Besides the oh so funny artist bashing and the lack of tolerance (not from all people of course) for melodic/full-on music or even clubtrance (stuff like Tiesto) it's indeed a very homely place.

Far not enough options in this poll! I would have voted for Space Cat!

If goa only gives you exactly one feeling (the euphoric xtc or acid feeling or whatever you wanna call it) then I'm very sorry about that. There are tracks that give me very different feelings. I'll list some of them to prove what I mean. But if the music doesn't mean the same to you, then this is not really the music's fault. Every person is different, if you can't see in it what other see, then maybe it doesn't serve the same purpose for you as it does for others. Most tracks sure give a joyfull and uplifting feeling but here are some that give me more. Here are some different emotions that I get from tracks: Jaja - Mai Mai: Has a very melancholic touch that brings tear in my eyes when I'm in the right mood. Don't get me wrong, it's a very nice song but as I said it sounds melancholic or even sad to me. Yahel - Waves Of Sound: That's not old-school goa but I hope it's ok for you if I also list newer psy tracks. It gives me a strong feeling of love. Psysex - The Evil Turkes: Has a very pushy feeling to me, especially because of the samples. Agressive isn't the right word for it because no music that I like makes me agressive. But it's a feeling of power and strenght that is still less strong than beeing agressive. Another song that gives me that feeling is Hallucinogen - Juggle Of The Sphinx. Besides the usual hapiness this are three feelings. Is this enough for you?

A lot of good stuff has allready been mentioned but the most emotional album for me is Waves Of Sound by Yahel. Pure bliss that gives me goosepumbs and it also can get crying of joy.

What music are you listening to right now?

I'm listening to the Charango album by Morcheeba. Great trip-hop/pop. -
I'm following this thread with big interest, mainly because I've never heard the classification "Eurotrance" before. What makes it even more interesting is that there seem to be a lot of different opinions what it exactly is. I buy a lot of trance records and all I can add to this discussion is the following: I've never seen the label "Eurotrance" on any record I've ever bought. Not in a real records store nor in an online one. Trance releases are labeled or described as Clubtrance, Progressive Trance, Vocal Trance, Hardstyle, Commercial Trance, Trance, Epic Trance and maybe other that come to my mind right now. Maybe this is not an "official" genre but just a name to label all releases that are from Europe. For the US market for example. I don't have any proofs of this, it's just what I personally think about it.

I'm listening to the new Yahel album Around The World. -
There are different styles I like, some morning progressive is really nice to listen at home for example. But my favourites are morning full-on (that's what I've voted for) and of course Goa.

No, I don't know Lish. But I'll sure give it a try, thank for the tip!

I don't know what you all whine about the new Yahel album. I've never heard Yahel say he makes psytrance. It's trance with a psychedelic touch, but so what. I like it a lot, it has more emotions than a lot of those psytrance clones that get released nowadays. And I personally dig melodic psytrance. I mean listen to some old MWNN tunes, if they would get released nowadays most psyheads would start screaming cheeeeeeeeeeeese within seconds. But because it's old it's counted as classic. A bit more open mindedness wouldn't do this community any bad. I'm talking more about the general vibe than the posts abouve, but I guess it fits...

Funny you mention this track, I like it a lot. But I don't know the original, maybe that's way! ;-)

Acording to Discogs I have 787 CDs and vinyls. I guess in total it is a bit more than 1000 since I also have a lot of pop and rock records and stuff from several genres. I'm proud to say that I like about 98% of my records, so I'm happy with what I own.
-
My vinyls are sorted only by category: everything psy/ambient, three different category for france (until 1998, from 1998 - 2002 and 2002 - 2004), one house a last one for everything else. No alphabetica order or anything. I'm more organised with my CDs: Psy and ambient stuff is divided in albums and comps, both in alphabetica order. Then I have piles for other electornical music (not alphabetica), hip-hop and pop/rock/everyting else (all in alphabetica order). But there is also a lot of piles just standing there because I haven't found the time to sort them in my collection.

I like how Psysex use samples in their tracks. Especially the South Park samples in Evil Procedure and the samples from the Spaceballs movie. The are very pushy and fit the songs right.
-
Track Nr. 7 sounds very interesting. I might get this album, even if it's no Synregy (but nobody really expected a new Synergy album?!).
-
Sounds very interesting!! I was not that satisfied with his first album, even if it was good for a first release. It seems that his new stuff is even more promising...
-
Nice collection. Since you have a lot of melodic trance releases I would recommend you Yahel - Waves Of Sound. In the same direction but more commercial there is Eyal Barkan - Mr. Clubtrance. Maybe also the Zorba album, it has some nice downtempo tracks. And speaking about Nice israeli stuff: Psysex - Expression Of Rage, v/A - Space Mantra For old-school stuff maybe you would like Cosmosis - Synergy or Total Eclipse - Violent Relaxation. Not that old but also very good: Electric Universe - Divine Design. There are tons of CDs you could get...

The link doesn't work.

I listened to some of the samples and they are ok if you ask me. But I don't get why they call it sexy psytrance, just because of the cover? Or did I listen to only the unsexy tracks?
-
Some of my favourites: Yahel - Waves Of Sound (the wholw album) Shpongle - Are You Shpongled Hallucinogen - Twisted Hallucinogen In Dub Most of the times my girlfriend puts on some soft stuff like Laika or some rock.

I'm not scene person so I'm not contributing that much. I go to about 3 parties a year so I don't know all the goa heads. But I try to spread a positive vibe at the parties and I'm buying a lot of records. I guess that's not too bad. Oh, and I'm hanging around in psy forums...
-
When talking about pre 2002 full-on the Expressions Of Rage album by Psysex must be mention!! Tracks like Skywalker and Evil Turkeys are timeless classics.
-
I like them, my fav. tracks is Jamaraqui. Great lead synth there...
-
Some more: Hara Gobi: 303 Gold Green Nuns Of The Revolution: Atomic Armadillo Bassline Baby: Altered States

I've pre-ordered the CD now. I totally understand what EP sais. About a month ago or something there allready was an interview with one of the directors from a help organisation (in the Swiss press or/and in the radio, can't remember exactly). He said that people should stop donate money to the tsunami victims. At the moment they have enough money for the first aid and because people are donating that much they will not donate to other projects like for the people in Africa. I sure would also buy a comp for Africa (if there are some songs on it I like) or another project that's not getting as much attention as the tsunami victims. I really think this is a great idea!
