nice one man, we already talked about this... one way or another the revolution has started
-
whatever suits you best man, coming from someone that has put an affort to get a website going i also understand part of your reasoning. The links issue, you have your reasons too... like it was mentioned you should consider dropping an intro with the link or a bit more content to beef the posts... but that's just a suggestion like it was mentioned before.

KINO OKO tracks for remixes available free
RAH replied to Kino Oko's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
you need to talk monkey -
i gave this one the mdma test not too long ago and to my surprise it passed with flying colours, unlike most of the dark and twisted genre...in my twisted book of twisted meanings that makes this twisted music, even better in a twisted way, without having to twist anything on itself... which... is, kind of twisted.

i liked the last one the most... the perspective is quite involving...

C.O.S.M!! i'm waiting for CC to release more stuff

i beg to differ, psynina exists. There is a little psynina in all of us. When children smiles, when lovers kiss, when grandpa hugs grandma... that is the truest essence of psynina...

Compilation: Musica Discordia Label: Gi'iwa Productions CAT: GPCD02 Sonic-energy: http://www.sonic-energy.net/core/content/view/287/2/ TAREZEN - say whot? HIRED GOONZ - sebastians dildo REALITY PIXIE - phloem of tlsg TAMLIN - abstructality SPIRITUS - billy's bootcamp SATTEL BATTLE - fuck it (ex uus rmx) SATTEL BATTLE - stupid computer HIRED GOONZ - seatangle NEURON COMPOST - seatangle ALRUNE vs THE BEAST - mac guyver ECT - jolly's return If you add up the stylistic variables of psychedelic trance on a worldwide basis, it doesn’t take Nostradamus to figure out something like Gi’iwa was just a matter of time. By that I mean, a loose bunch of Australian hippies that decided psy could still be deeply psychedelic and groovy, bringing back some of that Byron Bay energy incarnated, mixed with the Scando-craze wave that’s still hitting us left and right. The result took everyone by storm in 2004 with the critically acclaimed Schizm. The biggest question was off course, where had all these people been hiding? While the majority of labels in the scene feed of themselves on cannibalistic trends, Reece and the rest of the Ozzies were holding a bag of tricks –that in my opinion- was a few years ahead of it’s time, and the sales of those days might have reflected it; for such is the price of beginning trends instead of following them. Earlier this year, news of a second compilation started racing through the interweb and everyone from the Kilargh Kick Klub, to the dazed prog-heads, including the Jaded Psy Trancers Association, had no option but raise an eyebrow: “New Stuff from Gi’iwa? Nice…” So what is Musica Discordia? From the artist list we can see familiar faces a lot of Hired Goonz & co, Tsabeat and no Derango, no Vicious Spiral… bummer… guess they are trying a new thing. Yes they are, Musica Discordia has rid itself from the darker realms it showed before, keeping the trippy factor on it’s own. So just how happy / morning is it? It’s saturated, that’s why there is a sun rising in the cover… get it? Terezen (Gonzalo Laserna & Eki jokisalo) cracks it open with “Say Wh0t?” which sounds like Timbaland & Magoo stuck on a psy-funk phase. It’s lively, overly groovy and downright mainstream with the quality to back it up. I am in not in love it, but you might. “Sebastian’s Dildo” is most probably an x-rated story I have no interest in figuring out, so let’s delve on the music instead. The feeling is tropical, as some parts might sound like an extrapolation of the latest Caribbean Cruise commercial. I mean, plus the fluttering shit and the groovy atmosphere. Very light and entertaining, not forgetting the psychedelic aspects, off course. Reality Pixie (Darren Smith) is