Maybe you wanna give the Positive Alchemists Vol. 1 comp a listen. It's full-on but very melodic and with (imho) major old-school influences. The Avigmati track is awesome and also the Goma track (well, I love all the tracks on it but those two are outstanding).

That's exactly why I loooooooove this site so much: OMG an artist I like dares to change his style in a direction I don't like but the majority will like, OMG he/they realease(s) a track on a label I don't like, OMG he/they colaborate(a) with somebody I don't like. TRAITOR! He's gone commerciall! The scene goes down! I listen to the right kind of music, this is not the right kind of music! Blah, blah, blah... But I guess this is something that will never change...

Nah I don't. But I have a very good working BPM counter. I'm only a bedroom DJ so I don't care if this is not professional or anything.

I also love a lot of Roxette songs, nearly all the old (from their first two albums) ones. Coldplay is not really my stuff but I like Talk. And 80ies stuff is fucking cool anyway. Don't know why this should be a guilty pleasure, this music (the electro/wave stuff mainly but also regular pop) was always cool and will alway be cool!

I'd rather buy that than nother boring psyprogressive release...

:D Then they are quite similar indeed! Some days ago my gf was listening to Barthezz - On The Move, an old trance (well, pop-trance) track with a really catchy melody. She just said woow, that's nice! Can we please go to a party like that sometimes? Hehe, guess I'll take her to a remember party or a regular trance party/mega rave like Sonic... But it's not a problem, I also like regular trance and I think I would have enjoyed Hypersonic a lot.

I don't know but my gf also loves punk/metal/rock stuff but she still enjoyed herself a lot at the IM party. Guess it's a try and error thing to find out what suits her. Why not play IM's latest album to her before you go to the party so she can judge herself?

The samples sound ok but I'm not really that much into downtempo. I liked the older YB tracks better. But I'll wait for the full tracks until I make my final judgement.

As anounced I'll glose this topic right now. I think that more or less everything has been said and as much as I know the decision of banning Cinos will not be changed anyway. Thanks for all the comments and stuff. I'll still leave the topic pinned so members who are not here every day can still see what has happened.

Because sooner or later the discussion has to end imho. Especially because nothing that will be said will change anything (sadly imho). That does not mean that I want to censor anything or something like that but I feel like after a certain period of time it's just going in circles. Anyway, I'm off now and as I've said depending on if the discussion is dried out more or less I'll close the thread tomorrow.

IMHO this is just halfe of the truth... Mars woulnd't have minded a permanent ban but the discussion between us mods and the admins were about if the one year ban was needed or if a shorter one would do it. But I guess it doesn't matter anyway because the decision was made and can't be changed. And it also doesn't matter how many mods were for this ban or how many mods would also accept a shorter ban or whatever. We can discuss it here as long as we want, it's not changeable, this is the real end of story. And close the topic sounds ok for me, everything has been said. I say I'll close it tomorrow so if anybody has somethign important to add, better hurry...

You can add Dragonfly (their old stuff), Pof, Spirit Zone (their old stuff), MDMA (I don't know where you draw the line between goa and psy but some stuff like Future Navigators are goa to me), Transient (their old stuff), Cabbaged, Helix. Those are all that come to my mind right now.

Just to make sure that this is not leads to more speculations: this does not mean that moni wanted somebody to be banned and the rest declined. This was/is not the case. Nemo is talking about the banning for LLB and he thinks that because she agreed to his ban (which wasn't a year but only two weeks) she (and the rest of us I suppose) should have also agreed to the ban if Cinos. If I missinterpret your post Nemo, I'm glad if you correct me but there is no other thing that could mean imho.

Even if you do the poll, the outcome will not change anything AFAIK. So it would be rather pointless.

Nobody is lieing about not being for the ban. I can assure you that. If you count six mod and the amdin, you can see this makes a total of seven, plus nemo wo used to be an admin. Eight in total then. So you can see for yourself how the votes were. Plus admins can overvote us mods so to say.

I think he meant this Cinos incident when he talks about past experiences to learn from.
