I've been able to convert midi into wav through Garageband, but the results aren't really that impressive. Probably the best way to do it with that particular program is to import the midi file, then align one hit samples to the beat on different tracks... Good luck anyway.

Entheogenic - Pagan Dream Machine Love this track -
Doesn't have to be a psychedelic experience... could you post a sample of your voice reading an excerpt from a book? I can always give you lines that I have made up.

Anyone at all?

Yes, although this quote is not as fascinating as your other, much more fascinating quote.

Happy, if you can!

Hi! I'm writing a number of ambient/chill tracks and I would like some vocal work done. I want some original work produced - Terence McKenna is great to sample, but I would like some new voice in a track - he tends to be in quite a number of songs now! Maybe you had a psychedelic experience in a forest, or you wrote a poem down about mushrooms... Whatever, I would like to set a poem / tale / story etc to some music (maybe more depending on the quality of the writing!). Now this music MAY or MAY NOT be released - this obviously depends on the quality of my tracks and whether I can release them or not (fingers crossed) - but I would really appreciate it if someone could do this for me. Now, if you choose to participate, your text cannot be too long or I may have to cut it down. But keep it under say 1 minute (and 1 minute maximum). Your tale can be of anything, though I would appreciate it if you didn't tell about how your cat drank some milk whilst watching TV - or anything similar. So if you've got a mic, and some good writing skills (ENGLISH ONLY!!) then I'd love to be able to put music to your story! Post it here - I will accept minimum 192kbps stereo MP3 - please try to get a decent recording if at all possible. Use http://www.rapidshare.de for uploading! Love to hear from you! Ben

I'm working on promo material for record labels, so keep your fingers crossed. Thanks! Deepdrone, try again tomorrow or something.

I liked the chill mix of it... it's on one of the Classic Chillout albums. I'll check out their earlier stuff then, sounds right up my street.

I think so... Starts off with running river and footsteps, a few birds - then a nice little reverse cymbal into a lovely D minor pad chord sequence accompanied by various effects and a shaker groove playing straight 16ths. Percussion builds up and up, melody is provided by another pad - then gets into a nice kick groove at 100bpm, slow and pulsating - with a nice lead arpeggio - then bass enters, pad fades away but comes back in just a few bars later... more rivers and birds and track starts to build up again - now total length is 5:30 at the moment - still writing it! But I'm pleased, I wrote that today, and the arpeggio idea was coined on the piano a few days back. Now I just need to build up the song again - perhaps add in some Terence McKenna -
Were those the guys who produced the track 'Silence'?

Make sounds more interesting... Well... for a start, adding a large amount of reverb to a one hit sample, then reversing it can give a nice buildup effect - reversing just about anything can breathe life into your sample library - then there's also EQing, bitcrushers, flangers, phasers, delay, etc you can use!
-
It's designed to let you fall into a state of blissful sleep. The first disc anyway. Well, I did have my eyes closed and I was in bed... I have listened to it with staying awake and it is great music! Don't think I could fall asleep to Dead Cities - it doesn't have the organic qualities that Lifeforms has.
-
Glad it kept your attention! About 'shorter' sounds - like clicks and beeps - electronic noises you think? I'll give it a shot, for sure! Thanks for listening! The high frequencies have been eliminated now. Reverb is one of my loves - though I do tend to overuse it a little... I'll try and use it sparingly. Thanks for the luck, and to you and your 'Brain Frame' project too! Ben

Cinos - Great CD. In fact, first time I heard disc 1 was in my bed - fell asleep after 20 minutes. Amazing. What a trip. I suggest that anyone who has not got it should get hold of it immediately. Right now, bitches!
