  1. Wouldn't be too bad for the scene if people start look beyond the name of an artist... Besides that also in pop/rock music people care about genres and dislike certain albums of their stars. Take for example Billy Idol's trip to the cyberspace with his Shock To The Sysetm album and got a lot of bad comments because he changed his style. Pop is not as simple as some people here think it is...
  2. I just wonder one thing: why does there have to be one special thing/person/reason that is responsible for what is happening in the scene? Why do we always want somebody to take the blame so we can hate him? I mean it doesn't change anything anyway so why not rather move one (as Elysium suggested) than hate your live away?
  3. To me it depends a bit how often you change the style. If you change it with every album, then it doesn't make much sense. People should allready know that every album is something new. But if you have a certain style and then change it to something completely different, then it does make sense. To me at last...
  4. I would also prefere to hear some new tracks in the old Transwave style but just because an artist doesn't follow my needs, doesn't mean I feel disrespected. I mean there are a lot of people who want something new so there will always be some people that would feel left. In the end it's up to the artist what kind of music they make and I also understand that if you make music for a long time you want to change your style a bit and not use the old formula again and again. IMHO it depends a bit. It makes some sense that you change your name when you work with different collaborations. So people know Hallucinogen is Simon P. alone and Younger Brother is Simon P. and Tristan. But if you always work alone and change your style with every album and because of that also change your artist name, it's a bit silly imho (the name changing, not the style changing...).
  5. I agree with you. If something is dead (not matter whose fault it is in the end) for you, you have to move on. I guess this is hard to do if somethign that really mattered to you know is out of date or if it has changed so much that you can not longer identify with. So far this isn't happening with psy for me. I love the old goa sound but I also see enough new releases that suit me. I also don't mind the people I meet at the parties so I'm still happy. But maybe also for me the time might come when I have to move on, who knows?
  6. Deleted several off-topic comments (could have been more btw...), this is not the off-topic forum people!
  7. It's official now: We've booked two flights to London and a hotel room from the 25th october to the 31. october. Plenty of time to see the city, go shopping, attend the party, chill-out and come down afterwards and meet the psynews people.
  8. v/a - Positive Alchemists Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 are both amazing. Then Optokoppler - Bugfix is great too, a bit older but still top notch is Space Cat - Mechanical Dream. Some other great stuff has also been mentioned, like Ion and U-Recken. Nystagmus is also great but a bit wilder than the other stuff imho.
  9. Definitely, we should also carefully plan who to act out at the party itself. I mean we would all wear our St. Posford the of Hallucinogod t-shirt and carry around little "Simon, I wanna give birth to your baby-"signs.
  10. Oh we can still do that!!! Just because we want to ehm, sleep alone doesn't mean you can't raid the minibar with us and hang out and even better trip out in our room!!! Maybe we could arrange a nice tripping session in a nice park or another cool spot after the party. But we will see... If we allready book the hotel (also over the easyjet page) I tell you where we stay so maybe you can locate yourself near us. Are you sure you can't get any holidays, the suggardaddy has to come! Flights are so damn cheap if you book right now (maybe we can sort of make a donation fond...). And maybe Heva can offer you one of her deck chairs to sleep in!
  11. Update: Me and my gf will book the flights tomorrow so I'll be there 100%. We plan to spend about 4 or 5 days in London, book a hotel and all (so no room-sharing DP ). We canceled our plans for a week of holidays by the sea so there is enough money around. Hoooorrray!!!!
  12. I'm up for it DP! Spearing a room or something would be great and cheaper than doing it alone. I know I was talking about going also the last time and fucked it up, but this time... I'll book a flight when I get my salary (in two weeks), as soon as this is done, I'm open for any plans. Is there a possibility of ordering tickets over the net btw?
  13. What do you mean with "was"? Are they officialy gone now or what?!
  14. Gonna check out the samples immediately, I love the two Avigmatic comps so I'm rather sure this is also my style.
  15. I've listenend to the mix twice now and I really like it. The track selection is exactly what I'm after, some more commercial tracks like IM but also stuff that is a bit softer and not that well-known. I also like how the mix develops, from wild to soft and back to more energetic, plus all the tracks are melodic in one way or another. Great work imho!
  16. I also like the cover a lot, nice colors... Sounds interesting, especially since Blue Vortex got a mentin. I'm sure gonna check this out.
  17. I'm closing this topic, it's been way off-topic for quite a while now. A note to everybody: If you are not able to discuss music (and also other stuff that is about personal taste) without attacking each other and without the attitude that your taste is the only right one and all other people know shit, then you better stop posting. This is far from being a usefull way of discussing. Respect the others and you'll also be respected should be the idea before posting, not I wanna show those suckers how supperior I am.
  18. The download did work finally, had to apport it in the end and add the ending mp3 to the file, now it's fine. Gonna listen to it this afternoon...
  19. I'm downloading it right now, the last bit (info after the actual mp3 is over) takes ages?! I hope it^s not damaged or anything.
  20. Valuable point! But I still think there are enough people who don't go for the names but for the music. I mean I personally also choose the parties I attend (sometimes) because of the names of the DJs (also local DJs). Not because I feel must see this and that name but because I like the music he/they play so I can be sure to have a good time and dance a lot.
  21. Are there also some killllaarrghhh dark melodies in there?
