i got them for like something like 30-48 pounds (UK)... if you ask me that isin't exactly cheap for those type of headphones, and yes the sony store is a rip off, but man they are worth every penny.

so many talented artists so many random tunes... if you did not like the music in the game to begin with, it dosen't matter if it's Koxbox, or hallucinogen, or x-dream, or even eat static (well maybe the eat static ) that is making the songs, they still did not interest me much on those low quality 4 min samples judge yourself > http://www.saikosounds.com/english/display...ase.asp?id=4681

cute song...

Chillsophy is a good one... well put together... I'm not sure if all of them are my cup of tea, but it comes DAMN close to perfect
-
yes i know which ones you talkin about they have interchanable earplug thing and they sit nice and tight in your ear... they have really decent bass for the mini-ones... and they are greatttt for airplane since they amange to reduce outside noise quite well... i loved them until they broke... then i just cut off the plug and used them as earplugs for quite a while.. they were that confy... BTW hashashin that avatar kicks some major butt...

interesting, i was having a conversation with a friend who is studying sound engineering about the same thing... and you are right good producers are setting the bar high... from a listener point of view is DAMN easy to go critique how fool-on is this or the other, or how progressive is the same... or whatever kind of complain i have heard a 100 times, and that i have probably elaborated myself on... but the truth is, you go sit down on for a couple of hours... weeks... and try to make ANYTHINg work, and you'll see is just a lot easier to talk crap than be productive... and it is an entirely different thing to actually be good at it... this no reason to let you down, if you love what you are doing then keep doing it, dedication and hard work pay off... if they don't im jumping of the window right now
-
the one that actually got a laugh out of me was 4) Xantric - play this tune (Vibraspirit vol. 11) a classic simpsons sample of homer going: "now these are the tunes i want you boys to play..." and you hear a little xilophone action for 1 or 2 sec's before break. it's great... simple and funny
-
obviusly if it is DN'B or jungle or even trip-hop we are talkin about different tempos... but a fullon kick at 169bpm, like i said earlier is heart-attack inducing
-
are you trying to break BPM records here?? thats insane man
-
anywhere from 138-145 is good enough for my taste... i enjoy faster stuff now and again, but if it's loud enough sometimes i feel i might get a heart-attack... i think i suffer from hyperactivity, so my heartbeat is already fast enough... im afraid how the situation will be in another 20 years it is always interesting to start a set on the 138-140 and see how far you can gradually bring it up

What music are you listening to right now?
RAH replied to Sputum Rotgut's topic in General Psytrance
Entropy - Escape... Wooohaaa yeahhh -
this sounds like another name your favourite cds thread... so let's give it a go Infinessence - (interchill Rec) Global Communication - Pentamerous Metamorphosis Vibrasphere - lime strucutre magnetrixx - phase shift
-
digital art (5) V.A Satellite might be the closests... but some how it just dosen't stand up to 'Who needs love songs' - sub6. i like gappeq... but the dub sound is not consistent from what he has released this year, not to mention sub6 is a few leagues apart (but thats clearly taste matter)

