  1. I guess you are right with the teeny top-of-the-poppers and the dreadlock people... But I do understand what you mean. That in your commercial clubs are stupid people. Listening to trance, house, hardcore whatever. Here it is not like this. At least not in all the clubs. Here if you go to a club that plays commercial trance (Tiesto or Armin van Buuren) the people are also nice. But it deepends what niveau the club has of course. There are some clubs you should better avoid because of stupid people. And you are right again, nobody wants those people on psy parties!!!
  2. I guess that's exactly the point. Even if some side of Psy will get commercial there will still be enough underground parties and artists. And nobody will be forced to go to a big commercial psy happening. If you know the right people you will still be able to find smaller parties in the woods or wherever. But I'm a bit shocked by the image you have from trance parties. I've been to a lot of trance parties (I mean commercial ones), big ones with names like Tiesto and smaller ones organised by private people. And there never ever was a fist fight or anything like this! Maybe it deependes where you are from. But here trance parties are also peacfull and funny. Of course not in a psy way of peacfull but still ok to go (if you like the music of course). So I think it should and will be possible to make commercial psy parties still worth going. Btw here are allready big commercial parties that have a psy floor. Some are of course bad but some open airs with a psy floor really rocked the crwod. And goa heads and trance heads danced together without any problem. But that's of course in peacfull little Switzerland...
  3. I really have to agree with Lemmiwink's review of this album. Another great album that has been released this year. I guess melodic psytrance is finally comming back!! The album has really some kind of old-school goa touch but it is still sounding very fresh and modern. It is much better than the last two albums, and they were also not too bad. So I can just advice you to give it a try!
  4. An absolutely outstanding album is Symphonic Adventures by Synsun. It is melodic and a bit full-on, but not in the GMS/Alien/Astrix way of full-on. It has a lot of classical music influences and in the CD case the guy from Synsun writes he was inspired for this album by the metal band rhapsody (but it doesn't has Sun Project guitars on it, so don't fear). It is absolutely great music, best album of the year by far. And it reminds me a lot of the Classical Mushroom album by IM. You MUST checking it out!!
  5. This is one of my favourite albums this year (and it's from a Swiss project by the way!!). I like it because it has lots of melodies, but not in the israely full-on style. It has some progressive elements but still enougth meldoies going on to suit me ('cause I don't like most of the progressive stuff). I also thought that it reminds me a bit of Yahel's older stuff, but it is a little bit less melodic I think. Anyway, I really think this album stands out from most of the other productions this year. It has really it's own style and I really wonder how this group will evolve in the future. Great review from Lemmiwinks btw!
  6. I just have the second CD, but also some old 5 vinyls. But you are right, the older stuff (at least the one I know) is better.
  7. This is really a good album, I have it for several years and still love it. Maybe you also want to try the Dimension 5 album, it's from the same guy who is behind Ra.
  8. Well, the whole discussion is about taste, so people will never agree. But what the fuck is commercial about changing a track if peopel don't like it?! I mean IM play at psyparties, so it is clear if people don't like their sound, they know something have to change. And because IM listen to their audience they are commercial?! Is there any artist (the genre doesn't matter) outthere who doesn't listen to his/her audience? I mean people make music to give something to the people and if the people don't react, maybe they did something wrong. I mean if you are in a studio an listen to the same track you wrote yourself again and again, it is very hard (if not impossible) to stay absolutely objectiv. So it's clear a musician needs listeners to tell him what they like or dislike and to get new opinions. Just because the musican decides to change a track, does not mean he just does if for the money. But maybe het got new inputs and better ideas on a track. What's so bad about that one? And about underground people beeing againt commercialism. Well, I do understand that, but just because something is so unknown and so underground and all doesn't mean it is automatically better. I mean psy isn't that undergournd anymore anyway. Here there are commercial trance/techno parties that have a psy-floor. So it is accesable for anyone. Maybe some people should accept the fact, that they are not so special just because they listen to that funky-cool underground psy-stuff nobody else knows.

    WARN?

I guess if you do any bad at this forum Mars or Lemmiwinks will warn you and % shows how much in trouble you are. 100% = banned I think. At least in the other forums I know it is like that.