difficult to pin down. If the idea to watch the teletubbies on a heavy Hoffman has ever crossed your mind, this might come close to it. Wobbly candy-lines and tremendously psychedelic imagery. The thing is so darned cheddar it might actually scare you for a moment, especially on the breaks. It gets a little more ‘down to businesses’ later on though, even with the tremendously naïve aura. At this point in time, the material might just be daring enough to deemed original. I have been following Tamlin lately (including the release on Liquid Quit) and Jonas is getting better with each track. “Abstructality” Is a rhythmic orgy, deluged of metallic tings coming from every angle with the ultimate purpose of confusion. Geared mostly at the twisted heads, the rest will wonder why did he leave the best part of the track for the last minute? The way I see it is kind of like poking your tongue out at someone. Tamlin’s saying, “yeah, I could have ruptured your brain with that melodic treatment for 9 minutes, but I choose to do things differently... savour it while it lasts & deal with it…” Apparently, there is an album scheduled for next year, if someone asks though you didn’t hear that from me. Spiritus is another Finish new comer (at least to me) and it is clear some of the Suomi flair might have seeped in the production. A lot of old school funk, drumalism & trumpets. Slightly too upbeat for my taste. Sattel Battle graces our presence with two tracks. The first one is a remix from Ex Uus (I thought it was Exuus, but anyway), which you might have heard on Squeech as Spider’s Silk. “Fuck it” is a proper builder with a guitar/synth glissandi going on. Its old school all over again – good stuff. “Fucking Computer” continues with bouncy organic percussion, maintaining a strong melodic intent, with the nicest bass structures I have heard in a while. The lines match perfectly and its still trippy as all hell. This is ten times better than “Dotman”. “Seatangle” from Hired Goonz is strange. More than being a track -with music- it’s more like a sonic device to extend the timeless daze infinitum, lost in the moment thinking about pretty much nothing. Add weird noises, combine in such a way it melts your brain to jelly and don't forget the xylophone music. There is also a voice of someone that sounds a lot like Zack Delarocha, uttering something terribly important about the future of human kind, but we cannot understand a damn thing… Great. Neuron compost is Zack… I mean Reece on his own In the infamous Neuron Compost ensemble, displaying the kind of sound we had been waiting. Musical, and perversely mind-trashing at the same time… including the mini ritual moment by the end…. Classy stuff all the way – it was worth the wait. “Monkey Combat” from Schizm was amongst my favorite ones, so when Beast & Alrune unleashed “McGuyver” I was hoping for Swiss knife versatility & I was not disappointed. Extremely varied and devoid of a dull moment. Are those voices saying “crackhead?” yeah, seems to describe it quite aptly. Etc is Leigh Griffiths from jolly old London, closing the shindig with… more disco/funk trip-tastico like is the signature with Gi’iwa. Further than that is just confusing to tell… I’m still at a loss as of how I should feel about this compilation. It’s good for sure, but I’m thinking the great majority of people that got it are in my situation,– still trying to figure out what in the world was that rawkus that just flew by. I think the last little sample perfectly describes my confusion “Everything is perfectly alright now, we are fine… we are all fine here, now –thank you- how are you?” You can tell they took their time putting this together and as such, it is something that needs to settle in the mid before calling out any judgments. The bottom line is, that there is bottom line… if its groovy morning music you are after, this should be looked into immediately.

