Interesting infos... But I guess this is not really my cup of tea. The Technologic album was allready a bit too noisy for me. It had some good parts (for my taste I mean) but in general it's too crazy. This one seems to be more dark, doesn't sound too bad but there are much more CDs outhere that I want.

Do you sell them? Or could you post a link...

Well, maybe because the tune you name is so beautiful that it makes you cry? Have you personally never been touched by a song (because it's pure bliss) that much that you had tears in your eyes? Not because it's sad but because it's so perfect and beautyful. Well, it seems not when I read the last two posts... Your bad!

I have to listen to the Dimension 5 album and the EP before I can decide. I've been listening to the Rah album some days ago and damn it was great, can't remember the Dimension 5 one since it's been so long since I've last heard. Shame on me...

Ups, my bad... Mh, I guess it depends on the person but for me it's not. In dreams there are sometimes strange things happening but when I dream sometimes the story and the surrounding change withing nanoseconds, this is not the case when I was on shrooms or acid. Beeing on psychedelics feels more awake to me.

What music are you listening to right now?
Tatsu replied to Sputum Rotgut's topic in General Psytrance
We hardly agree about anything when it comes to music... Maybe it's because some of the tracks are early uplifting house (especially track 1 and 2)? But there are also some excellent real goa tracks on it like Power Source - Goaway and others, did you also not like them? I haven't heard the second CD, maybe I'll change my opinion then (but I don't think so). I'd buy the Second Mind Of Goa if I see it by accident, it looks interesting but I guess also on this CD there are different styles united. -
Different people, different tastes... I love taking mdma and then listening to goa or psy at a party. But also LSD or shrooms are ok. To be hones I also listen to progg when I'm drugged up at home. But mainly when I'm on coke. It's the only drug (well, besides hash and psychedelics but then I don't like prog) I take at home. I don't want to bring on this old chliche but prog mostly works fine with coke for me. I guess the thing for me is that prog doesn't touch me in the way as goa and psy do. I can listen to it and like it when I'm in the right mood (and if it's the right tracks btw) but I don't love it. But as I said, different people have different preferences, it's always interesting to see what music touches which people.

I don't have it but I will check discogs to see if the remix appeared on other compils to check if I have it and just forget it. There was also a double vinyl on Dragonfly with remixes, but they very more clubby and not as old as the original if I remember right.
-
Thanks for the info. But not a CD that is available at saikosounds or psyshop I guess.
-
I love the original but I guess I haven't heard the remix. It rings a bell somehow but I can't really remember if I heard it. On which album/compilation is it?
-
I guess it's not mainly the drugs. I feel the same like Viking: stuff like Son Kite and especially Atmos or XV Killist (ok, I haven't heard his new tracks, maybe they would change my mind) are not my thing. Somehow to boring for me. And I do take psychedelics, in fact if I took something (doesn't matter if it's mdma, shrooms or lsd) and I have to listen to this music I get bored even more. Nothing about understanding it. There is some progressive I'm getting used to lately but I prefere sober homelistening than drugged up at a party. In the end it's still about taste, no matter how much some people here bitch about full-on (here at psynews I mean, not here in this thread).

Interesting question. The first time I took acid was at a psyparty (not this comes as a surprise!! ) and after maybe an hour or two of tripping my gf decided to go to sleep (she didn't take any acid). We were awake the whole day and were dancing during the night. I curled myself in the sleeping bag besides her and I was feeling a bit sleepy to. I think I've slept maybe for an hour but since the trip was very strong I can't tell if I really was asleep or if I was just following my thoughts. I woke up when some friend came to tell us that the were smoking a jay and leaving for maybe an hour. After this I was still strong on acid but I had a hard time to decide in the following two hours if I'm awake now or still sleeping. I can't remember if I've dreamt anything even if I'm quite sure now that I really was asleep for some time.

Guess it has allready been mentioned but still... I'm listening to it with all the power my little cd-monitors have and I have to hold myself back from crying: Power Source - Goaway Especially the part when they take out the beat and add a new melody. I knew this song is great but I didn't notice that it's so heavy on me.

