Marmite is definitely at least a 9/10, what a great track, better than many tracks on Rewind. Honey is cool, too, but the other one is better.

I really like this release, this is a real killer, as is to be expected from Vibrasphere. I prefer Airfield, killer percussion and that wuommm sound that always comes in. Urban Grace is more chilled, good, too, but tends to get a little boring. Anyway, 9/10 for Airfield, 7/10 for Urban Grace

I totally agree with the above reviewers, this is one of the best of the year, and its been a good year ( in my opinion at least). Magnetrixx has a very distinct style, that sounds extremely good on loud system, but that also sounds good on your walkman. His basslines are very precise and synthetic-sounding, and they give the tracks a very alien-bouncey and hypnotic feeling. The percussion is very crisp and lends a lot drive to the tracks, but it is the use of voice-samples that make Magnetrixx stand out from the rest. I never heard samples so well incorporated into tracks, they always come at just the right times and they feel like they are part the whole sound-picture. That gives all tracks a very subconscious feel, because you hear all these distant sounding voices lurking between synthetic sounds and explosion-like effects. Because of that subconscious feel, it might take a couple of listens, but then you will be hooked for te long run. I played this at parties, heard it at parties and listened to it at home ( a lot), and it always works. Best track is the title track Trittschall, but all others are excellent as well. Even though this realease is definitely on the minimal side, fullon people should like this, too, because this is highly psychedelic, just in a subconscious way.(9,5/10)

Vacuum is incredible, one of my fav tracks

I Totally agree Freak 51, this is highly addictive. I listened to it in an endless loop for five hours straight in the car, and it puts you in this very "sensisized" mood, like meditation, you forget whats going on but you still are conscious, and the music is flowing around you even though you barely notice. Perfect to mellow out after a long night or to just relax. I'll go with you Freak 51, 9,5/10

Actually, "fiasko" is the only track I really dislike, its doesnt fit on the CD at all, it completely breaks the flow. That happens when you let Bigwigs make chill-out, its not really chill-out. The annoyance factor is around 10/10 on that one, and its not very innovative at that. Anyways, I like the rest of the CD, especially the KAB tracks and the Fingertwister remix. Son Kite sounds good, too, but they could have left out those voices. Ooze is another favourite, and Healer is typical Healer, very New_Age. Except "Fiasko" I like every track, a very good Chill-out compilation, not too psychedelic, but very cool. Oh yeah, and the coolest Cover in Ages, as usual with DS, even though this tops all the other ones. Even my mom loved the cover, and that says something. 8.5/10

I already reviewed this above under the name anonymous ( forgot to put my name)and gave it 8/10. I just wanna say Track 2 "Trouble" is an absolute masterpiece, it gets better and better with every listen and deserves 10/10. Noma is essential for every psychedelic music lover, the ultimate Tunnelvision trip...

Darshans best work, 2,3,4,5, are all extremely good the rest not as good, but four tracks that are really worth it, buy it!!!

Atmos had sex with an Israeli Woman...and nine month later, a son was born: S-Range Thats at least what this release sounds like in my opinion. Not as effortless as Atmos is but with nice sounds, lots of positive vibes and cool samples and Space effects. Nothing Groundbreaking, but good accesible feel-good Trance that anyone can like, melodic and minimal people alike. Even the mainstream Trance scene can dig this, the Track 2001 feels like System F sat in on the production with that epic break, but not too cheesy, just right. My favs are tracks 6 and 7, 1 is good, too. 7.5/10

Well, I have waited a while to give my opinion on this piece of audio artistry, because I still keep finding new sounds and effects on every listen. After listening to the new Ticon CD for a while, I had thought they had surpassed Son Kite as the Top Act from D.S , but i was WROOOONNNNGGGG. This is so well produced with such precision, intelligence and subtleness, it's mindblowing. All these little sounds going from left to right, morphing and steadily increasing, crystal clear percussion and great composition make this by far the Album of the year in my opinion. Son Kite has gotten so much better since Minilogue was released. THe variety of tracks is amazing, too. It ranges from full-on "Hi-Fi Stomp Sessions" to very Technoish tracks to soulful emotional tracks like Bitter Sweet and Aiwana, of course not forgetting the already released killer "Where is my drum", that already blew my mind last year. There is something for everyone here on this CD, my personal favourites being "Bitter Sweet", which sounds like Ticon, but much more intense and psychedelic and with an even phatter baseline, "Aiwana" ( great use of vocal samples), "Driveshaft"( driving, as the name implies) and the good old "Where is my Drum". I have to say that D.S. has become my favourite labe nowadays. You can hear and see that these guys really have fun at what their doing because of the great attention to detail and quality not only in their music, but also the REcordcovers and the Website are unsurpassed by any other label. If this is not 10/10, I dont know what is.

I prefer the otherr side, Dark Entries, really great slow track, "Zombietrance" if you will, i still think its really well done and i'll give it 8/10. THe other one I dont know, doesnrt really go nowhere, nice female sample though...

