well gore, it's nothing about your business but because you ask sooo nice i will answer your question ;-) : the point is i'm in serious money trouble so if he really wants to pay about i don't know (it's just a fantasy amount, absolutely not real, so don't collapse, ok?) 500$ i woudln't say no. ok? and i'm also curious how much other people would pay for it and if i've paied too much. is that acceptable for you?
-
sounds amazing, i've ordered this comp some days ago, thougt it was from spun records... ;-) havent' heard any samples but your comment tells me it's really good.
-
at least the overloards track "gods eye on goa" IS a real classic back from the earyl 90ies. but the rest, well i don't really think so. and the second compilation is a joke anyway, as much as i know, these tracks are quite new and they don't sound goaish to me at all. just normal psy tracks (that doesn't mean they are bad but you know what i mean?!). as much as i know yellow sunshine explosion name all their comps goa something, so don'l let them fool you.
-
well... i do have it but i don't want to sell it at all, it means a lot to me. but how much would a shitload of cash be? just being curious....
-
yes, definitely waves of sound, one of my alltime favourites!
-
I just now a commercial trance track with an Eminem sample: Nobody Listen To Techno from DJ Isaac.
-
Mr. is totally right, I don't understand that people say GMS and Astrix (for example) sound the same?! Huge difference for my ears...
-
We also have at least one female DJ in Switzerland (I guess there are more than just one but I'm not that much in the scene anymore...): DJ Aruna. Playing more progressive stuff.

well you know, maybe he did the track that is number one in israel because he really likes this music? could be possible, no?! i mean i listen to psy and to some absolutely commercial stuff from the charts and like both. in a different way but i like tracks of both side. and even if he doesn't, you don't like this new track, so does it make a difference for you if he did it to make money or because of other reasons? i mean if you don't like it you won't buy it anyway. maybe i'm a little fragile about that subject but with every thing yahel does some people whine about commercialism. his wave of sound album is too trance like, on his mix album he looks soooo cheesy with the face on the cover, oh my god he is also releasing commercial trance tracks... blah, blah, blah! as if there were no things in live that are more important. but no, always bashing on the artists when they release something you don't like (i mean people in general, not you lemmiwinks!! ;-) ). i used to think goaheads are the open-minded people... but no, gms and astral projection are commercial because they never change their style, infected mushroom is commercial because they change their style on every album, artists that put photographs of themselves on their album covers are commercial... oh my god, this gives me the creeps sometimes!

Hehe, Gibber you are right!! :-) I haven't heard the track btw. But whatever, he is doing commercial trance tracks since quite a time and some of them are really good if you like this style too. When he's making now pop tracks, so what? If he wants to be the israely tiesto, so what? As long as he pleases people with his music it's fine for me. I guess he pleases people with his song when it's on first place in Israel. Not the psy people but hey, is he supposed only to make his music in a style you like? I don't think so... If you don't like it, then don't buy it. For me Waves Of Sound is one of the best psy albums ever. This won't change, even if he makes pop now. Too bad he doesn't make the music he used to but it's all up to him in the end. If he has the chance to make some real money then he should go for it if he feels like. What's so bad about making different styles of music anyway?

I can't say anything about the Bigwigs album because I haven't heard a single track so far. But the comments about the Eskimo album sound more than strange to me!!! If you don't like the music, no problem, it's all about taste. But if you say that it sounds like Skazi or GMS then I feel sorry for you. It sure is full-on music, but not GMS or Skazi style. Oper your ears people!!!!

The Fantasy Seeds album by Psydrop is for sure my favourite album from this year so far! Really old-school like and also full-on. Much better than their first one (and I also liked that). It's nice to see how an act can developt itself. I haven't listen to the Cyber Cartel album, guess I will order this one soon. But about Dynamic I can't agree. It's nice music, but not in an old-school kind of way. Or maybe I have to listen to Dynamic some more to get into it.

That's what I call good news!!! :-))

Very interesting discussion here going on about the CD/vinyl mixing thing. My opinion is changing about the medium to use... I tried for days to mix a nice MiniDisc with trance vinyls (yes, commercial trance, not psy) but i never succeeded. Even using a beatcounter. Normally trance is much easier to mix for me than psy because it has less layers than full-on psy but this time there was no way of doing it. Then I got fed up, took some new psy CDs and mixed a very nice MD (very nice for my DJ-leve I mean... ;-) ) on the first try. Since then I'm in love with my CDJs... Of course I'll still buy vinyls but in my opinion the best is mixing CDs and vinyls, so you have the most options of tracks to get (and even more money to spend). Maybe I will also buy some new vinyl decks when I have some money. The ones I have now are so cheap, I guess that's why it is so difficult to mix vinyls. About the beatcounter: I know that it is considered cheating if you use one. But the one I have is very accurate, it never lets me down. And I'm just a bedroom DJ, so why not let me have some fun with my music. I don't want to spend hours and hours with my mixing and still getting nowwhere.

