mine is the japanes word for dragon. i really like dragons and stuff so i got this name. when i was younger i used to tag the tatsu-sign on the walls with spray paint.
i know its cheating and also lazy but hey, i'm not planning to play at parties or anything. i just want to be able to mix some tapes or mds at home and have a little fun. so i don't think it really matters for me to use a counter. i also noticed that after using the counter a lot i hear the difference between the tracks a little better. not that i would be able to mix them together or anything. maybe its also because i know the records better now. soon i will have two cdjs, maybe i will start practice again without counter with them. my deks are quite cheap, so maybe it's also a little their fault that i have to use the counter... ;-)
i'm in the same state of djing as you mijis. if the two records have the same speed i don't have a problem but i really can't hear how faster the different tracks are. so i had to get a beatcounter for my mixer too. just wonder how professionel djs hear that little differences?!
hehe, thanks people. think i will leave the mix this way 'cause nobody made any baaaaad comments. but i changed the name again:
now it's called the cheshire cat - mix. hehe, alice in wonderland rules!
there's a lot of talk about people mixing their own comps lately. soon i will get my hands on two pionieer cdjs and i will be able to play dj too... so i'm allready thinking about what to mix too. i think i will go for a mix on two minidisc and here's the tracklist. i wonder what you think about it... my goal was to combine old and new melodic or full on stuff. may you know tracks that would fit in better or just an advice. i'm thankfull for your help!!

it's an old comp from trust in trance called eternal trance. it's from 1998 and full of soft melodic old-school goa. as much as i know it's not even reviewed here, think i will write a review as soon as i have the time for it. it's really a great comp and there is one of the best old tracks on it i have ever heard: datura: yierba del diablo. it's worth buying it just because of this, but the rest is also great.
some pulse and tantrance comps were on sale at different auctions on ebay. but i don't know if they are allready closed and where the sellers were from. maybe you'd like to take a look...
i think it's a great album, and the last track on it is one of the best ambient tracks i've ever heard... get it if you can, it's in the tipycally space tribe style imho.
so far i'm also quite happy with the stuff coming out: fractal glider new album, unusual suspects comp, adrenalin comp, raja ram's stash bag... if it continues like this, it will be a top notch year...
which madonna track was it?! i don't know but i kinda like psy remixes of old songs. so far i've heard only necton - beverly hills cop and a remix of an anne clark song from total eclipse and both were great imho.
melodic: yes, green house effect!!
minimal: i don't have a clue!! i like beverly hills cop but don't know how old it is...
ambient: shpongle: arround the world in a tea daze
compilation: assassinations
