  1. Ok, here's the Planum album: http://www.saikosounds.com/english/show_ar...?artist_id=6195 I have to add that the samples (I haven't heard this samples, I'm just talking in general) do the whole tracks no justice imho. I've prelistened the album at the shop before buying and only after listening to the whole tracks at home I realised how good they were. And here's Benza: http://www.saikosounds.com/english/display...ase.asp?id=4466 If I remember right tracks 2, 6 and 8 suited me best.
  2. Hei Charlie, since we're talking about new stuff: What do you think about the Benza - Retrofuturism and Planum - Elaborate albums? I know they are not old-school but imho they still stand out from the usual psy released this days. Do you like them or are they also soulless to you? Just wondering...
  3. I voted for the old psy but I really have to add that there are also a lot of brilliant (for my taste of course) relases of new stuff I wouldn't want to miss! I love both!
  4. Yeah sometimes they get very rare stuff available again for a short time. That's how I got the A Party Is For Life, Not Only For X-Mas comp about two years ago...
  5. Full on: Space Cat - Mechanical Dream Progressive: Well, my favourite album is Lish - Free Fall, but most psy-progressive doesn't sound like that (unfortunately for me) housier: Jaia - Fiction techy: ?? Dark: Electrypnose ? Goa: Hallucinogen - Twisted
  6. Hoover - Barabas This new Hoover album I've got is really one of the best non-psy releases I've bought lately. Amazing trip-hop, great voice...
  7. Hoover - A New Stereophonic Sound Spectacular http://www.discogs.com/release/127717 Bubble - Airless http://www.discogs.com/release/567122
  8. After checking the reviews here from 2006 I've found several albums that are a must have for me (for my taste of course): Synsun, Protoculture, MFG, Filteria, U-Recken, then there's the new Tip Compilation everybody here talks about and somre more stuff not even mentioned here. Plus the prog releases I can't really judge. I myself can't complain...
  9. Tori Amos - Bells For Her Just rediscovered that Under Pink in my non-psy CDs. Damn it's really a gem and easily one of the pest pop albums ever.
  10. Passenger - Circles (the rock group, not the psy group)
  11. This is really a tough question, but in the end it boils down to two albums: Planum - Elaborate (http://www.discogs.com/release/532116) and v/A - Positive Alchemists Vol. 1 (http://www.discogs.com/release/568294) I love the Planum album because it is melodic but far from being new-school goa (not that this would be bad, don't get me wrong) or full-on. It has a very unique sound, ranging from uplifting to either harsh melodies but always very emotional. The emotions in the Positive Alchemists comp is also what fascinates me about the album. All the tracks are melodic and full-on but not in the usual copy/paste way but with a lot of old-school (well, IMHO of course) influences. The give me deep feelings and I have some pictures in my mind with every song, ranging from spring landscapes to people dancing in the night on a decorated dancefloor. I've rated both albums with a 5 at discogs (or a straight 10/10 if you prefere that) because I really love every single track on them. Each of them is a real masterpiece and I also appreciate the way the tracks are combined on the CDs.
  12. I don't know how the music sounds but judging from the cover I would think it's some r'n'b-house-hip-hop record if I saw this at the store.
  13. I still doubt you have heard too many full-on tracks in that quality. I mean you hate the style so why should you bother to download different tracks to really get an overview over if? If you had then you should have noticed that the production quality of a lot of tracks itself is good, even when the music is by far not as good as Twisted for example.
  14. Two things radi: First: Just because Twisted's production is so great doesn't mean that all releases from that period are equaly good. Second: How can you judge production quality of anything if you don't listen to the original release but onyl MP3s? Judging from your posts you hardly own any original CDs. And if you do, I doubt you own any full-on so... But it's for no use anyway I guess.
  15. Again another DJ-mix: Morning Star - Lift Off Better than the first Morning Star mix imho... (but I'm only heard two tracks).
  16. I know you were (somewhat at least), so was I...
  17. The same description easily fits the minimal tunes. Which means the circle (of this topic...) has closed somewhat...
  18. And another DJ-mix: Morning Star - In The Morning Mix
