No one ever reviewed this fantastic release, so I'm trying to do it some justice now... but damn, whats a great and unique piece of audio art!

I can't say I like it much so I do remember some of the artists who had something similar... Mystica Luminus Shiva Shidapu Trivia (once upon a time I loved this album, see the reviews here. No fucking idea what was wrong with me, but hey, I used to dislike Etnica) Encens + Ominus Asia 2001 perhaps? Some MWNN and Transwave... Mostly Israeil stuff I guess.

AHahaha... must be reposted on this page. I don't know where the fuck this thread went. I'm about the nicest guy you could meet, but I feed my dark side. I don't think anyone is taking satanism very seriously in psytrance - it's just a solid source of atmosphere. This music is about taking you places, right? Then lets journey into the darkest corridors! Lets be as terrified as we are exhilerated by this chosen sound! I've always loved Xenomorph's tracks because they take the darkness to an extreme, just as there are extremely melodic/uplifting artists. Psychedelic trance is an enjoyable movement to be a part of precisely because there is such a wide range of moods and styles available to the devotee. Bring on the satanic trauma trance, I say! This outlook is why you will find, in the same order, the new Jaia alongside something such as Para Halu's (which I must listen to soon)... not so common, is that?

Seriously one of the best released so far this year... what a hybrid of styles this is! It is a very interesting direction that Tegma has gone in with this release. Sure to win a 9/10 out of me - I listen to this all the time all tracks are great here!

Stunning, but then again I am a heavy prog listener. High quality electronic music... you can tell he works creating sounds for television and movies - this is highly textured. I'm only just getting into it but to begin with I cannot resist the sexy sounds of the first dance number, and the orchestra track is simply brilliant. Loving it - sure to be on heavy rotation this summer and beyond. You can immediately tell this is MADE TO LAST. Profane's got it right. I think I'll drop in with a longer and more detailed review when I've absorbed more of it.

I realized I overlooked one of their very best - Waiting for a New Life... "if I could discover just one of these things..."

Here's a group that has released a TON of material - four albums (at least - throw in the Antidote's material and it's at what - six?) and yet I don't find that they have more than a handful of really stellar songs... but the ones that excel - wow. Some of the enduring classics of Goa trance, unmatched by anyone else. I've not heard a tune like Can't Do That with it's frantic emotional chords and twisted bass shifts, and while Transparent Mind does hold some similarities to other old school Goa tracks it's still a total KILLER in the true sense of the word. Ever heard that loud out at a party? I've played it out a few times and it totally tore things apart (who sez old school has no power because the production is weaker?!)... So, what else rocks? The Crucible (classic) Le Lotus Bleu (which mix though?) The Furnace (last half isn't as good, but that first run - whoa!) Aliens (sooooooooooo retro - I still love this one) Chaotic Circus (heh heh too fucked up not to make the list) A lot of the rest though - hmm. I'd argue that TE have a lot of verrrrry mediocre stuff in their discography. Album-wise I really enjoy all of Delta Aquarids as a listening experience - but any other? No thanks. Your opinion?

I notice that with some trance, I simply don't sense the BPM at all... MWNN's Teleport is 136 for example? BPM became so standardized... it became linear. File everything into the appropriate category based on speed... meh, that's not interesting. Juno's up at 150 and Etnica drop to 130. Why settle on any particular speed? Fast and slow are both good, and not just for music...

Why is this a surprise? Where have you been since 2001?

This is what I'm doing after I get back from my vacation in a couple of weeks... I'll have about 200 pieces of music to get rid of on ebay. It's far too much. Now that I'm done with DJing for a while I can play lots of old school... which I find I enjoy a great deal more. It's hard to top some of the brilliant classics... I'm thinking Orichalcum and the Deviant here... brilliant! I put the album from Semsis on last night and was so totally into it... forget wading through full-on crap of dubious value, THIS is real music.........

...this mini-album is still some of the most intelligent-sounding psychedelic trance ever made. Brilliant work that always inspires... so many unique sound textures and stunning composition. I'm always surprised when I see someone writing somewhere that they aren't very into this release... Ah, back when T.I.P. was releasing the works of genius.

That's quite irrelevant. Of course I download stuff... I download lots! It's the best way to scope out what new releases to purchase. If I like it - I buy it. If not, it gets the axe. Nonetheless, the original author expresses a desire to discuss some new music from Magnetrixx, and owing to the fact that they've got an excellent album that just came out, why not check that out instead of some dubious promo? I'm assuming this is newer material, and likely to be on the album.

Agh, I just realized how misleading that statement was... no, I mean I recorded what I played (as in written down) whoops I will be putting together a tribal-themed mix sometime however, and it would likely include many of these tracks.

I'm posting my set list from last night's party here since I bothered to record it. The setup... this was a tribal-themed event in the woods just inside Toronto, with about 150 people at it. I was to play for 3 hours following a drum circle (no amplified sound at the time). Then they realized all the people there were not a bunch of needle using hooligans, and they told us all to carry on, but be sure to clean up! It was rad... so I led back in with a really pounding tribal track, brought it into the progressive realms, and then gradually upped the energy levels. Playing these songs live is a lot different from hearing them at home - some tracks have unexpected power and crowd response (i.e. "The Calling") whereas others, which sound great at home, didn't interest people as much (Lish for example). Peak moments of crowd response, for those interested: Beija Flor (say what you will about this track, people fucking love it on the dancefloor), Going Down (I always play this track, it's a signature), Navras (OF COURSE), Taruna's Sacred Tree (lovely song), and Demon Dance through to the very end (once the full-on came out and even after I did a quick switch to old school people were just going crazy the whole time)... the sun rose as I finished. It was a great night Maybe that gives someone some insight...
