  1. On the other hand maybe parents should look (or organisers) that their kids don't attend parties when they are underaged... If people would be educated enough (which is possible even when you are 14) it shouldn't be a problem to use drug samples. As I said, I understand your point and you are right about it. But I still think that people are responsible for themselves and what they are doing. When the guys behind 1200 Mics are abusing (not using) drugs since then then it's obvious that they have a very biased view about drugs because they live in their own little world. Not that this makes it better but then they also don't see what is wrong about it. On a side note: 1200 Mics also have tracks without drug references, from what I recall only the first album is about drugs and (even more important) when you leave this album out there are still hundreds or thousends of tracks with drug samples. Again, this doesn't make it better and your point still stands. But the samples are there because obvious a lot of people are taking drugs in the scene. Some more responsible than others but the samples don't come from nowhere. I guess kids are more invluenced by the drug users they see at the parties than by those tracks. The tracks might do their thing to those kids but if you see people having a good time with drugs, it's clear that the thought occurs that you maybe wanna try something too.
  2. It's the music itself that I like about the 1200 Mics tracks. But I've never seen Riktam and Bansin spin or play "live" so I don't know about their entertaining qualities... I can imagine that "hands in the air feeling" I don't mind that when going to a party (ok, depengs when it's getting too cheap then it's even too much for me). Damit, that whole talking makes me wanna go out!!
  3. I'm listening to the Order Odonata III compilation, very nice music but not as good as the other Dragonfly Sampler (Project II Trance) that I got.
  4. Well Cinos, that's how it starts when you're going to be a collector!!!
  5. I understand what you mean. On the other hand it's up to everybody themselves to get a balanced view. I mean if you visit psyparties and see the hardcore drugheads (if you care to see them) you should get quite a balanced view from the bad points. Anyway, I like their music, drug samples or not but I understand if you don't. Again it's personal taste and preferences.
  6. It's way older than the first Halluciongen album, if you compare those two then it's not a surprise that you are disappointed... It's interesting how Posford's music evolves over time and I like how the Gumbo track sounds, nice melodies and all. But track 2 and 3 are the best if you ask me.
  7. You don't like the tracks?! That surprises me, I was listening to it twice yesterday and I nearyl creamed myself because I thought the tracks were so beautiful... But again, must be a matter of personal taste.
  8. 9. Sure, you never now how much your subconscious is influenced by samples like this. And I don't deny that the whole drug talk or the drug samples in a lot of psytrance can make you think about trying it out. But in the end its you who decides if you do it or not. I tell you one thing: I do drugs and I admit that I enjoy it a lot (ok, some are more a pain in the ass but that's another story) and I also think I can life with the consequences if I don't overstep a certain line. But I do them because I want them to do and not because of some samples in a track. If I wanna try a drug I inform myself about it before I do it for the first time and I try to be responsible for myself. If people are not able to do this and then blame a track or a music style for it, then I think this is redicilous and also a bit poor (I'm speaking about grown ups just to clarify that).
  10. I see what you mean... But if people are that stupid to let themself getting manipulated my an album or trackname then they maybe don't deserve it better (at least when we are talking about grown ups and stuff). I personally don't care a lot why kind of message they bring in the drug songs, I have my opinion about drugs and if I like the musik I bring my own message in that music. But that's just me of course...
  11. Ups, sorry about the typo... I like most of their tracks, even with the cheesy sounds they use. I don't mind cheesyness (at least not all cheesyness). The only track I really hate is the greece one on the last album. Now that's really bad.
  12. @ Yantrta: Well, it's a matter of taste. I really like it (not the part with the melody from Peter Gunn but the part with the humming melody)... Very nice to dance to at parties...
