Since the discussion went a bit off topic in Rain's tread I've decided to split the thread up (well, after asking Rain about it of course). Here is the official DJ art or not discussion thread, hope you still have fun with it...

I'm a bit unsure what to vote: i like mostly full-on and old school, also some nitzhonot and some progressive but I haven't found a dark-psy track I really like and I can't stand minimal and I'm also not really into psytekk. So does this still qualify to vote for "I like all genres"?

Depends on your taste, I like his new releases since I also enjoy listening to clubtrance (or whatever name the people here give it).

I don't agree about not evolving. He evolved, but in the section of commercial trance. He has also released some 12" on commercial labels and not psy labels, I guess this says enough. And even back in the days the Wave Of Sound album a lot of people hated him with a passion just because his music is too soft for him.

He's making commercial trance now, still like his music but the Waves Of Sound album is my favourite album by him.

I like to see pictures from parties I've visited so I can't be against cameras at parties. But I don't mind when there are no pictures of me... People can look rather strange when they dance (even when they are sober) but it's also cool to see the party crowd on pictures going nuts together. On one of Yahel's CD singles is a music video with scenes from different parties he has played. Best thing is that movie scenes form a party in Switerland were included where I've been to so I can watch the movie and see the party again.

The samples on Saikosounds didn't really move me. But maybe I'm just not in the right mood for progressive right now. I'll look for it at the shop and give it another try.

I have the first Mr. Peculiar album and you are right about it, it sounded way darker than the new material (again, just judging from the samples and the track on the Spiritzone comp).

Try some tracks form the Swiss group Schädelleuchten (from their album 2005) the first two tracks use electric guitar and are amazing imho. One of the guys is a guitarplayer and he does not only use "stupid" riffs but plays really cool melodies.
