He is around. Charlie = Radi6404
-
This chap (dirtyphreak) seems to love resurrecting dead topics.
-
He has some good tracks and I have bought a couple of his CDs. But he needs to inject a bit more quality control and publish fewer tracks.
-
Must we resurrect this thread? I thought it had run its course.
-
For the avoidance of doubt -> Radi6404.

Wow. Cant believe people still respond to Psynews's oldest troll.

Tech-house more "trancing" than psychedelic and goa?
pedro replied to Procyon's topic in Other Electronica
Nonsense. A sweeping comment which is completely wrong. It may not be your cup of tea, but tech-house can absolutely keep people dancing. Pedro -
Tri Repetae is the best. Much prefer it over the less accomplished Amber.

Not only can animals perceive psy-trance as music, but some of them are even able to differentiate between progressive, full-on, old goa and other types of psy-trance. The funny thing is that most of these animals have no clue about techno or house music. Strange. Pedro

Another great Talpa release. One of the very few psy trance artists that I do not have to preview the tracks before purchasing the CD. His best work since the The Art of Being Non. As always, his downtempo tracks are as good if not even better than the faster ones. Recommended, Pedro

A little bit more variety would have been nice and sometimes he is almost too smooth (however, this is something you can accuse many of that prog trance school). Would be great if he took more risks in next album. Nevertheless this is an enjoyable release by an obviously quite talented artist. Favourite tracks 2,3,4,6,8. E-Clip and Egorythmia sets were one of the highlights at Boom 2012 for me. In fact, I bought this CD because of his Boom performance. Recommended. Pedro

I also found the both the bassline tiresome. Not only that, but I think the album too short of ideas and inspiration. Was it a rushed job? To my ears, his previous release was better. Not recommended despite the talent. Pedro

Very good release. Tracks 1-4, 6,8 were my favourites. Although not ground-breaking stuff, it is quite well done and much fun. Was really surprised how much I enjoyed since it is not normally my favourite style. Highly recommended. Pedro

This is not a rumour and it is certainly not my intention to start one. Nor am I suggesting that this was due to the disenchanted people who left the organisation. I am saying is that I do hope it was not, and by that I do mean that this is a worrisome possibility that has crossed my mind. At the same time (and for the avoidance of doubt), if I was going to hazard a guess, I would say that it is probably more likely that it was NOT due to the organisational differences ahead of the festival. Hope this clears up any confusion. Pedro

Drugs will always be part of certain type of festivals, events or shows. This includes psy-trance, of course. I have been doing drugs at festivals since the 80s and they make it a lot, and I mean a lot, more interesting. To expect thousands of people to come to a psy-trance and to have no drug dealing or drug use going on, is like going to a church service and expect to see no praying. How much authorities choose to crack down on this behaviour and on these festivals in general is contingent on and affected by all sorts of factors. But if they want to really crack down, there is plenty of scope to do so. And not only at festivals. There is a lot that could still be done, and which is not. For example, police could easily put drug dogs at the doors of major nightclubs. In fact, London police already do drug dog stop points outside certain tube stations on some weekends - lovely! We are lucky that on average, the festivals are fairly easy going. But at the same time, a little bit more care from some of us would be helpful. Being too obvious about the drugs does not make festival promoters' lives any easier. It seems to me that the Hungarian police's hand was forced due to the TV report. They had to do something and this has nothing to do with the Fidiesz party in power, even if its leader is a real nutcase. According to friends who were there, the whole police action, although unpleasant and unwelcome, wasn't completely over the top. Inevitably, there were some unfortunate victims, the police could not go back empty-handed. What does bother me is the thought (hopefully untrue) that perhaps some of the people who left the Ozora organisation during the bust-up ahead of this year's party, may have had something to do with it. Very decent and above average compilation from Iono. Favourite track was Nerso (6), but then I really do like his style and really liked his album. Definitely, we need more from him. Less impressed with track 2 (good, not great), but really enjoyed 1,3, 5 and even 9. Recommended. Pedro

Another vote for downtempo compilation of the year from me. Very good quality. Favourite tracks 4,5,8,9,10. Also thought Memphidos had the best track. Recommended. Pedro

Really enjoyed this release. Several cracking tunes and sustained quality throughout. Favourite tracks - 3,4,5,9,10. Zyce is clearly doing good work! Recommended. Pedro

Really enjoyed this CD! Glad CBL tried something different. Better than Interloper. I think this has its own style, as many drone CDs do. Very different from Biosphere's Substrata...which is neither drone for like 23. Recommended. Pedro

Awww, come on, Elysium...you must be joking! These are forums open to discussion. Chichke's tastes can indeed be debated (as can mine!). One could argue that perhaps we can all be a bit more diplomatic on these forums and that we could possibly also be a bit softer on a new member. It is sweet of you to intervene in the way you have, Elysium. Furthermore, it would not surprise me if some here at Psynews share Chichke's taste in psy-trance. But not me - I feel it is typically Israeli (well, mostly Israeli) cheese crap that is best left alone. Pedro

When I have been in the mood for something a little bit extreme, Somatic Frenzy has provided me with a fair bit of fun. I enjoyed their Invisible Hand compilation in 2008, and I think Mighty Quinn records have possibly done an even better job this time round. Starts off with a weak track but then takes off nicely. Favourite tracks are 2,3,4,6,8,10 (quite a few). Recommended. Pedro

After listening to Asura's 360, I have to say I find it more entrancing than CBL's Interloper. Same goes for Electrypnose's Sweet Sadness. Still, a number 3 spot on my ambient psy trance list for 2010 (year to date) still makes for a positive recommendation from myself. Pedro
-
I usually do not buy Suntrip releases because their style of psy trance is not my cup of tea. However, Electrypnose is different. He had already established his ambient psy credentials with the superb Subliminal Melancholies in 2006 and once again he has put out an absolute great release. Liked all the tracks with the exception of number 6. Frankly, there should be more hype about this album, because it is quite good indeed. Highly recommended. Pedro

Enjoyable release from Asura. Definitely an improvement on his previous effort. This along with Electrypnose's Sweet Sadness are the most impressive ambient psy-trance releases that I have heard so far this year. I think this is actual more fun than fellow label mate's Carbon Based Lifeforms's Interloper despite the latter's good knack for melodies. Favourite tracks 1,3,4,6,7,8. Recommended. Pedro
