  1. My favourite is still Green Nuns Of The Revolution, how crazy is that?!
  2. Yesterday I mixed a new MiniDisc with my CDJs and I'm not very satisfied with it. I did beatmix it but the part when I fade a new track in, it sounds very harsh. I haven't spend much time mixing and I'm not so skilled so this is for sure first part of the problem. But still, I think it should be possible, even with my skills, to make better crossings. Sometimes the tracks (or the parts of the tracks I mix together) just don't match very good, then it's clear why it sounds bad. But I have made combinations of tracks that sound good when played together but still the part when I fade in is not sounding to harsh. I can't explain any better but maybe you still understand what I mean. Maybe someone has some comments or tips for me? Maybe it is better to fade in very, very slow or to even don't use the crossfader but the button for the immediate addition of the second CDJ?
  3. Easy, no problem!

Here is my list: v/A Cyberdelica v/A Pure Immagination 1 Protoculture - Refractions Prana - Geomantik Talpa - The Art Of Being None Cosmictone - Going Solo v/A Soulseeker 1 & 2 Filteria - Sky Input v/A Summer Session (maybe, I wait for some samples) v/A Psychedelic Tuning v/A Zoom 2004 v/A Tokyo 24/7 v/A High-Tech Pleasure Vibe Tribe - Melodrama Indoor - Progressive Trance Alien vs. The Cat - Space Jam v/A Unusual Suspects 2 *waiting* Astrix - Artcore v/A Wingmakers And of course I'm always looking for old gems... Hei Cinos, I have the Doof CD Let's Turn On for sale because I have them twice. Maybe you are interested?
  5. It really depends how good a "good" track is! Sounds a bit strange, I know. But for me if one track is over the top and has the special twist I like, I'll buy a CD or compilation even if the rest of the tracks is just so-so or even bad. But if a track is just normal good and not especially stunning then it needs about 3 "normal" tracks to make me buy a CD.
  6. Very interesting point of view. For me 2002 has been the year that bored me a lot with its releases. And this hear has been a very good one, at least if I look at it from the psy side of life. What kind of stuff do you like listen to? I think it is hard and very bad for you to not even like one single release.
  7. Thanks for the picture, now I see what you mean! It looks more like a pop-concert. We don't have parties that are this big, you are right. The biggest one is Zoom after the Streetparade. I think there were about 20000 people counted together in 2 or 3 days. But the rest is much smaller. Greetings back to Sweden!
  8. I absolutely agree with that! Of course you need connections, but only with connections you don't get far I think. You have to have a bit of talent. If he would have lived in Israel maybe BNE or Hommega would have signed him. Who knows... And you are also right about that the marketing in the psy scene isn't much different as in the pop industry. But it's much smaller, as you said, I think this makes a difference. About the people staring at the DJ stage: I haven't been to much parties lately but here there are still most people dancing and not staring at the DJ. And I hope it stays this way! But of course I'm happy for every DJ who gets his groupies...
  9. That's exactly the opposite what I wanted to say!!! Of course you can't measure the talent of an artist only from the promotion he gets. And I also don't want to generalise this, I was just talking about S. Posford. What I wanted to say, is that Dragonfly promoted Hallucinogen this much because they saw his talent (which does not mean that he has more talent than Doof for example, don't get me wrong) and of course they thougth they could make money out of it. (That's at least what I believe, of course I can be wrong because I don't know any responsible from Dragonfly or any other label) Britney gets supportet not because of her talent as singer but because she gets a certain image for the buyers. Because the label knows guys think she's hot and girls wanna be like her (because they are manipulatet by the press and/or society to believe she is the ultimate). And psytrance is not only about music, you are right. But it is much more about music than pop like Britney is. I mean I've never seen screaming girls at psy parties holding sings with *Duvdev, I wanna have sex with you* or anything similiar. This is not very common in the electronic music scene in general I think.
  10. I just love Blue Vortex, so I guess you are right about this!!! Maybe I'll check out more samples before buying.
  11. After reading "typical morning full-on" I just had to listen to some samples. Very nice music, guesst will get those albums. The sound reminds me a bit of Blue Vortex.
  12. I just wanted to point out, that it's difficult to compare pop stars to psy stars because they might be loved for different reasons. That it's more about music in psy than in pop where the looks and image counts more and more. But you're right about the promotional thing. Simon also released stuff with different projects so his name is very well known also besides Hallucinogen. On the other hand you could say that if he wasn't this talented he wouldn't have been promoted this much. Which still leaves the possibility of beeing overrated of course. I think it is a bit a personal thing. Spindrift also mentioned Total Eclipse and Doof that didn't get as much attention as Hallucinogen, even if they are also superb artists. I think mabe the problem is that especially Doof hasn't released an album for ages (at least as much as I know). I think he collaborated with a guy from GMS for the first Vatos Locos album, but I don't know of any other stuff he did lately. So he has another status than Posford and it is also very easy for people to forget about him.
  13. v/A A Party Is For Life, Not Just For X-Mas from i think Cabbaged Records of OOOD Records is also very rare. As much as I know. One guy once wanted to buy ot from me for 50 Euro but I didn't want to sell it.
  14. I guess the difference betweetn a pop-singer like for example Britney Spears and a psy act like Hallucinogen is that Hallucinogen make their music themself. S. Posford uses his time to compose the music, to search samples and what else is necessary to make a song. And I also think that he only publishes stuff he likes. Britney just sings the songs others have written for her and and without technical help she maybe (just a guess) couldn't even sing properly. Of course she also has to use her time to work at the choreographies for the shows and beeing a beauty queen. But I don't think she has a lot to say about what she wants to do. She's more or less a puppet on a string for her record label. A lot of people just adore her because of her looks, and I don't think this is common in the psy scene.