  10. That might be true. But has anyone of you ever though, that maybe (just maybe) they change their style not because of money but because they like it better the new way? I mean I don't know them personally (and so don't you I assume), so it is quite easy to say they do it just for the money or because of whatever. And maybe it also fits better in the picture we have of famous artists. But I'm not so sure about that. Maybe they really like what they do now? I really hope for them but I guess we will never really know...
  11. Oh yes, when speaking about Cosmosis I have to say I add the Cosmology album to my list. What a masterpiece!!
  12. This is really a great track. As you have promised, it is old-school power goa, very fast and melodic. I just love the effects and melodies! I think this kind of sound stands out from the copycat works from most of the full-on artists these days and brings back the magic of the old times. I hope other people appreciate it as much as I do. It would be great if there was a comeback of melodic goa and I also hope, you will have the chance of releasing more stuff.
  13. There is also another Swiss psyforum with a bit more traffic: Muesticalforum
  14. Well, I think the point with the quality lacking music is that the psy/goa scene has been growing in the last two or three years. So it is also normal that there are more artists and more releases. And since not all musicians have the same hard standart you have to look really closely wich releases you buy. I agree that there is a lot of the same sounding stuff is coming out. But I won't say that there are no good releases. I still find new stuff that I like a lot and there are also albums from 99/00 that are absolute crap. And about Infected Mushroom: I don't think the Cities Of The Future track is that bad. Of course not as good as the tracks on Classical Mushroom, but this is one of the best psy albums ever!! I'm quite sure I will buy the new album, even if it is not as great as Classical Mushroom. And I also think it is still psychadelic sound they make. And even if it's not that psychadelic, they are by far not the worst. I mean take a look at some DJs (at least here): they play progressive psy with progressive house, minimal and trance. And I don't hear a difference betweene some progressive psy and house and I never heard anyone complaining about that!
  15. @ numb: If you want to know where the parties are go to Interzone. A lot of parties are listed there.
  16. A lot of the classics are giving me what you mean: Hallucinogen - Twisted / Lone Deranger whole albums Infected Mushroom - Classical Mushroom whole album Man With No Name - Teleport / Sugar Rush (tracks) Pleiadians - IFO whole album Shpongle - Are You Shpongled? (album) Space Cat - first album and a lot of others But there is also newer and brand new stuff that hits me: Yahel - Waves Of Sound (album) Blue Vortex - Mirage (album) Space Buddha - the last two albums Silent Sphere - Dance (album) 1200 Mics - both albums
  17. I just want to say that I just love the new forum!! Very good work from mars and the crew. The look is great and it is very good the people have to register now. It is also much better, that the newest posts will be at the top of the page. I promise I will spend much more time here than before, and I hope a lot of others will do the same.
  18. I definitely go for the full-on stuff, and of course the nice melodic old-school goa! I know it's all about the taste so I don't think progressive of minimal music is shit. I just don't seem to get it. There is some stuff that is more on the progressive side that I like too (Blue Vortex and Silent Sphere albums for example, if you can even call them progressive), but most of the progressive tracks are too monotone and boringe (no offense) for me. And don't even think about minimal... but hey, to eachone his/her own. And the best for me!!
  19. This is one of my favourite albums so far this year. I really like the style of Silent Sphere: lots of melodies and soundeffects but not in the full-on style of GMS and similar artists. I don't think that the album is too clubby, it's just a nice mixture of progressive and melodic elements.
  20. I have the Chakra & Edi Mis album too, good stuff btw. Another rare album is the A Party Is For Live Not Just For X-Mas from Cabbage, the Joking Sphinx album and I have the Pleiadians EP with the carved starmap on it.
  21. Try the new Electric Universe album. It has some kind of Goa touch on it. Much better than the album bevore, less progressive and with more melodies. Just my 2 cents...
  22. I guess there are not many others, that's the point...
  23. Mh, my first CD must have been one of those: U96 - Das Boot, Marusha - Raveland or Westbam - Bam Bam Bam. I can't exactly remember... But the last is v/A - Red from Tip World. All of the four are great btw!
  24. i'm not quite sure but the song i mean is d'eden space if i'm not mistaking.
  25. i only know his album technology. to be hones i don't like it very much, it's somehow to noisy and with not enough melodies. one song is very strongt, i can't remember the name. but the rest is just so-so for me.
