This really depends on my mood or in taste in general. Most of the times I just long for the ultimate experience with fast acid/old-school sound or full-on and sometimes I can go with slower progressive or slow old-school sounds. But in general it is not so much the beat that brings me to another dimension but the melodies that do it. Sure the beats ir hypnotising but the thing that does the trick is the melodies.
Damn, I would really like to go, I'll scan cheap flights from Basel to London at that time. Anybody knows a cheap hotel? And I need to aks my gf if she wants to come to, going there alone would be kinda bad. But Hallucinogen live... *drools*
My favourite tracks with wicked acid lines are:
Green Nuns Of The Revolution - Atomic Armadillo
and
Bassline Baby - Altered States
It seems that there are different versions of the Atomic Armadillo track, a rather slow one that is on the GNOTR album and another version that appears (for example) on the Suntrance Comp.
And then there is Hara Gobi - 303 Gold another classic!
Some nice old-school sounding stuff is the Ypsilon 5 album, the Blissful Moments compilation and the Pure Planet compilation. The tracks are not as wicked as the stuff from Filteria but definitely old-school sounding.
I'm listening to the stupid radio. A new radio station has started broadcoasting, it's a bit better than the other station we have in town, but that's not that diffcult... At least the moderators are a bit less annoying. Hopefully my co-worker will leave at 4 o'clock so I can listen to my psy CDs...
True...
Are you sure you want to sell all those CDs? I mean just because you like chill-stuff more at the moment doesn't mean you might never have the urge to listen to other stuff like goa or similar again. On the other hand it seems to be a common phenomenon that people change their taste and never look back (not quite understandable for me) so maybe you can really use the money to buy new stuff.
Bad news again, I know some of his old tracks like Right In The Night and other dance stuff. And he died because of a suspected heart attackt, my god he was 39... I feel for his family and friends, my he rest in peace.
Thanks for making that clear! I was really wondering what deal is with this thread. I don't know such "insight" stuff about party organisers or artists so I thought it was kinda strange that he gets laughed at when people here say the same things as he does. But now it looks more like he's a jealous guy just saying these things because his exclusive deals and stuff do not longer work for him.
The promo text sucks big time but the samples (well, from what I can judge at least) don't sound that bad. I also like the piano parts and stuff. I've expected much worse when I saw the CD is released from the Chemical Crew. I even think I'll give this album some listening time when I'm at my local psy shop the next time.
That's exactly what I was thinking!! The scene is dead since full-on took over bla, bla, bla... Now people who rant about this also put down Zoo-B. Kinda strange and to me.
But I agree that the scene is not dead at all, it has just changed.
I had these in the mail yesterday (haven't found the time to listen to them):
