  1. Have you heard the new Cosmosis album? It's melodic but not cheesy, I really love it and for me it quite fits your description. And about the melodies in general: also prog is more melodic than it used to be. I really love stuff like Vibrasphere - Archipelago or Flowjob - Support Normality but I still can't stand the old psy-prog, sounds all the same to me.
  2. I've heard Time & Space Pt. 3 and The Door of Wisdom, both are nice but they don't belong to my favourite albums. Haven't heard the rest.
  3. Sold him two CDs and everything went just fine. Fast payment and very nice conversation going on before the trade. Highly recommendable guy to trade/sell with. 10/10
  4. 1. Your total collection number (including everything: cds, vinyls, tapes etc. from every music genre). According to Discogs my collection counts 1461 items. I guess it's bigger in the end since I have a box with old records from my mom that I haven't added and there are also several non-psy items I haven't added or that are not discogs. 5. First Psytrance or Psychill release you bought and when. I'm not quite sure about the very first release, among the first were the followings: v/A - A Taste Of Dragonfly, v/A - Mushroom Trance 3, v/A - Goa Classix 3, Infected Mushroom - Classical Mushroom 6. Fav Psytrance or Psychill release in your collection. Hard to say, Infected Mushroom - Classical Mushrooms probaly. I love that album. 7. Most important Psytrance or Psychill release in your collection and why. Also hard to say, I guess I go for the Alcyone vinyl from Pleiadians, it looks awesome, the song itself is also nice, got it for a rather good price and it's by far the rarest item I own. 8. The most rare Psytrance or Psychill in your collection. See above 10. Do you support artists from your country. Do you buy their releases? Yes, I tend to buy Swiss releases even when I think they are only mediocre. But since more and more stuff from Swiss artists is coming out I'm not able to buy everything. I do have to like it at least a bit. Bonus question: Do you download Psy for free? Yes, started to do so recently but I delete the stuff I don't like and buy the rest sooner or later. About the rest of the question: how do you people know that?! Is that visible in discogs somewhere or did you count all the stuff by yourself?
  5. I had the same thing in mind when I saw the question about it. And btw the exact same question was allready asked before, maybe even in this thread here. Guess the answer must have been going under between all the chit-chat...
  6. There are soem vocal samples on it but not full vocals (like singing). And it's more groovy minimal house and not pure electro-house. Check it out, I like it a lot and I'm a bit picky when it comes to prog/minimal stuff.
  7. Today I got the first CD, the new one Step Ina Rasta Step. I was very curious about it after reading the comments and now after two listens I have to say this albums is absolutely fab! Very space, psychedelic and dubbie. I don't know the first one so I didn't have any expectations (well, besides the hope that the tracks will be similar to the track I allready know) and they are indeed. Good buy!
  8. I agree about the melodies coming back and I'm damn happy about it. I've listened to some new full-on comps and lots of the melody parts reminded me of old trance music. I really like that since I love that music too and I have to say it moves me.
  9. I had Kukan Dub Lagan - Ina Rasta Step in the mail today. Awesome space dub album.
  10. Thanks, the story part is more my thing than the beatmixing. I will first have to get some cds before I can start mixing but the stuff is on its way.
  11. Just have the MP3s from what I can tell that album is a blast and I will for sure buy this. Too bad there is no vinyl release planned (or is it?!), just ordered an 12" EP so I can play that until I'm able to buy the CD.
  12. For sure also the Archipelago album by Vibrasphere, prog-album of the year for me. Besides that The Ayahuasca Experience sampler is also a blast, just got to hear it after the 2006 poll was finished.
  13. Some of the stuff I like: v/A - The Ayahuasca Experience v/A - The Hidden Dimension Nystagmus - The Immaculate Perception Alternative Controle - Alt + Ctrl v/A - Positive Alchemists Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 v/A - Loud Frequency The Misted Muppets - From The Legend Audiotec - Freak Show Ion - Ionizer Electro Sun - Pure Blue Space Cat - Mechanical Dream Oforia - Headed For Infinity
  14. Thanks ga2pir! Is there any "rule" like not mixing different styles of ambient together (stupid question maybe but I'm realyl curious about it) like dub and not beatless or not downtempo or something like that?
  15. I'm really getting into downtempo/ambient stuff more and more and I feel like I might mix my favourite tracks together. I can't beatmix but since this is not really possible with lots of tracks anyway I think it might still work out for me. But how do you mix chill-out stuff together anyway? I think you just try to mix the tracks together, trying to keep the flow and stuff, is that right or is there more behind it? I think if you pick the right tracks you can make rather long passages with two records playing together. Any tips maybe?
  16. Is this the comp you mean: http://www.saikosounds.com/english/display...ase.asp?id=3461 from Interchill records? Gonna check it out anyway, thanks!
  17. Thansk for your opiniona, maybe I should have listened to the samples first before ordering. But the Stop The Wars track is just so awesome the albums must be good.
  18. I've downloaded the Moonshawod Beats comp (for pre-listening mind you) and when I was listening to it I stumpled over this awesome dub track: Kukan Dub Lagan - Stop The Wars. It's awesome psychedelic space dub, I haven't heard anything similar but it's the best thing playing on my mp3-player in ages. I just ordered the two available Kukan Dub Lagan albums (without hearing any samples, the description on discogs sounded awesome enough) and now I can't wait to hear how they sound. Are you familiar with that music, how do you like it and what do you think about the albums? Maybe you even know something similiar?
  19. Maybe you want to check out this comp too: Different Attitude http://www.discogs.com/release/851842 It's also has a rather clubby edge imho.
