---> POLL : Which collaboration would you prefer?
Tatsu replied to Manuser's topic in General Psytrance
Simon Posford vs. Björk would (could) indeed sound very interesting and beautifull. And much more special than combine great psy vs. great psy. But still, what about Jaja vs. Hallucinogen, that could be a killer, too! Or another strange but maybe interesting mixture: Rammstein vs. Infernal Machine -
Well, I believe they plan to do it, the question is will they ever really finnish and release it?! For me Twisted is a great label (I really mean this), they don't release much, have lots of delays but if they release something it is most of the times absolutely top notch!! But I agree that it would annoy me if all laybels work like this...
-
I totally agree about Space Cat, Electronic Universe, Future Prophecy and IM! Can't tell anything about the chill releases but I will try the Figga Nigga and the Seroxat album.
-
The CPU album is nice, a bit noisy for me but I still like it. Looking forward to hear some new stuff to see how his sound evolved (if it did...).
-
I don't have much mixed psy CDs so my vote might not be very meaninful for you. But I really like the first Most Wanted mix CD from Yahel. I like the tracks on it and it reminds me of the two parties I saw him DJing. Very nice parties btw, one outdoor and one indoor. As I said, it's a nice CD but there are much better albums out there for sure. Especially old-school stuff I haven't heard of...

I have a box full of vinyl from the youth of my mother. Stuff like Pink Floyd, Deep Purple and the likes. Some do have small scratches but most of them still sound very good (and my mom used to listen a lot to them, don't worry about that!). So the vinyl lifetime isn't as short as some people think if you thread your records right.
-
I also have that CD, got it from Psyshop about a month ago. I think we talked about this in another thread. Don't know if this one is really so rare or not.
-
I also like Blue Vortex a lot, they make very emotinal and beautiful music. I don't know similar artists but they have a second Project going called Rumble Pack. They have tho new tracks on the Soulseeker Vol. 1 sampler from Midjium records. Maybe you wanna check this out. There is another Swiss project that makes nice melodic psy, http://www.subconsciousmind.ch/ It is one guy and he has an album out that you can order over his internet site. I guess there should be some samples. Maybe give it a try.

I don't make music and I also don't know anything about synths and stuff, so my review is more from an unprofessional point of view. But I really have to say that I love those tracks! Very nice music with lots of 303 effects (or something that sounds similar) and good melodies. Not progressive but also not 0815 full-on, modern sounding but still with an old-school goa touch. Absolutely great stuff! Don't hesitate to tell when the 12" comes out, I wanna buy this if it's as good as the other tracks! Too bad I can't burn a CD with those track, stupid old PC...
-
Very nice mix indeed, melodic but not the usual full-on sound. Would be nice to get some of that stuff on vinyl.
-
I'm also not a spiritual person and filled out the form. I'm curious about the results. Hope they will get published here.

There was a picture disc released from Haldolium with the remixes from One Of These Days, maybe that's the one he means. Here is the link from Discogs: http://www.discogs.com/release/318830 I have it and if I remember right it has guitars in it.

looking for that rare "super-melodic-psy" stuff !
Tatsu replied to Adam's topic in General Psytrance
Maybe you also want to try the Eyal Barkan album Mr. Clubtrance. It is ultra melodic and there is also a track with Yahel on it. It is more trance than psy (or not psy at all) but with very beautifull melodies. -
No I'm talking about the Pleiadian album you mean. But that Crop Circles album also sounds very intersting. Any chance it will ever be releaed (don't think so but I just have to ask)? And why it wasn't released when we even know the label name that would (should) publish it? If it really is that three year old album, I guess it will be good. I remember Anoubis wrote here about the release party and how good the music was and all. But well, I just believe it when I see it at a record store...
-
Wasn't there something about an earlier third Pleiadians album (with a release party and all) that never came out? Is this the same album?
-
Thanks for the samples! They sound a bit better than I had them in my mind. But this project is still the one I like the last (which doesn't mean it is crap or something). But you people know which EP I love a lot and hasn't been mentioned here so far? Infernal Machine - Loin King / The Loins Sleeps tonight. Great, wicked and fast psy! Anybody knows and likes it?
-
Yeah, I meant OOOD. It's good to know they are still alive and kicking. Their old sound rocked and I'd really like to see them at a party.
-
It's dark full-on psy, if I remember right. I've only listened once to the EP and didn't like it much. About a list with all releases I can only think about www.discogs.com
-
My favourite is Hallucinogen for sure, the worst maybe is Beast (Spawn EP). Didn't like this EP too much. I'd also appreciate it if he would make more psy than ambient because I don't like ambient too much (but I have to agree that the first Shpongle album and Hallucinogen In Dub are masterpieces). But that's just my taste...

I'd die to hear that! I just love old Utah Saints stuff, and Union Jack also.

DJ-mixes: Tips for smoother mixes
Tatsu replied to Tatsu's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
Now it works, maybe the server was down or something. Looks nice, but how big is it? The call it a Berghaus, is it outdoor for some parts? Would be funny to see you, but I don't know if I go to a party outside Bern for New Year's Eve. Thanks for the info anyway! -
DJ-mixes: Tips for smoother mixes

I didn't have the time to try out your suggestions so far, but I'm sure they will work. I guess I coudl still use the crossfader but also use the chanel faders. It's worth a try at last. The link to the party doesn't work! I'd really like to know more about the party, line-up, location... Could you fix the link? -

Maybe the album Waves Of Sound from Yahel will suit you? I like it a lot and it is full of melodies but still with psy touch. -
Are they still making music then? I like their albums but I can't remember any new stuff. Maybe on a comp I bought at the beginning of the year. Can't tell at the moment.

DJ-mixes: Tips for smoother mixes
Tatsu replied to Tatsu's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
Thanks for the tips! I will try the sugestions from Nemo with the chanel faders, maybe this will help. Sounds like a good idea. I listened to my mix again with headphones and I've found out, that with one or two transitions I had the second track much louder than the first one (the one allready playing) and this can't lead to any good. Anyway, I'll keep you informed and maybe ask for some more help...
