making variations in the loop
Daze replied to ajay_spunky's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
Well for example, if you have a base melody you can try to add some extra notes here and there between the base melody notes. Make sure they apply to the same melody scale, and that the extra notes don't interfere with the base melody. If done correctly you will get a slightly different melody, that... kind of is the same Experiment with this, it's the only way to learn! Good luck. -
Ah yes I see now, gonna test the demos, thx man

Hmm are you sure they are available as VST? Thx for your help.

Guitar Psy: Cybernetika - Icestorms
Daze replied to Cybernetika's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
Well made indeed... although not really my style either -
Are there any good vst synths for psy-effects? I know Albino, but are there any others? Appreciate your help.

Thanks man

[Dark Goa]Cybernetika - Starbound (192kbps, full)
Daze replied to Cybernetika's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
That kick is indeed very sweet, and the atmosphere rocks - instantly got me thinking of Anno Domini (the track). I agree with that the track should be shorter, the buildup / structure is superb, but each part is too long in my opinion. Plus I think you should decrease the reverb on the voice samples, cause I can't hear what he's saying (could just be me though ) I must say I love that mix of the dark and more melodic goa style you got here, that's exactly what I would like to achieve myself, and it's what I like listening to... Nice one! -
I like your effects very much, and the samples work well. Many times it sounds weird though when new melodies are introduced, like at 00.52, perhaps make the short break right before it a little more apparent or something like that. The same thing happens more times - the melodies just feel a bit too sudden in my opinion I love the break at 4.00, very nicely done. I think you just have to work on your melodies, and perhaps make an individual melody pattern, cause the downpitching of the synths at for example 5.38 sounds pretty weird. Also, I think the kind of pretentious break would fit a lot better in the track if a melody with the same kind of dreamy feeling was added. As mentioned before though, very nice effects.

Here goes! http://rapidshare.de/files/3091860/CPSONG.mp3.html Tell me what you think

If you decide to start with Fruity (which I recommend you to do), check out www.loopy.tk Great basic tutorials that helped me out a lot when I first started with music production.

New song, feedback appreciated!

Hehehe Well like I said I really didn't change a lot, but it's not like I can stop you, eh? -
New song, feedback appreciated!
Daze replied to Daze's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
Okay the track is now slightly updated. Not much change... but I added some effects and made the lead a bit more "full" -
New song, feedback appreciated!

Thanks man! Very nice feedback, I'm gonna work on what you said and update this track, cause I agree on all points. I am using Fruityloops at the moment, with a bunch of VST's. The baseline is made with Audiorealism Bassline, and the pad and lead is made with Vanguard. I also use Soundforge and Hip Hop eJay for detail editing of effect sounds, and I use the effects from Waves VST package a lot! I think that's it -
my new song Night Terrors, a lotta ideas here :)

_VERY_ nice -
I finished this song yesterday, I would really like some feedback! URL: http://www.rb-servers.nl/daze/Daze%20-%20Battery.mp3 Thanks in advance! / Daze

Very nice track, I love it Some of the voice samples do however feel a bit random, just like in many of your previous tracks. They do contribute to the overall feeling and character of the track, but personally I'd like to hear more carefully chosen samples The track is very nice though, superb tempo and feeling. I could without doubt pay for music like this. Keep it up

Thanks a lot guys! I really appreciate your help, and I want you to know that everything you have said here has helped me

Very relaxing track Nice melodies with a different twist, although most of the synths used sound very... Fruityloopish You might wanna tweak them a bit harder. I don't know if you wanted feedback on this one as it is an old track of yours, anyway, I just wanted you to know that I like it
-
Hello? I don't wanna nag, but I would really like to know... am I on to something nice here or totally on the wrong track?
-
Well I think everyone will agree with that this is a very nice tune! Great melodies, great structure, great production and so on... I guess the only negative thing I can think of is that it gets a bit repetetive after a while in my ears - perhaps make it a bit shorter or try to variate the melodies a bit more. This might just be me though as I'm not really into this kind of music Great work though, keep that up! / Daze

Anyone else? I would really like to know what you think about this song and its style.
-
Pretty nice one! I would however advice you not to use the premade Fruityloops effect sounds too much, unless you edit them beyond recognition. Feels pretty dumb to hear a sound that you know comes directly from a program... for example the "Activate" thingy has to go ;p Personally I would also like it if the tempo would increase a bit towards the end of the song, preferably by adding a low hat between every kick or something like that, try experimenting some. I must say I liked this song though. It's really not my style but somehow I fell for it anyway! ;p
-
Thanks Carnage, appreciate your help! I agree about the bassline... gonna try some new settings for it. About the quality on the track as a whole, I kind of added sounds with the same frequency on purpose (to a certain limit ofcourse), to get that kind of "muddy", dark sound I wanted... it's hard to explain, but I think it sounds good ;p
-
Here is a new tune I've been working on, it starts out pretty dark but gets melodic towards the end ;p http://www.rb-servers.nl/daze/song.mp3 Feedback is very much appreciated! I've, as some of you know, had a lot of problems with my basslines... I hope it's better this time - tell me what you think. I would also like to know if it sounds weird when the synth melody makes it first appearance... I can't really tell Thanks in advance! / Daze