So far this is the album of the year for me. It is full-on but not in the GMS style. It's more old-school like with a lot of melodies and screaming noises. The best track is Fear And Loathing, and not because of the samples from the movie but because of the melody. It's been a long time since I heard such a great track. I think one can clearly hear that Psydrop evolved a lot since the first album (which was also nice btw). Hope more music like this will be released!

To be honest I don't like this new Sun Project album. I haven't been listening many times but for my taste it is a little too progressive (even with the guitars) and boring (no offense, it's just MY taste, maybe you'll like it). For me the tracks sound all a little the same. Guess I will give this album to a friend soon...

I really hope this is true, I'd die to hear some new Infernal Machine tracks....

So, finally I've recorded my fist psy mix I'm really happy about. It's beatmatched and all, even if I had to use a beatcounter... (shame on me!) Now of course I'd like to know what other people think about. Everyone who's interested can get the mix on minidisc (I can't burn CDs), just send me an E-Mail to DJ_Tatsu@hotmail.com with your adress and I'll send it to you. Here it the tracklist: 1. GMS: Juice 2. Alien Project: Skunk 3. Hallucinogen: Gama Goblins (GMS Remix) 4. The Antidote: Empty Dot (Hallucinogen Remix) 5. Dino: Narco Sleeping Desease 6. Rastaliens: Deep Dive 7. Electric Universe: Solsticed Remix 8. Silent Sphere: Astro 9. Xerox: Science Is God Remix 10. Astrix: Eye To Eye 11. Talamasca: Pisces 12. 1200 Mics: Magic Mushrooms 13. Subconsciousmind: Release

My best 2003 so far: Younger Brother: A Flock Of Bleeps Zorba: Zorba Infected Mushroom: Converting Vegetarians Talamasca: Zodiac V/A "The Secret Of The 13 Crystal Skulls 2 V/A "Pavarti - Third Trip" V/A "Blissfull Moments" V/A Ravelution V/A Electronic High 3 At the moment there is more good stuff comming out than in the two years before i think (at least for my taste...). The worst I can't name at the moment, i was quite dissapointed by V/A Lucid Dreams, but it's not that bad.

The tracklist looks great, another Hommega compilation i just have to buy... :-)
-
I'm having both of the tracks on the original EP and also the Liquid Neon Sky track on the Retrodelic compilation from Avatar Records. Both tracks are in the same style: old-school melodic full-on. The melodies are very pushy and also very beautifull, if you like old-school goa you can't miss this EP. So far the best tracks I've heard from Chi-AD.

I don't understand one thing, some of you (not all!!) complain that the site isn't as good as it used to be (which is true by the way, no doubt about this one) and how much they care about it and want it to change. But on the other hand the same people are too lazy to write an email to ask for the passwort? As if this would take soooo much of your time... But i agree that the forum isn't as entertaining as it used to be. My personal opinion is, that there are too much people arround. Don't get me wrong, normally the more people the better. But somehow there are more posts with only very few replies and the topics seems to repeat themselves. I think it would be better if the topics with new answers go to the top (like in Isratrance for example). Then people don't have to make new topics if the need album recommendations and other stuff like this. I hope this changes with the new version of this site. If it ever comes... Another point is, that I heard (don't know if its true) that that psynews made some sort of advertisement, I'm not sure if it was on Audiogalaxy or Kaaza. And soon after that a lot of "wrong" people entered the site. Don't get me wrong, everyone is welcome to join, but since then I don't see as much of the old names arround. One time there were a lot of posts and stuff about mp3 exchange and other boring stuff. I might be wrong but I think that this is connected. Anyway, just my two cents, hope it all changes for the better!

Noooooo, please don't!! As much as I know you can still write short reviews, maybe not the ones with only one sentence but if you can't say at least two or three sentences about an album then maybe you shouldn't write a review. About the "good old days" of reviewing; were there really so much reviews? And with reviews I mean really reviews and not just stuff like "it's my favourite album, buy it", "this sucks", "commercial crap" or other stuff. In my eyes it is not necessary to describe each track or write pages full of comments about an album but a little bit more than just one sentence shouldn't be too much. Just my two cents...
