talent adopted by the OiG team. This track has a "pumping" bassline, lots of layers and music that’s bits&pieces-built. This track has a surprising ending. The 8th track was produced by Lior Schwartz, AKA Apis. Lior is also a new talent adopted by the OiG team. He supplies us here with a massive and high BPMed track full of melodies, layered sounds and a voice of a Tibetan priest… A nice track with a twist in the end. The 9th track was produced by Eliran O'Hayon, AKA Qawa Beat, which had his promo released by OiG earlier this year. This track consists of groovy-ish minimal trance with a night feel to it. His work here resembles much the Danish minimal style, emphasizing on percussion, sound effects and a "sound-in, sound-out" method. In the 10th track we have Ediya again. This track resembles much the early works of California Sunshine – efficient upliftings and smiling sounds. In The closing track we have Afgin again with a down-tempo track. Here we have acidic TB-303 squelches that remind us of the legendary Art of trance/Union Jack groups. This track is here to bring you a true relaxation. There was no post-production mastering made in this compilation. The mastering you hear in each track is the original mastering made by the artists. Just like the good all days. To conclude it all: This compilation will remind and still reminds us all of beloved and non-commercialized old sound production just like the days when Goa trance was at its peak. Translated and edited from Hebrew to English by GoLeM of the OiG team. The original Hebrew review was written by X-Ripper, AKA Metalingus, of the OiG team. This release you may and should pass on to anyone who is fond of this wonderful genre. Enjoy!
