I've heard Alien Protein, Equator, Sharp and parts of their first album. Equator is the best i think.

Wow... This is good stuff! So funny but still tweaky and very cool musically. track 3 sounds like psy but a bit more experimental. The rest is a weird mix of all the styles that end with 'core' and some noise and punk It's really the definition of hilarious

I'm surprised you even remember me =) to astro cortex: wow! Psy at the age of 11. That's not uncool either. Well i like this old stuff because it's more open minded than goa i think, and has an ancient, exciting feeling about it. You know, it's funny how electronic 90's music can feel way older than pop from the 60's or something. And these 'good tastes' are entirely stolen from the oldschool review section =)

I've ordered it (it said on amazon that it was psy harmonics version but if it is the nova zembla one i wont get upset. it was pretty cheap). It sounded so great in the samples. Definately will review it here in a couple of weeks.

Maybe dark is not the right word. But certainly less morning than AP, pleiadians, some of hallucinogen, transwave and many other goa acts. I think it's more of a mindtrip than just sunny bright melodies. It's evolving, layered. i like it very much and maybe i've misunderstood something about morning, but ive always thought it was AP style. which is completely different from Dimension 5.

cinos has a point. for example, i've been listening to dimension 5 for some months and thought it sounded dark, underground, vicious, almost evil but with a touch of light. in a review here it was described as morning (i read it after listening)

i've never heard the term night psy before, it's a bit rediculous. But i'd say hux flux is typical psy while kindzadza is darker, very different and less cheerful in my opinion.

Cinos: if many people are making music that sounds excactly the same, it's easier to make a genre (ie darkpsy) instead of describe in each review: "this is a kind och trance with dark, monotonous bassline, many qwirks and stuff and usually no melodies, with more focus on effects. It makes you think about the colours brown, black and red. Sometimes darkish green too. Or i dunno what you think about when you listen to it but...." and so on. But genrewhoring to me is when people think they're superior because they know genres and hate people who call lets say hallucinogen morning.. or whatever.

I've ordered it now, but from amazon (my parents think saikosounds and psynews are too suspicious for their credit card numbers) along with a few other old good cd's I've been reading about here.
