I've just used the last money on my credit card to order a bunch of psy CDs from the first Swiss online psyshop. Will I hate me when I have to eat instant soup only at the end of the month. Yes!! Do I love the music I got. Oh yes!! So it's worth it... Anyway, here is what I've got: Freaked Frequency - FF Syndrome http://www.discogs.com/release/1157765 So far I'm only at the second track but OMG I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! v/A - Chiller Vol. 1 http://www.discogs.com/release/1108417 v/A - Orientation Vol. 1 http://www.discogs.com/release/811242 v/A - Orientation Vol. 2 http://www.discogs.com/release/854030 Orientation Vol. 3 is not on stock but will be send to me later.

I just got the album today, listening to the second track right now. So far I can say I LOVE it!!!! I obviously can't give you a recommendation right allready but I think if you love melodic morning psy you should check the three Positive Alchemists compilations from Avicmatic Records, the Digicult album, the Alternative Controle album, the Exotica comp (especially the colaboration track from FF and Alternative Control, fucking awesome melody!!!), the Loud Frequency comp and the Life Extention album. Those releases are the perfect melodic/morning full-on albums. I hope I can come up with more later.
-
Yeah, please to that, feel free to drop me a PM anytime with suggestions. I'm not able to buy a lot of stuff atm but still. Btw. i can really recommend the three comps from Dacru Records and the Positive Alchemists series (also three comps) from Avigmatic. Well, everything from Avigmatic records anyway.

I don't have a clue about business stuff but all I can say is that I personaly would buy an album I allready own from (legal) downloading if I really like it. Even more when I know that it has been released by some "freaks" who really love that music. I've also payed 15 Euros far a demo CDs from Electrypnose. Lots of MP3, no cover art and for sure he didn't push me to, he justed added his card and asked for a donation. I love my music and I don't mind paying for it. And about Mindsphere: I'm downloading the album atm, this thread made me very curious about it.

What music are you listening to right now?

Kukan Dub Lagan - Spirit Of The Wind -
Same here, but maybe we are old-fashioned. On the other hand when the CD arrived on the market the vinyls were meant to vanish and they are still around today so there is hope. Yeah that's the way to go imho. You can still start to look for rarities later (or if you come across them to a reasonalbe ot cheap pric). Imho it sucks to have a collection of music that you don't really like.

Same here. THat would indeed be nice. It's been nearly ten years since I've had my last excell class. I forgot nearly everything.
-
For me it's exactly vice versa. I think it's a nice album for homelistening but for the dancefloor it would be too "boring". Maybe one track in a cool electro set would rock but several tracks in a row would be too much for me.
-
Thumps up for you!! I haven't heard Electro Sun and Freaked Frequency yet but I'm very curious about those album. Talamasca rocks but I wasn't able to buy the new double album yet.

*hides* Imho if you don't want tracks like that it's up to you and the other grown-up listeners to buy as many of the releases they like so the labels know that not only kiddies music is wanted. -
Some spam posts set invisible. This is actually a very interesting discussion and even if the topic might bore some, if the spamming in this thread or in the general section continues I will hand out warnings. Go elswhere if you are bored, this is not a kindergarten where you can come and play.

Oh I forgot, you are not allowed to like IM (well, at least not their new stuff) on psynews... -
Infected vs Astral vs Posford vs Cropcircles/Pleiadians
Tatsu replied to Lu Bu's topic in General Psytrance
So basicly it's the old mine taste is better than theirs discussion. All I'll say about that is taste is something subjectiv and personal so expecting everybody to evolve their taste in the same direction than you do is a bit arrogant. I also think we should be glad that those kids, as you call them, at least buy the music instead of illegal downloading the stuff they like. -
If we're talking about homelistening my taste in psy (and also in music in general) is very broad. I like stuff from D-Nox & Beckers to Tribal Vision proggy to clubby psy to different kinds of full-on (suomi to very cheesy full-on) regular psy prog like Reefer Decree to old- and new-school goa. Most stuff that is too minimal bores me and I also haven't heard too much dark that really got me. If we're talking about partying and dancing I have to say my taste gets more narrow the older I get. My favourite party music is for sure full-on (the cheesier the better ) or goa. Or regular trance but that's not psy so... I can enjoy some progressiv stuff later in the day but in the end, give me full-on at a party and I'm happy.