I'm listening to the comp. The Mind Of Goa, got it new and it's amazing so far! The first track is awesome and the second also seems to be great. It's also interesting to see that there's a mix of styles on the CD and not only the goa stuff. -
The backside from the Toxic Caterpillar is just fikking great (or is it the Toxic Caterpillar track, just have a promo and always mix the tracks up)!!!! I also love the Aliens/Sound Is Solid tracks. The Delta Aquarids album is also nice but not as good as those three tracks.

Funny, I didn't notice that your reply (and the beginning of the thread) was that old. Seems like the thread-fairy is refreezing old threads.

Sounds like a challenge. We have to put that on the to-do list for the Gathering... How did it feel? Guess it must be kinda creepy, did you have something like visions in the dark? Maybe tripping would be like this for a blind person? What would scare me is not the dark but most of all there is not much space in a cupboard. That could freak me out.

Amazing collection, I'd like to take a month of holiday and come to your place to listen to music 24/7...

When talking about DJ Jörg and Infect Mushroom one of my favourite tracks ever is The Messenger by Jörg On Mushroom. This track is pure genious and way better than anything from Shiva Shidapu (but I like those tracks too).
-
Sure, full-on has changed, psy has changed but in the end thos are only names. If you name it old-school israely trance or early full-on, the music on the comps still stays the same. Sure you can, it's up to your own taste if you like their new music or not. I personally think it is good full-on but as I said, it's a matter of taste.
-
I like the old full-on compilations a lot, but back then full-on had another meaning than today. On the old full-on comps are just old-school israely tracks. But I mean even today people are argueing about the exact definition of full-on. There are many different full-ons... In the end it's just a genre name so people can at least guess how the music could sound.

First of all I'm amazed how many replies (and most of them are positive!!) I've got to this thread! You made my day guys! A lot of names you've mentioned are also on my playlist. Especially Psydrop, some Space Buddha, Talpa, Misted Muppets, latest Electtric Universe album, 1200 Mics and of course the Nano Records stuff like v/A - Natural Selection. But there are also a lot of new names I can check out now like Hydrophonic, Jihra (allready love the track on the Tsunami comp), Shane Gobi and others. What I don't understand is the dislikeing of the latest Space Cat album. When you knew his old albums then the sound of Mechanical Dream is not exactly a surprise. He might have taken the basslines but in my opinion you still have a unique Space Cat sound. It seems to me that as soon as tracks get melodic (and the first two albums also were really melodic) some people start to scream treachery, they just do it for the money and so on. Goa used to be very melodic so why the fuss?! But it's a matter of taste so to each his own, no hard feelings or anything. Anyway, I'm very happy that this thread didn't turn out as a big artist bashing or anything, it's nice to talk about full-on in a civilised manner and to hear different opinions about the artists. Keep them coming! I've just heard the samples form Jaia so my opinion might be not take too serious but from what I've heard the samples sounded more like house than full-on.

I got four new CDs today, all are post 2000 CDs, some nice old Goa included: v/A - Mind Of Goa (double CD, Passion Music) http://www.discogs.com/release/234463 v/A - Alien Airport Episode 1 (double CD, Novatekk) http://www.discogs.com/release/77837 Ololiuqui - Ololiuqui (Spirit Zone) http://www.discogs.com/release/179190 v/A - Unknown Quantity (Helix Records) http://www.discogs.com/release/123552 Hope I can listen to them when my co-worker takes his lunchbreak and later when he goes home.

I know a lot of people here get green spots all over their body if they just hear the word full-on. But even the full-on haters have to admit that not all full-on sounds like Skazi. Maybe there are some tracks/artists/albums the non-full-on listeners also like? Tell about your dark secret and name some full-on stuff you like? I wonder how many replies this thread will get and I hope that there will be no artist bashing or flameing. Here is some stuff that I think stands out from the standart full-on: Intergalactic - The Future: The whole album is great but especially track nr. 5, The Future, is awesome. For me it has a bit of the old-school goa feeling. Spacecat - Mechanical Age: Just an awesome album, I love every track. v/A - Timeless (Utopia Records): Very emotional melodies from track nr. 3 on.

Talpa - The Art Of Being None Somehow I didn't really get into that album so far so I have to give it another try now.
