  1. Checking psysnopes... no, maybe it IS real! Terrifying!
  2. You are one of the lucky ones then - read any of the psyshop complaints threads on isratrance for example. The problem is... if you get your order and it's fine, then okay. If they forgot a CD or the package goes missing, fucking forget about it. Personally, I always found them more expensive than any other service.
  3. The stuff in my sig still pwntz that.
  4. Whatever, develop your own metric of the reviews as well that the releases. That's what everyone has to do anyway. DP is indeed enthustiastic but hey, that's cuz he likes the stuff! Is it contrived? Only he would really know, and I hardly expect someone to put as much time as he does into this stuff if he didn't really find all this stuff to be a lot of fun. Years ago you never knew who was reviewing stuff except in some circumstances... I used to read reviews here from freak51 and stormbringer and slowly sorted out that their words had more impact for me. Nothing is changed but there are a lot more reviews, and I believe the reviewers are far more consistent in the way they do things... this makes reading them a lot less trouble. I tend to take DP's reviews with a grain of salt because I'm much more picky, whereas profane and I are usually on the same page. When you get to know these things, then the reviews are helping you out, right? Truth as a concept isn't relevant to the subjective reviewing of music. It only matters whether we are truthful with ourselves.
  5. I read a guy cohen review today...
  6. Yes, and apparently you like high prices and shitty customer service.
  7. Uh, guys, what is the template for? is this like psytrance madlibs?
  8. You really ARE my opposite in nearly every respect! FUCk! Wirikuta is fine, the package came quick. Half the CDs were shattered (poor packaging) but hey, I'm overseas, and jewel cases are cheap. No big deal. I made the order to nab Dreams like Deserts, which I couldn't find anywhere else, and Magnetrixx - Phase Shift, which is also not commonly available.
  9. Industrial was my last step before trance... it's not a huge leap to go from FLA to Cydonia however
  10. I mostly review stuff I like, but not always. I have written long reviews and arrived at a 2 or 3 out of 10 mark.
  11. Here you go! http://www.psynews.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=28597

  13. I'm finishing up my review of In the Nude! and it's great... always loved this album - it's a total 9/10. You've gotta dig the funk tho.
  14. Why not PHP? You want more than a review site with users?
  15. PENTA annnd... oh, anyone. Sandman? I've not heard a Penta collab yet, but it could rock. Hydrophonic and Aphid Moon should be repeated again and again. Azax Syndrom and Wizzy Noise!!!
  16. Sounds like me Start up a collaborative coding project perhaps? If anyone around here has PHP knowledge it could go a long way. I'm happy that I'm working hard on my new site, FINALLY... no more astralogue though. But oh will there ever be REVIEWS!@# AHHH
  17. Someone must have this classic!!
  18. I made a .torrent for this batch of tunes http://www.ektoplazm.com/tracker/torrents/...05)_MP3.torrent
  19. Get the new .torrent! That's the old one - it no longer works. http://www.ektoplazm.com/tracker/torrents/...05)_MP3.torrent http://www.ektoplazm.com/tracker/torrents/...05)_WAV.torrent
  20. Fair enough... it's a great album anyway! Ott is a forum member here - I wonder if he'd care to put some words in on the subject
  21. How's it sounding out there in quasispace, Arilou?
  22. I'd say it's really interesting... others would disagree. The album has some deeper and lighter stuff to open, and goes darker and more psychedelic near the end. I tend to appreciate that sort of variety in an album. I'd recommend it.