My friend who is into Happy Hardcore loves this, that says it alll..... :-(

I need only one word to describe this piece of music: AVERAGE Everything about this is average. The beats are not phat, and not thin. Its not really melodic, but it isnt minimal either. It's not pumping, but it isnt smooth either. There are some good ideas, but they are not really followed through on. It is pleasant to listen to, but it doesnt grab me ( at all actually). This is music for the lowest common psytrance denominator. Nobody will be annoyed by this or hate it, but also nobody will love and go crazy about it. Tarsis Prod. should have stolen a track title from Atmos and used it as the title for this CD: "Average Beverage" Because that is what it is. A formerly tasty beverage that has been sitting out in the sun and that has gone stale and all the carbonation has dissipated into thin air. so, my grade is exactly average 5/10. THe SBK CD by the same guy was much much better.

This is what real trance should sound like. Its not really psychedelic trance, but pure hypnotic trance, with tribal rhythms and warm deep sounds floating around everywhere. Ticon manages to make you loose yourself in their music with such ease and skill, everything sounds perfect and everything flows. Just sit down and let yourself get swept away!! My favourites are Tracks 1,4,5,6,7 but No 6 "Mammoth Hunters"and No.7 "Super Model Girlfriend' stand out. No.6 is a trip back to the ice ages with heavy rhythms, Mammoth screaming and intense "boiuungs" stampeding across the soundscapes. No.7 is simply one of the most beautiful tracks I have heard in a while, it's like a wet dream of my Super Model Girlfriend, Great!! 9,5/10, Great CD!!!.

You're right, this EP is pretty cool, it's definitely different. I dont know about 10/10 though, for me its more like 7.5/10. Iboga has had problems with mastering in the past but it has gotten better, so this EP is a step back to its earlier releases. Too bad, because these tracks are very innovative in a deep gloomy kind of way. Sometimes I wonder if it is supposed to sound this unmastered, it gives the tracks a very different mysterious feel, but on the other hand it makes these tracks very hard to mix, because whatever way you bring these tracks into the mix, it is very hard to keep the tension in the lower frequencies, if you know what I mean?

why are all tracks except Ticon and Logic Bomb only 5 to 6 minutes? Is someone maybe trying to appeal to short attention span radio mainstream crowd. I only know three tracks of this CD, Ticon, Logic Bomb and one of those Zorba tracks, the first two are good, but Zorba sucks. Judging by the tracklength I havent missed anything by not knowing the other ones. Too bad Tip is getting into packaging consumer and Radio friendly 5 minute tracks.

The only artist I havent heard of is Trancefeld. The rest is known. Great compilation, I dont have it, but I know almost all tracks. Great morning sound!!

Well, Atmos was my favourite artist and he still kind of is. All tracks on here are very, very, good and I think there is a lot of soul in all of them, much more than in other artists, which is why I like Atmos so much. Old Painless is perfect morning sound, three orange lights is one of the best chil-out tracks ever made, Mark 13 is very slow, but I like it, its something different. I think track 4 is Mental Luggage and 5 is Random Landlord, they mixed that up. Both are good in their own way, Mental Luggage is very uplifting and has perfect sounds that fit together like they were meant to be together. Random Landlord is very interesting, too, dark noises that seem like thhey are talking to you. Lobsterfunk I dont like that much and the last two tracks are known, Klein aber Doctor being the absolute bomb that we know it is. The last track is a very nice remix of always in Control. Anyway, if this was all unreleased material, 9,5/10. BUT IT ISNT. There are only four songs on here that are previously unreleased, Old Painless, Three Orange Lights, Mark 13 and Lobsterfunk. Mental Luggage was on some MDMA compilation, Random Landlord on the Live from Germany CD, Klein aber Doktor is very old and the original of Always in Control was on the re:evolution2. If you are really into Atmos like I am there is not much to be discovered here, to me its more like a new EP that came out. If you dont have any Atmos yet, GO GET IT!!!. Cause then its really worth it. I am still waiting for the real follow up to Headcleaner, this some intermediate thing, I guess thats why they call it Atmos and Friends.BUT the music is still good after all, and thats all that counts. I'd still rather buy these four new Atmos tracks for the price of an LP then buy 8 unreleased tracks by most other artists that just sound soulless and flat, like IM for example, cause Atmos songs just have soul and they feel alive. There is always so much to discover in Atmos songs, I can listen to them over and over and over and they just dont get boring.

The first 3 or 4 minutes of Isolation are 11/10, then it gets lost in 303 weirdness, to bad. Whenever I hear the beginning of that track I picture a lizardman who is out on the town to rape innocent Virgins. Very creepy and sleazy. The other good track is "Secret", and this one is good throughout, very cool flute and beat. These two tracks are very good, the rest is average, if its worth it, you decide.