Infected vs Astral vs Posford vs Cropcircles/Pleiadians
Tatsu replied to Lu Bu's topic in General Psytrance
Most grown-up psylisteners used to be kids to (in one way or another) so... For me it's kinda hard to decide between Posford and Infected (AP and CC/Pleiadians are good to but they never really got me like the other two). If Posford would release a new soloalbum and I would halfway like it he would win but since his latest outputs during the last years were nearly only colaborations I think I have to go with IM. The Younger Brother stuff and new Shpongle are good but for my they don't come close to the Hallucinogen stuff and also not to the old IM stuff. The latest IM album also is way better than the last one, I actually like it a lot so IM is it for me. -
Same here. The albums from the artists I had high expectations for weren't bad so I can't complain. Sure lots of shit has been released but I didn't get disappointed with a special release. I have to agree that the 1200 Mics album is shit. Only downloaded it but didn't like it (and mind you, I love their old albums), still they weren't in the list of my major hopes so who cares.

I went through the psydatabase to get a list of all releases and here is what I'm considering for my top 5: v/A- Moonshadow Beats D-Nox & Beckers - Left Behind Cosmosis - Psychedelic Melodia Dancing Devil - Forward Into The Past Khooman - Life Is A Flexible Liquid Talamasca - Obsessive Dreams v/A - The Hidden Dimension Vibrasphere - Archipelago Remixed Benza - Schwarze Now, The Defender Life Extension - Side Effect v/A - Positive Alchemists Vol. 3 v/A - Twist Dreams v/A - Orientation Vol. 2 Freaked Frequency I have to say that there are lots of albums I haven't heard since I didn't have that much money to spend for new releases. I think I might ad Chiller Vol. 1, the new Kuba and the Freaked Frequency album to the list but I might not be able to hear them before the voting ends. Right now my top psytrance 5 is: 1) Vibrasphere - Archipelago Remixed (Digital Structures, 20.03.2007) 2) v/A - Positive Alchemists Vol. 3 (Avigmatic Records, 2007) 3) v/A - The Hidden Dimension (Laugh And Dance Records, 24.03.2007) 4) v/A - Mysterious Force (Mahogany Records, 13.04.2007) 5) v/A -Twist Dreams and here's the downtempo top 5: 1) Khooman - Life Is A Flexible Liquid 2) v/A - Moonshadow Beats 3) Younger Brother - The Last Days Of Gravity 4) Kukan Dub Lagan - Step Ina Rasta Step 5) v/A - Chiller Vol. 1 03.01.2008 Damit, I allready have to do to first edit since I totaly forgot about v/A - Mysterious Force. Tough decision about the top 5 now...

I've checked and according to my info he was banned on the 22nd of October last year for half a year. So yes, he will be back.
-
At least the answer to that is (at least from my point of view) rather obvious. I think psyshop only puts stuff into their sale bin which they have a hard time to get rid off. So it's not a surprise that you can't find any killargh albums in that list. And it seems that you were unlucky with the OOOD album. How I understand it the current offer for 10£ includes shipping and to me this seems a reasonable price. Or maybe that's just because CDs here are way more expensive than in the neighbour countries.

Some people add their MP3 collection to discogs too. Maybe this explaines the 10 members?
-
I take it you want to spread some gossip from the israely scene?!
-
I'm not sure but I think this means you answer my question with a yes then? So all artists who make now full-on have lost their credibility? Because nobody really likes full-on and everybody is just making it for the money? Of course I can not really tell if Avi actually likes his new music but since you say he is not rich and famous I take it as a hint that that it's at least possible. Also considering that I actually like full-on so it should in theory also be possible that the artists like it to (some of them at last). Just in theory: if he enjoys his music how can he have lost his credibility? Either way: yes, I'm enjoying his latest outputs and yes they do sound different than his old stuff (at least the tracks on several comps I've heard, haven't listened to the latest Alien vs. the Cat album). Considering he still releases music I think there are others who like him too. And even if not and even if the poll would end up with people hating his new stuff, so what?! I would still like his music, also if he would be only in it for the money. It's the music that counts for me and not an image or what some people who listen to the "right" kind of psy think about the music or the artist. Oh and I'm not saying that you have to like his music or full-on or whatever, I'm just a bit curious what that credibility thing means for you.
-
Why, because you don't like the music he produces nowadays or is there more behind it?
