  1. I don't know their music but I went to see them live... didn't find it all that exciting really. Crazy - sure... interesting, only marginally. It was bizarre seeing an entire room of people not dancing at a party... just stroking their chins.
  2. Dino has two versions - one that sucks large, and one that sucks less.

Another bump before I go ebaying again... http://www.ektoplazm.com/basilisk-for_sale.txt Also got Andromeda Remixes, Gaudium - Nordic Nature, V/A - Psychedellically yours 2, V/A - Deliver Us from Evil and some more lying around...
  4. You're such a prick sometimes...
  5. Welll thanks for that recommendation but Goodfellas is still full on... the second track has some old school riffs to it though, yes indeed! Suprisingly I found the CPU track VERY catchy and will be picking this one up.... I dislike CPU, havent heard a single track of their's that I like, but that's probably the best use of vocoder I've ever heard in trance...
  6. Oh, I see... well, I am often tackling releases that I have purchased which don't seem to have been reviewed - and usually there's some sort of reason for that I'll get to some favourites sometime soon.
  7. I don't really get what you're trying to say with that.
  8. Another psynews thread shitcanned by some tool, yay... thanks larry. Squaremeat cover rox! I have to admit the new Orion appeals to me as well:
  9. I should do a review of this album, its seriously one of the best from last yr.
  10. Yeah, it is sort of a B-list proggy compilation. Solid if you want to throw more of that thick Northern European sound in your collection but not essential really.
  11. I cannot for the life of me sort out what is good about this act... I've tried and tried but it just doesn't sound any good to me. There's one track that I take as representative - Things that go Bump in the Night - but aside from that... sorry, can't say I dig.
  12. Basilisk

    V/A - Hunters

This one gets my stamp of approval... it's diverse, and the quality is high. I will probably do a full review in a bit but wanted to throw my recommendation in while it's still hot.
  13. Seems like I gotta do these things myself around here http://www.psynews.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=26488 Overall it's an average album for me, but I'm glad I snagged it for The Wolf, which is indeed fantastic.
  14. Manifold - X-Ray Attraction [Déjà Vu 2005] CD Review: http://www.ektoplazm.com/reviews/manifold-x-ray-attraction/
  15. What an asinine squabble! I say both Shpongle and Entheogenic are really great... and I suppose I'm better off for enjoying them as much as I do. At some point you can just say these artists have their own thing going on, it's respectable, and leave it at that. It's not a competition.
  16. Haha, is that one for real? Shampoo commercial - bang on!
  17. Did you get out to cherry beach for the free party here?
  18. Yes, Eclipse was wicked! These guys are putting Canada on the map for trance festivals... I was really impressed by the great organization of the event and the wonderful location. The music was great as well, with a few exceptions (but you can't please everyone - and certainly not me! haha)... peace.
  19. It was Eclipse, up in the Gatineau, Quebec. Midi Miliz put on a great live show... I've been so sick of seeing psytrance artists bust out a lap-top and just hit play... these guys were seriously working it. Didn't hear too many Spirallianz tracks in there but it was wicked just the same. No Alibi is great live! The Delta had a LOT of new material in their set so you can bet there's going to be a new album sometime soon... although there was one very questionable track showing X-Dream's electro influence in there - some track that goes "the DJ is dead, change the music!" all over the place, which is essentially quite ironic. Whatever their first track was it had THE hardest low-end kick drum I've ever heard in my life... there was something like a three minute dark cinematic intro (think: The Thing) and then FWOOOM FWOOOM FWOOOM FWOOOM insanely hard kick just crackling out of that excellent system they had set up. It was intense! Not so much fun for dancing (what do you do aside from headbang or stomp your feet into nubs?) but still, quite good... they did get to some old classics at the end of their set and overall, it was excellent. And very German.
  20. See my recent review of E vs Y in the 2003 subroom...
  21. I just got home from a festival where I heard Midi Miliz vs Spirallianz followed by the Delta. It was all very German. Insightful post +1
  22. Wow, that was confusing. I had taken the title to be that which is found on the back, but I see now there are some very clever word games being played here. I can't fix the title of the thread but I fixed the rest. Whoops! We don't put dots on the letter 'a' where I come from, so can ya blame me for being confused?
