  1. It's not music but I had the first season of Roseanne on four DVDs in the mail yesterday...
  2. Well, back in the days a lot of people around me swore that is is great. I personally hate that style so I can't judge what is good and what is bad. But XV Killist was one of the big acts back then. Another comp. that maybe should be inluded: v/A - Space Mandala from 1998 I guess. Mainly Israeli stuff on it but for me (and I know also for a lot of other people) this is one of the best comps ever.
  3. Albums: Mad Contrabender - Illegal Hardware Nystagmus - The Immaculate Perception Lish - Free Fall Electro Sun - Pure Blue Ion - Ionized Comps: v/A - Exotica v/A - Invasion From Hyperspace v/A - Apsara v/A - Buckle Up 2 - The Trancelucent Garage Various - Most Wanted Pres. Raja Ram - The Godfather (yes, I fucking mean it, thank you) Moderator's note: this list has been modified by user at page 10, post #188.
  4. If you are actually selling some of your stuff, would you care to send me a list with what you got. Maybe I would buy some stuff when I get my next salary. If not, just forget it... Anyway, this idea is great. I do have a lot of vinyls and I would immediately share them. Unfortunately I don't have the technical ability to rip them. Besides that I also think I don't have that much rare stuff. At least not rare stuff in the sense of music no longer beeing available. But this project is just great, I really like the idea behind it.
  5. Really, there is bitching on psynews? I never noticed that before... Anyway, I have to additions to make: Yahel - Waves Of Sound (2000) I know a lot of people hat Yahel with a passion but even when you dislike his style you should consider the following: he had his unique sound, the album was big in 2000, a lot of people got crazy about it and tracks (especially Waves Of Sound, For The People and Last Man In The Universe) were played A LOT. I don't know if that is enough if not, ok... Psysex - Expression Of Rage (1999) A bit like the explanation above. I don't know if it's enough to put it in the hall of fame but why not think about it. And what about the first XV Kilist album? It's a classic in the minimal genre, the tracks got played on every party, promotion this kind of sound. I don't know if this maybe was a regional thing but I don't think so (btw. I absolutely hate this sound so I'm not only mentioning albums because I like them but because I really consider them a classic). Maybe this gives you some new thoughts...
  6. It's more like some poeple have a different taste, believe it or not...
  7. Oh, I included the traded and used items in my vote. It's hard enough to think about how much I've spend without separeting used and new stuff.
  8. All the stuff you have bought, not only 2005 releases.
  9. I've voted for 101 - 150 records. I don't have a clue how much I've actually bought but when you count every 12" seperatly plus the used stuff I've bought plus the new albums this might get around that. Maybe I've only bought about 70 or 80 new items. I really can't tell...
  10. I'm thinking about getting this. I'm not that much into progressive but this sounds somehow interesting. I'm listening to a nice full-on mix by DJ Mondey Do. Absolutely fucking great stuff!!
  11. I also partly agree. But somehow it seems more conrete for the human mind when one person (even more when it's a well-known person) dies than when thousands of people die in a far away country. Strange but I see this very often. And btw, who cares if the friends and relatives of Parasense ask for money. I feel really sorry for them, the loss hurts. But I still will not donate anything, I had enough funeral costs to pay for my own relatives...
  12. I have the Are You Shpongled? MD from Twisted Records. *proud*
  13. Hehe, he's a Swiss. I used to hate him since he played at every party here when his first album was out (I don't like minimal sound...). But still, guess his album is a classic. I'm listening to a DJ set called Dreamspace by Monkeydo. Great stuff, different kind of full-on (from Voice Of Cod to Freakuliser to GMS) mixed together.
  14. Very interesting thread I have to say! I also didn't really know about goa 10 years ago. I was 18 years old, allready listening to electronic stuff like Westbam, Marusha, regular trance but also a lot of other genres. I first heard about goa maybe 3 or 4 years later. Progressive was getting big in that time and after the first few very nice parties most DJs were only playing minimal and progressive. Really gave me the creeps but at last I was able to use the time to buy all the old releases from pre 99. I really regret that I didn't went to parties 10 years ago. The whole techno/trance movement was way different from now, and so was goa. But maybe it was better to get used to parties and drugs when I was a bit older...

    10/10

Hallucinogen - Twisted Shpongle - Are You Shpongled Marusha - Raveland v/A - Space Mantra Yahel - Waves Of Sound Infected Mushroom - Classical Mushroom Space Cat - Mechanical Dream Shamen - Boss Drum I personally rate this albums as all-time classics 10/10. But it's a rather personal decision so I see a lot of people will not agree with me about some names mentioned.
  16. I liked the Nystagmus album a lot, it has great samples in it and it's by far not the standart full-on. Don't know if it fits your style, it's very melodic (but not in a cheesy way imho).
  17. That picture even moves when I don't move my head back and forth...
  18. I don't mind that there are so much labels. The scene is getting bigger and bigger and there are also way more styles than 10 years ago so this is not really a surprise. Maybe it's not really necessary and it's also more than difficult if not impossible to keep track with all the small labels. But in the end the market will regulate that itself: some small ones will die and some successfull ones will stay.
  19. I'l listenign to a burned CD from israel, it's some sort of pop/mixed styles and I really like it. It's called Tipeks or something (don't know if this is the artist or the name of the CD). A friend of mine used to work in a (uh, I forgot the name, you know those places in Isreal were you work and you get a room and food and a little bit of money, maybe I can remember later) and brought me this CD back.
  20. I'm not sure if you are kidding but no, I don't think that at all. Even in the psy scene are people that have never touched drugs so you don't have to take drugs to get the music. Besides that, there are drugs connected to every style of music so if you actually think that then you can't play any music at all to your child.
  21. My mother used to play old rock stuff from the 60ies and 70ies to me when I was a baby (well, trance didn't exist back then), I think it had a good impact on me! I think it's a good thing to show the magic of music to small children/babies. When they grow up with music (no matter what style) they appreciate music also as grown ups.
  22. Soilwork - Rejection Role Some great nu-metal or whatever this style is called. Of course not on the radio anymore but from the CD-player. *headbangs*