V/A - Progopoly Artist: Various Title: Progopoly Label: Plastik Park Date: 2001 Track listing: 01. 08'18" Kilophil : Trockendockrocker 02. 08'12" Phony Orphants : Diving In The Dessert 03. 06'04" Bitmonx : Noisy 04. 09'40" Sonic Freakuency : Erastotenes 05. 08'30" Charasmatix : 23rd Century 06. 07'48" Bitmonx Vs Eargear : Monkearness 07. 06'44" Bigwigs : Vibra Fon 08. 08'42" Antix : Drift 09. 08'56" Magnetrix : Projectile Review: A very good debut Compilation from the german label Plastik Park. It starts out with Kilophil aka XV Kilist&Phillip who deliver a straight forward stomper for the dancefloor. No.2 "Diving in the desert" is one of the highlights of this Lp, typical Iboga style, dark gloomy yet "funky" at the same time. No.3 also is a killer, it sounds like Atmos with a thumping german style beat. No.4 is average, but No.5 Charismatix makes that all up with a really well produced track and cool sounds that will send a tickle down your spine, especially on a good stereo system or good headphones. No.6 is also rather boring, I prefer Bitmonx & Eargear's solo stuff. Bigwigs as usual melts my braimatter with one of the craziest tracks I have heard in a while. Bigwigs should be given an award for coming up with the craziest sounds and basslines. No.8 is average again, but No.9 Projectile is Magnetrixx best track so far, especially the first 3-4 minutes. All in all there are 3 average tracks (4,6,8) and the rest ranges from good to excellent. Definitely worth buying, especially if you wanna get to know some of the best young artists that are coming up these days. 8,5/10 Attention Vynil buyers: You can buy this compilation also on 2 double Ep's, but on Ep 1 the quality of side C which has two tracks on it is horrible. Get the Cd, those two tracks are almost unplayable on Vinyl.

Ticon - Input, Output, Caput Artist: Ticon Title: Input, Output, Caput Label: Surround Sounds Date: 2001 Track listing: 01. Input, Output, Caput 02. Cuckooland Review: In my opinion the best 12" released in 2001 so far. Track No.1 is as groovy and warm as anything I have ever heard. It is also highly addictive, I listened to it about 20 times yesterday. I don't know what it is exactly with this track, but it is just unbelievable and gets better every time you listen it. Track No.1 is just as good as the first one, but it is a little more upbeat and a definite dancefloor killer with lots of breaks and the typical Ticon big warm bassline feel. If you listen to it you know what I mean.10/10

V/A - Mahasuka Artist: Various Title: Mahasuka Label: Medium Date: 2000 Track listing: 01. 08'14" Daniel Vernunft : Molecular 02. 07'28" Dr DNA : Die Theunissen Konstante 03. 09'36" Atmos : Osmos Kosmos 04. 07'08" Big Wigs : Pierswy Raz 05. 06'51" Snug As A Bug : Digestive 06. 08'15" Quirk : Dance With The Devil (Intact Instinct Mix) 07. 07'25" Parasence : Trouble Killer 08. 08'22" Bitmonx And Haldolium : Nitron Review: Another great comp. from Medium, this time a little darker than usual, because it was compiled by DJ Mahasuka, member of Intact Instinct. The first track is not very memorable, Daniel Vernuft (Shiva Chandra) has done better. The second track is produced by Andreas Krueger ( Der Dritte Raum), and it shows. Groovy beat and trippy little effects, this is prog. trance as it should be. No.3 Atmos is of course good, but there are better Atmos Tracks out there. No 4 Big Wigs is just MINDBLOWING, this song is so intense. Minimal, yet not minimal at all, this is what I call fully Psychedelic. And that funny little sample "I'm going to sing a song in Polish, maybe you will not understand the words..." No.5 is good, too, typical Snug as a Bug fare, dark and quirky.No.6 is another great track, really hard to describe, but I like it. No.7 is Russian madness good for the peak hours, but i wouldnt listen to it at home.No.8 is after Big Wigs the second best track here, soundscapes so dark that you think you will never see the light again, and then it comes: "bleep-bleep-bleep-bleeeep"YES!!!! Bigwigs gets10/10, Haldolium and Bitmonx 9.5/10 and the rest really good, too. 8.5/10 for the whole comp.

V/A - Vibration 2 Artist: Various Title: Vibration 2 Label: Medium Date: 2000 Track listing: 01. 06'42" Tarsis : Sacral Excursion 02. 07'52" Human Blue : Sandal Woods 03. 10'07" Bitmonx : Pipemode 04. 09'37" Amorphous : Return Of Shalam (Atmos Mix) 05. 07'45" S-Range : Illegal Software 06. 08'15" Prex : Access Code 07. 09'30" Human Blue : Electric Harmony 08. 10'01" Noma : Soon Review: There are so many great tracks on this compilation, ranging from hard Scando attacks (Prex) to soft fluffy morning beauty (Noma). These two tracks are also the best two on this comp., because Prex "Access Code" is an aggressive minimal monster that will drive its dark synths right into your brain and Noma"s "Soon" is a beautiful ten minute journey with a little melody that makes your spine tingle. Human Blue's Electric Harmoy is also very beautiful, even though some might say its cheesy. Tracks 2,3,4and are amazing, too, the only one i dont really like is track 1, something doesnt sound right about it. Mediums Compilations are in my opinion the best compilations of previously unreleased music that are coming out these days. There is always a good mix of tracks and all tracks are usually of really high quality. Members of this site dont seem to notice Medium very much, but I think they really should, because this is high quality stuff.8.5/10