Compilation: Interphase Label: Alchemy Records Year: 2005 Format: CD Web: http://www.alchemyrecords.co.uk/ Country: U.K Label Info: Established in London in May 2001 by DJ Shane Gobi and long time friend Stuart Bates. With the support of DJ Spencer from Australia, and DJ Starspine in South Africa, Alchemy Records reached out to psychedelic dance floors all over the world. Specialising in releasing full-on psychedelic trance, Alchemy Records created a stir within the global underground trance scene with a string of successful CD compilations and album releases Songs: 01. Freakulizer - The Awakening Process (145 BPM's) 02. Ultravoice - Log On (145 BPM's) 03. Wrecked Machines - Inner Space (144 BPM's) 04. Tristan & Pogo - Smoke The Unicorn (145 BPM's) 05. Protoculture - Dawn Razor (142 BPM's) 06. Rinkadink & Dj Spencer - Spektral Monkey (Broken Toy Remix) (145 BPM's) 07. Sesto Sento - Abacaxi Fever (146 BPM's) 08. Groundzero - White Lightning (142 BPM's) 09. Pop Stream & Chemical Drive - Sonic Boom (140 BPM's) 01. Freakulizer - The Awakening Process ‘The awakenening process' has smooth intro to bring us to speed gradually. Emotional piano lines echoing uplifting chords before the kick and bass drop down to start the journey. It feels almost like they were mocking the fluff since there is no wrap-around of the melody in the end. The feel is definitely a bit full-on-ish with good beats and minimum melodies, on top of an echoing drum arrangement with different sounds keeping the rhythm fluid. There are interesting bits of voice samples but they are not very clear to the naked ear on a number of instances. Freakulizer has released songs under Spliff music and Moonstone Records in the past with moderate success. This one is a step in the right direction. 02. Ultravoice - Log On Avi Levi is back, after having released songs for Com. Pact, Utopia, Spiral Trax and Psytropic records he maintains the pace of the compilation. A strong kick on the lower end, a tuneful assortment of peaking sounds and one-note sprinkles combined with a ‘quack' sound undergoing several layers of progressive distortion. Not much for melodies, except that piece of heaven on the last break and that seems to work just fine. 03. Wrecked Machines - Inner Space Having released his second album this year Second Thought on Spun records, Gabriel's work extends to Etnicanet, Solstice, Magma, Shiva Space Japan , and Wajanga records amongst others. The result of his work is a combination of tightly sequenced drum and bass, on top of morning melodies and uplifting sonic scenarios. On “inner space” the Brazilian one-man front takes us once again on a sunny path of light melodies and strong pulsating beats. There is this one particular sample I could swear I have heard somewhere else (it is clearly audible between minute 1:47-48). I would like to say it is Vibrasphere on the Limewire days, but who knows for sure. Either way the song is well coordinated fitting Alchemy's definition of ‘funky full-on'. 04. Tristan & Pogo - Smoke The Unicorn The duo gets together again after having worked on Wingmakers (out last year on Dragonfly records). Besides that collaboration, my only other experience with Pogo would be the “California Sunshine” with Protoculture released on Beaches and Cream last year. So what is in stock this time? You can hear the Tristan backdrop Riffs a-la ‘Cheap & Meaningful' (present in Origin 2 by Nano) chopped and diced plus the Pogo the sound: an energetic mixture of melodic bass lines on top a progressive feel. The song works well if wasn't for the voice samples. I don't know if it is me but the ‘let's take drugs' samples are getting old. 05. Protoculture - Dawn Razor Another interesting proposal by Nate, representing the other side of South African Psy trance. I am talking about the Nano records kind. Energized, uplifting, magnetic and downright melodic. Protoculture might not be my cup of tea sometimes, but I respect his production, is sharp, crystal clear and never boring. Let's put it this way if you liked “Oceanic” (again Origin 2 ) you might find yourself smiling with the “Dawn Razor”. 06. Rinkadink & Dj Spencer - Spektral Monkey (Broken Toy Rmx) This kind of incessant drum and bass arrangement for some reason just gets me going. You can feel the Broken Toy contribution to remix and it is downright spanking! I actually find myself mumbling the tuneful noises and the couple of breaks and pick ups reconnect the original tune quite well. By the end it gets a little repetitive and like most tracks of the compilation I find myself enjoying more the beginning. But if it's lively melodies you are yearning, look no further. 07. Sesto Sento - Abacaxi Fever The bass line intertwines well with the melody. But, besides that I don't enjoy Sesto Sento very much. It's like the Hawaiian Pizza: Some people think is a great combo to have pineapple with the ham. Some people think It's best when eaten separately. I like Matan Kadosh a bit more when he's working in Gataka with Moti… but I don't think it mixes well when you put them together Ferbi boys. But, that's personal taste on the type of music they produce together not on the actual quality of the output. 08. Groundzero - White Lightning Ground zero is basically Dark Soho with a helping hand of Shane Gobi. The song unfolds well and it remains the layered and complex like it could be expected. When you have four people working on a project, it better sound like 8 hands working. Well there is enough richness in the song to attest this fact. The melodies for the break are bit jaded yet musically it is a respectable song. 09. Pop Stream & Chemical Drive - Sonic Boom I knew had a slight distaste for Pop Stream and this confirms my opinions. The song is moving, is very musically coherent and it looks like a remix of the latest Billboard top 20's. This one is dying to be played on the clubs where the audience is typically wearing dressy shirts with the obligatory beer can glued to the hand. If you are those people… then smile because this one is great. it reminds me a lot of the spliff music compilations Overall The artwork, which is the first thing you come in contact with is amazing and it surely enough made a difference at the time of the purchase. Music wise, I thought it was pretty standard Alchemy compilation, with fluff levels starting to pile on the last songs bit too much for my taste like you could read, but there is couple of note-worthy mentions that should have not been left unnoticed. The ones that stood out 1, 2, 6, 8 Saiko Sounds Samples ps: hope this satisfies the reviewing rules Repost from: http://Sonic-energy.net