  15. Very interesting text ANB!! That's quite what is in my mind about the whole subject, I just couldn't put it right.
  16. Yeah I see what you want to say and I can also understand it a bit (and I'm glad you accepted my appology ). But I still disagree with the talent thing. But I guess this is what's this forum for, see different points of view from different people. Doesn't mean you have to take my point of view or I have to take yours. So have a nice evening...
  17. No it doesn't have to be an argument, I'm sorry and I didn't want to be mean or a smart-ass to you. I hope you accept my appology. It's just that I'm just so fucking fed up with always reading and hearing (and I don't mean you personaly but a lot of people) oh IM (and about two years ago its was Yahel who is) are ruining their talent with the music they make just because they dare to make musig those people don't like. I don't see what this has to do with talent when you change the style. I don't think (and this is about taste in my eyes) that they degradated their style. But anyway, you are right, it's quite a pointless discussion so I leave it like that. Peace!
  18. Oh yes, IM and Yahel destroyed their talent just because they choose to change their style to something YOU don't like.
  19. I like Yahel a lot and have all of his albums and also some commercial trance vinyls. The track Skywalker made together with DJ Miss-T is such a beautiful song I get goosepumps every time I listen to it. And also the track Friendzone released under the project name Avalanche is pure bliss. I love just love his style, especially the tracks named above and the Waves Of Sound album. I know a lot of people hate him because he dares to release trancey psy and also commercial clubtrance. But I saw him Djing twice at a party (I guess this was about 2 and 3 years ago) and people went mad about his set. One was an outdoor-party and he was playing at 6 in the morning. A lot of tracks from his Waves Of Sound album and other Isreali stuff from other producers, here is a part of the trackslist I wrote back then (I can't remember more tracks): Infected Mushroom: S Is Here SBK: Druckverteiler Infected Mushroom: Wider Yahel: For The People Yahel: Waves Of Sound Yahel: Going Up Deedrah: Reload Yahel: Reality Xerox: In My Brain Infected Mushroom: Symphonatic The second party was an indoor party with a lot of people, Xerox did also a DJ-Set with darker full-on sound. I remember that Yahel played some of the above mentioned tracks again. It was very good party and his set made the people smile and dance like crazy. I don't know what mixes if he makes a DJ set nowadays, but I wouldn't mind finding out and go to a party to see him!
  20. I guess you must have mistaked me for another poster. I didn't write any numbers of releases that fit me. At the moment there is enough good stuff coming out for me, even if I like the old sound a lot. I just commented the bad vibes at parties. @DJ Nemo: I don't mind people using drugs at parties. I never had any problems with drugged up people, no matter what they take. It's more like it's funny to listen to their stories... But maybe this is because I have it like you with parties, I went only tho two psy parties this year (and maybe 2 or 3 trance parties) and I've enjoyed them a lot. I thought the people were friendly, the decoration was good and so on. maybe I would think otherwise if I'd still go to a party every weekend. I guess I'm getting a bit old, I absolutely don't need going out every weekend anymore.
  21. This weekend I saw Infected Mushroom and Silent Sphere live and it was overwhelming!! First was Silent Sphere, they are much better live than on their album (and I like their album). Much more twisted and full-on (but in a positive way). People enjoyed it a lot and I was dancing like crazy. Then came Infected Mushroom and the whole crowd went nuts. They played mostly new tracks which was a bit a disappointment for me (but I knew it before because somebody told me) but it was still a great experience. I like their new album and the tracks also sounded good live, I'd immediately go to a party again to see them.
  22. I may be a bit commercialised or whatever you wanna call that but I like the idea of psy-musik made for a videogame (if it's music that fits my taste ). I like videogames a lot and it would be nice to have one with psysound. Wipeout on the PS1 was very good and the music gave me an extra kick. But the cover is really ugly, that's true,
  23. I'm with you DJ Nemo about not beeing able to choose which music I like better. I will definitely not vote in this poll because I love old-school but there are also a lot of new releaeses that fit me. I also have to add something regarding the vibes at the parties. It is true that the people create the vibe. And it is also true that there are a lot of drugheads at the parties. But I guess the problem is different. I think that nowaydays (at least in my area) a psy party isn't something special. I mean there are parties every weekend, and also nearly every weekend there is at least one DJ or live act from a foreign country. As much as I know it wasn't always like that. Goa parties used to be sort of hidden from the general knowledge. It wasn't as easy as today to find a good party or a party at all. Goaheads where a sort of community (we still are, but it is somehow less familiar because there are more and more people). So nowadays people can choose out of 5 or 6 parties and after they have chosen they expect the absolut non-plus-ultra party feeling. And if there is something that doesn't fit in this criteria people start bitching about the organisators, the DJs, whatever. I think some (a lot) people go to a party and just wait for something to be wrong. They go to parties every weekend and a "normal" party with "normal" music and "normal" people and "normal" decoration doesn't entertain them enough. So they start to complain and spreading a bad vibe. Just my 2 cents...
  24. I guess I know what you mean... But the psytrance scene is not dead at all, in fact it has tendencies to getting bigger and commercial. And I think this is what disturbs you: the scene and music is not going into a direction that suits you. Or did I get you wrong?
  25. Sorry, I'm too stupid. I've only read no melodies so I thougth it has to be minimal. But I'm completely wrong of course. Heard some samples now and it's dark night music. Still no my style btw.