  13. Huh, I could name 1000 of tracks... Anyway, here is a list with stuff I got nuts on parties (new and old...): 1200 Mics - High Paradise Hallucinogen - Shakey Shaker, Jiggle Of The Sphinx and nearly everything else Pleiadians - Alcyone Green Nuns Of The Revolution - Atomic Armadillo Yahel - For The People, Waves Of Sound, Last Man In The Universe Psysex - Skywalker, Evil Turkeys Indoor - Sweet Coming Home Chi-A.D. - Liquid Neon Sky Liquid Metal, Xerox & Freeman - In My Brain Deedrah - Reload (original and GMS remix) Infected Mushroom - everythign from the Classical Mushroom album Space Cat - all from the newest album LAB - Trippin Trolls Silent Sphere - Astro
  14. Thanks for the link! Oh that's cool, they've remixed the Wir Sind Helden tracke Gekommen Um Zu Bleiben. I need to have this vinyl!!!!!!
  15. Do you know an album called Moonbotica? It's a DJ mix when I'm not mistaking. Heard it at a friend's home, it's not psy, more electro/house but still very smooth. Maybe you wanna check it out. I just had to order it because I liked it so much. That's a nice thing with those full-length samples. But I didn't take the time to listen to them all. Expecially because I allready know I'm going to order this album as soon as it is available.
  16. I can imagine that comments... Somehow I start to dig that fluffy house style. Not that I would like that sound when a party is anounced as psy or goa but for homelistening of for a club/private party it's very nice.
  17. The samples sound a big housy but it sounds very nice (didn't listen to all the samples btw). I'm sure going to buy this!
  18. I received the following item yesterday: Silent Sphere - Mind Games http://www.discogs.com/release/472738 It sounds less trancey and more psy/progressive like than the first album. Haven't heard all the tracks but so far I like it better than the first album.
  19. You really have to, Chaosunlimited rocks! I always got some free magazines or posters with my orders.
  20. I'm listening to Dynamic - Dynamix trying to decide if I should put this album on my trade list. Not sure what to do, so far it's nothing special and I'm at track 5 now.
  21. You know, stuff like DJ slips with the tracklist, stickers, a paper sleeve around the CD case (Phonocol does (did? haven't bought a new Phonokol CD lately) catalogues from the labels and so on. Or do you think it is commercial crap? A DJ slips is nice, even if I don't really like it, I also appreciate stickers and catalogues of the label. The paper sleeve looks good but I dislike it because it makes the CDs no longer fitting in my CD board. What do you think?
  22. Good to know that the second D-Tect magazine is out. Guess I'll buy it when I go to the CD store next time. Even if the CD is not that good it's still rather cheap.
  23. I absolutely agree about this track!! It's a masterpiece and I need to hear it immediately when I go back home... I have the one of the Hiscore vinyls (http://www.discogs.com/release/33597) and as much as I can remember it is very wicked with a wild melody. I need to listen to it again to tell you more details but it's a shame they haven't released more tracks.
  24. This might be possible, I really don't know. I've heard rumours that on the next album will be more rap like vocals, then I've heard that they wanna make more pop/rock stuff. We will see but there are other artists as IM, if they want to make something new, then it's fine with me. Maybe I'm not gonna buy it if it's not my cup of tea. Since their style has changed with every album I wouldn't be too surprised if something like this will happen.
  25. That's true, psytrance is getting bigger and more commercial. I don't know if it will get as big as hip-hop for example but I'm sure that there will always be some underground releases and parties (I mean that's even the case with hip-hop). Sooner or later this trend will change, trance and techno used to be big and now (appart from the very commercial trance that gets played on MTV) it's smaller and untrendy again. I guess this is some sort of a natural loop. Progressive psy is getting closer to some progressive hous and trance so people who used to attend prog-house parties also attend psyhouse parties. IM and similar artists are getting closer to commercial trance (at least so say a lot of people) so there are also trancer attending psyparties and so on. This is not necesserely bad but this also makes the scene bigger again. And getting bigger means getting more commercial sooner or later because you attract sponsors. On the other hand if you get bigger and involve more people the chance is bigger that the sound evolves more or in a very different direction. If you personally like the direction is another question...