i thought this was a step down for Magnetrixx... same old 2003 sound but he lost some that jagged edge feel i loved and like u say went more for the melodic aspect. I got to put myself in the artist's shoes now and again and think crap u never win: if you change your sound then people dislike it, and if the same thing then it might sound old... so taking those poles into consideration it was ok. Going to stick with the old sound from Trittschall or even better phase shift.

hmm.. the only things that come to mind right now would be Gus Gus, and Boards of canada, specifically either (their first cd - music has the right children, or the ep "in a beatiful place in the country" which i consider their best work... Infinessence - (interchill Rec) is another option for IDM-ish compo's with a very unqiue sound i enjoy a lot. edit: it just came to me... Makyo and... electric birds, the last one is some interesting experimental...
-
to be honest i didin't have a clue they came up with something new... is it good? worth the dough? i'm wasting so much of it on psy-stuff and mail i hardly look elsewhere for music... edit: i guess you did mention is "pretty good" duh... hmm ill look it up.. in the mean time im going to bed
-
yeah AUTECHRE (hope i got right this time), is mostly unlistenable these days... but i dropped the ball at draft 7.30... then again Amber was not exactly easy to digest, and it wa stheir second production. Oh well we'll always have the Tri Repetae days... Leterel still kicks some major ass in my book as for meat beat... how about Front line assembly or Front 242 and skinny puppy... people don't ussually like to aknowldge psy does have heavy industrial influences...
-
shit happens dude, good u had a hawk eye for it
-
come man theres places on the internet where you can get music apps with a finger discount... this is just not the place. point being trading mp3's of albums obtained illegally is just a big no-no... some producers actually stop by this place now and again to read comments , im sure they would not be happy to see you trading their stock... oh and nevermind the sphongle thread... they are all "going to buy the album" right guys?
-
Sensient pressure optimal!!! especifically 2. Rhythmic Transposition, and 5. Lather... they are snippets at best but they work well together
-
im not gonna go throught 7 acts cause i think all the basics have been covered... for me personally... i would not look at electronic music the way i do today if it had not been for AUTCHRE (yeah man!) and later on with Boards of Canada... yes they are not as old as kraftwerk, and they don't have the popularity of the prodigy but thats just my view of the world

grapes of wrath all the way!! so far i haevn't grown tired of recommending v.a - Hammering the gates of soul nicest full on i'be heard in a bit edit: Manifold is also for some reason not mentioned much... i thought his cd kicked ass... powerful, dark, mellodic... Lost Souls Depot was also a very revelatory experience...
