  1. word! booka shade is cool, or m.a.n.d.y, or all border community, the mfa, dominik eulberg is also nice and deep, but more technoish than prog.house. also if you like it reallyyyyy deep and minimal try martinez or trentemoller. but, my special recommendation for today "Argy-love dose" on pokerflat recordings, ive been listening to that one like crazy. oh, a little bit older : "bermuda triangle-mooger fooger" as deep and emotional as it gets
  2. Well, I have been thinking about this subject matter a lot lately, and the conclusion I reached is that i would like a psytrance party without any music from the regular psygenre. Weird you think? Hers my reasoning: First, of all, i was attracted to this scene because of 1. the music , and 2. the parties ( that means atmosphere, people, decoration, the "everything can go attitude", the low egos etc...). Whats happening today: 1: 98% percent of the music released into the psyscene is shit. It is not psychedlic at all, its ravemusic with rolling basslines and digital farting sounds. Its not trance and its not psychedelic, therefore the term "psytrance" is blasphemy, IMHO. Trance in its original sense is hypnotic and not fast at all. Psychedelic means mindexpanding, ethereal and trippy. The current "Psytrance" is as far from that as you can go. Its fast, abrasive, cheesy and straight hit to the face, theres nothing, absolutely nothing, trippy or minexpanding about it. However, theres tons of music around that is trancy and psychedelic, it just doesnt come from this scene (with a few exceptions, of course). Just as an example, Dominik Eulbergs recent album "Flora&Fauna" released on the Techno label Traum Schallplatten, or most of the "Border Community" label output, ot the stuff from trentemoller, martinez, the pokerflat label etc..... 2: The Psy parties as such, excluding the music, here in germany are awesome, especially the summer festivals. I like the vibe, the people, the surroundings etc..., the parties are a lot better than techno or house parties Logical Conclusion: Only real psychedelic trance, mostly stuff that is from outside this scene, should be played at the parties, the rest of the party can stay as it is.
  3. shoulf have asked him how many types of lice live in his dreads/beard and if he names them individually?
  4. Well, i dont have any promo tracks cause im not important enough (btw, I know how to play with CDjs, i just dont like it). And, I started Djing in 95, and back then there was ONLY Vynil. THen as the Psyscene progressed more and more towards CD, my taste got less and less psy. And all other scenes are mostly vynil based. And those few tracks that werent released on Vynils I wouldnt be able to spin. THen during the last 2 years my DJing came to a standstill due to work and stuff, so i didnt spin anything. But now, I got Mixvibes , a tool that lets you play computerfiles with turntables, so im back in business with full effort and enthusiasm!!!! Expect some of my mixes posted here in the near future (i gotta sort out the proper way to record, first...) to mylo, when you are in berlin lets jam!!!! i used to be in hamburg a lot (cause im originally from bremen), but i havent been in a while, another reason to go!
  5. Michele Adamson is a hippie, and I HATE HIPPIES!!!
  6. just because im a gaysatanichippie doesnt mean im a homo, what makes you think that?
  7. i do! only goahippies use cdjs, those that need bpm counter or the bpms written on the cover so they can calculate the pitch,lame......
  8. dont photoshop a cd in her hand, only fags and goahippies play with cds, a real djs plays vynil!!!
  9. go DJ Moni!! now you just need to find a groupie to kneel underneath the dj table to service you!!
  10. its not that i dont like it, it sure is good, nice sounds, well crafted, and im using some songs in my mixes quite often, they always work well and mix well, actually, they mix too well, it blends with everything without providing the "what track is that?" feeling. The thing is, If this CD would have been released two years ago, I would have been stunned, but now in the meantime i have heard too many similar sounding tracks, and I need more surperises to keepme interested in the long run.
  11. Very Simple: The Full-On bassline , the epidemy of all evil
  12. of course negative reviews are informative, and IMHO 95% of all Psy releases are absolute shit, but i dont buy those releases, and if i by accident buy a bad record, i throw it away and dont think of it, rather than wasting my precious time. The only time I openly bash is when someone I used to like turns shit, then I speak up.
  13. I personally like both DP and Profanes reviews, particularlry just BECAUSE they alwas use the same format, you know where to look, and they are both well informed and very constructive. I personally think profanes reviews are more helpful, the only reason being that I can judge Profanes taste a lot better, DPs taste is very broad, he likes stuff i absolutely despise, but thats personal taste and has nothing to do with the qualityof the review itself. The only time I ever do Full-length reviews is when I really like something a lot. My reviews are always very subjective and therefore the record has o tickle my urge to express myself, otherwise i cant be bothered. When I was between jobs and had nothing to do I did a couple of long reviews that were not so positive, but i wont do that anymore, im not gonna spend my freetime on bashing something.
  14. Even though the production isnt all that great, Theres something about that Kalimax track i find very appealing, probably the fact that it is so "Naive". It just reminds me of my teenager years in some weird way, ialways have to think about my first "Raves" and my first girlfrieds, first kiss etc.... I really dont know why, because back in those days I was mostly into Happy Hardcore ...anyways, cool track. That Human Blue track is also cool, I like it more pitched at -6 , but it is a flaShaback to old scando days, good tracK. and last but not least, 2The mammoth hunters Never fail to excite, classy remix!
  15. does it cost money? where can i get it? edit: i just checked, 463 €, out of the question
  16. so, i guess ill give you all an update. I ended up getting mixvibes, not final scratch, its an imitation of final scratch, because the guy in the store said it is a lot stabler than FS and it can do the same thing, but it costs only 280 €, not 550€ like FS1.5 or 800€ like FS 2.0. So I figured if the guy in the store recommends me the cheap stuff, even though I was prepared to pay the 550€, it must be good, AND IT IS!!! I can do everything I wanted to do with it, and its some mucH fun. Its like having a whole record store at my feet, I can actually spin my whole computer. I already raped the Kompakt MP3 Store and The conzoom mp3 store (www.conzoom.com, highly recommended for electro house/minimal). I can actually buy a 12" for 2€ now instead of 7€, and that combined with the "pirate loot" I've compiled over the years, AWESOME!!!!!! So there only remains one question, how do you guys record your sets. Do you have any recommended software to do so? Where to get it? I cant wait to record like three million mixes in the next couple of weeks, but I dont wanna do the old tape thing again....Please help!!
  17. i like dominik eulberg, trentemoller, dirt crew, m.a.n.d.y., booka shade, nathan fake etc... theres some pretty cool stuff out
  18. i just hit the reply button without thinking of the consequences, oh well....
  19. nice review, exactly my opinion, good but boring, if that makes any sense
  20. no, he comes from a TECHNO BACKGROUND; YOU GOTTA CHECK TECHNO SITES (oops caps lock) , like music-head.de , for example, there you can listen to samples, his best track is his remix to "the difference it makes" by the mfa
  21. if you are into prog check out superpitcher, he comes from a techno background, but hes awesome!!
  22. maybe its not exactly like mover and grovers, but try the vibration compilations from medium records, the best is vibration 2, its absolutely amazing, but 1 and 3 arent bad either.
  23. i am on to something, theres one good track on movers and groovers 2, dumbfound by logic bomb, and thers the pop the question 12 " by beat bizarre, the rest aint cool