Artist: Salakavala Album: Fractal Fishing Label: Faerie Dragon CAT: FDREC03 Sonic-energy.net: http://www.sonic-energy.net/core/content/view/286/2/ 01. LE Trick [138] 02. Rubber Bum [139] 03. Fractal Fishing [139] 04. Punis [140] 05. Formula 6000 [143] 06. Italosport [143] 07. Undercover Attack (Remix) [147] 08. Supersoaker [145] 09. Mould Evolution [145] 10. Juhannes [144] Salakavala has been previously featured either on Antiscarp records, peddling free tunes to the underground of army of Suomi followers that got too cool for p2p, or in Exogenic records maintaining the status quo. Count them as Tommy Lauhiala - also involved in LPC- with Ville Ruoho. Ville releases solo as Calamari Audio and is currently involved in Antiscarp Warriors and F-Virus. The third tricycle wheel is Tony Sorsa, which occasionally sees fit to dab solo tunes as Igor Swamp. Their promotion strategy is great example of how the times are changing. Want to release an album? Start by giving away some of your music on a free basis and let the people get a good taste of what is you have to offer. The deceptively simple theory is what keeps Antiscarp Records running since 2001, in hopes of capturing worldwide attention and hopefully a few gigs to help support the Cubase addiction. It did take five years before the hydra label Sonic Dragon, decided the Finish crew was established enough to devote a whole branch to the genre, but the mission was accomplished. As for Salakavala, it wasn’t long before they agreed to release a full album containing their best material to date. So what’s inside then? All the goodness you have come to expect from Salakavala, a compound with three bodies and one brain, complementing each other dynamically in their musical creations. A funky backwash of danceable influences, grinding on Goa, Atari music, lounge and god-knows-what else, in the prototypical Suomi flair that has characterized the genre for sometime now. At the same time, some of the material feels slightly uneven on the quality levels. I would attribute it to the fact Ville Ruoho’s goes AWOL on a few chapters and his absence is felt. “Le Trick ” Sounds good, but sounds a little dated in comparison to other works here. It's still a good cracker to get he party started. “Rubber Bum ” (does that mean it bounces?) has all of the right people present, aiming more at the progressive circles in the actual structure & pace. It could have used the extra touch of harmonic strands that makes them shine so prominently elsewhere though. Prime example of where they are right now is “Fractal Fishing ” since, it is the album name after all. The track unleashes all of the melodic aspects that had gone missing so far to plaster a grunge lead a-la Nirvana, with strong hints of Goa and layers upon layers of cohesive sound-chuckles. “Punis ” (with Francoise Squearemeat) is a cute attempt at confusing things with a tribadelic introduction and more delayed onslaught as the timeline runs its course. Before things get too thick and slimy for everyone’s sake, acoustic guitars in a jazzy fashion, break stereotypes left and right. “Formula 6000 ” takes things deeper with the token ‘hindu-vibe’ track of the album. Fortunately, the mix and match arrangement with liquid synth treatments and upbeat rhythms, saves it from turning into another cliché. “Italosport ” Has a mean old bass touching on more notes I care to count while the real Salakavala seasoning becomes apparent. The groove is nearly lounge-esque at times (especially by the middle) and the female vocals reinforce that impression. Nothing else seems out of the ordinary within the funky department. “Undercover Attack (Rmx) ” is more of a polishing job than an actual remix of the original version, previously heard on V/A – Squeech. In general, not a lot of important changes inside, more of an improvement after playing out it out, getting crowd reactions, fine tuning the things that worked well and scratching the rest off. If you were lucky enough to own a “Supersoaker ” at some point in your life, you know those plastic water cannons are the equivalent of rocket launchers in any self-respecting water war. I was lucky enough own the first 100 model in my block, at a time when the water brawls generally included such devises as large syringes. I soaked more bodies than my soul cares to remember before someone broke it. It was a tragedy. the h20slinger of the block had gone down for good. My life was never the same again. As for the track, Ville is still missing, so the feel is slightly more progressive -or at least devoid of high pitched tones- turning strangely comforting for an eighth chapters. “Mould Evolution ” Does not sit well with me. The notes seem to hit all of wrong elements, using some of that old school euro-trance intonation, combined with Atari music and I cannot stand it. “Juhannes ” brings back the trio for closing-time on the land of transient beats, ricketing a leapfrog structure that jumps back and forth on different ideas, but never really makes an effort to combine them all under one bag. The result is a steamy, peak of the night tune with all the relentlessness it should convey in its climax. Sweat inducing, jolting material for the manic-depressives in the high-time of the trip, including a fair bit of introspection. Fractal Fishing is a good example of where Suomi is heading right now and Faerie Dragon has taken the job seriously to deliver fresh material. In my book, these cats have quickly started threatening morning full on with equally melodic content and daring ideas without crossing too far into alien panoramas. The crystal clear production of world-renowned producers is not there yet, but they are getting closer and the content is certainly more appealing. Whether in progressive numbers or morning sets, the stuff is there to be plugged and chucked with relative ease, and that is their greatest strength. My only real qualm might be the oppressively gleeful atmosphere throughout most of its chapter. If you are part of the of Suomi clan, or perhaps an old Goa fan jaded with modern ‘psy’, I suggest you take a fishing rod and try your luck on this side of the pond. http://www.saikosounds.com/english/display...ase.asp?id=5967

it sounds as if someone was frying your brain in a cooking pan... with boiling oil and all that... wretched mess.... tis good
-
in deed... this very sub-o-jective so i won't get into a senless discussion once again. just because it ain't dark in my book, it dosen't mean is not good. I sense a different atmosphere in "One Day" from Tumult. For me Quasar created an album that at times touches on 'nocturnal' imprints, but in general i see it more as joyus album... i explained it better in the last part of the review, no sense re-writing it... at the end is just good stuff, the rest is unimportant minutiae
-
DUB... in the mornings when the pression rises, you have to get shit done and you are still tired... stress assassin, OTT, jumbo layer, canartic... i hear OTT literally every morning... i get work done with a huge smile on my face
-
hmm... maybe because the album has no 'dark' elements what so ever? did you ever jump in fear out hearing anything? was it ever somber and macabre? that's what 'dark' trance is, spooky... nobody finds this album spooky and thus they don't think the term 'dark' applies here. It's really messed up music, extrmely psychedelic and well twisted... but dark?
