  1. Crikey, I actually maxed out at 50 options. Now I just found out I can't edit the poll. D'oh. Well keep dropping in the recommendations anyway... still searching for the good stuff. Actually I love Dark Soho's Combustion album but I wouldn't lump it in with these guys honestly. It's more than just a genre piece - they have their own thing going on - which is completely excellent. I have been playing that album a lot recently, just bloody blasting it when I'm feeling antagonistic. RARRRRR.
  2. Argh... so I'm still trying to dig up some goodies from the immense spread of so-called "darkpsy" releases out there and I'm constantly having trouble finding albums where I like more than one or two songs... so I'm making this big poll - sound off on what you think is good, and maybe the better releases will begin to stand out somewhat. I included the Ambivalent sound with the Russian/Azax movement though I do recognize they have their differens... there's a bit from South Africa on the list as well. If there's anything essential I'm missing just point it out! VOTE!!!
  3. I say I'm not 100% because that is genuine... my outlook changes like anyone else's... the creative process to develop a mix like this is very involved (this was months of effort for example). One can get very lost inside the creation, and only regain the ability for reflection after a release from the rigourous process that results in the finished product. Second thoughts are only natural, as I take this craft quite seriously is that less confusing? I'm happy with the mix anyway - I've finally got one I won't have any issue with playing decades from now to remember one facet of the sound I was into back in 2005...
  4. Tribal textures and Goa trance go so well...
  5. Thanks Trolsk... I'm also not 100% on the chilled intro and outro but it seemed like the right thing to do at the time Not psytrance? Depends where you drop the axe I suppose... I would be glad to see this mix generate some debate on that subject, but do give it a listen first...
  6. Don't think about the past - just be here now. Don't think about the future - just be here now. You will have super consciousness and super energy and you will know just what to do...
  7. I see no reviews for this release so I'm wondering if anyone has any thoughts... I am detecting a hint of Cydonia leads in some of these tracks and it has struck my interest!
  8. Keep it real, that's all I can say. More people need to be digging through the oldies...
  9. Dust off an old classic today! This morning's strong recommendation, released February of 1994: http://www.psynews.org/reviews/trustin2.htm http://www.discogs.com/release/67191
  10. I agree... I loved this album and played it to death when it was fresh for me. The apple represents the forbiddin fruit, the ultimate sin... Big Bang Boogie has the Swedish Chef theme in it (or something from the muppets, right). What's not to love?!?!
  11. Wow, never even heard of that one... cool find.
  12. Well, it isn't the same tracks - not entirely anyway. I think there are a few from the actual album but they are not titled properly, and some of these (i.e. the song with samples "music... hypnotic") are definatly NOT on the CD release. Listen to the Chaos to Order remix from the mp3 version - does it sound ANYthing like the original? It could be that there are different mp3 releases however -shrug- point being, buy the damn CD
  13. Joti Sidhu - Punktuator [Neurobiotics 2004] CD New Sensations See the Music Chaos to Order [Remix] Punktuator Long Long Arms Twinight [Live] Live Fast Die Young [Remix] Situation Signals [Remix]
  14. I picked up Retrodelic Vibes 2 and noticed a definite difference in the sound quality... it was mastered by Avi (Space Cat) and I see he's taking on other albums like the newly released re-issue of Witchcraft. Has anyone else noticed a difference? And does it hold true for other re-issues like Prana's Geomantik, Cydonia's debut, etc?
  15. Another one for the DJs perhaps? It's on my watch list anyway...
  16. I don't really like that kind of guitar trance... but damn if there ain't some really rockin' stuff when you go back a few years... Cydonia - Mind Hunter [Tim Schuldt's Reconstruction] Tim Schuldt - Pale The Delta - Travelling at the Speed of Thought Groupie Syndrome - Pacemaker I dare you to compare that last one to any modern track in the style. It will fucken floor you. Tim Schuldt pwnz.
  17. I have to post this one for whatever reason...
  18. Yahel is exposing the irrational prejudices of psytrance fans everywhere with his gouda trance.
  19. I would argue that it is all four this isn't a LAME cover contest now is it?
  20. I am sensing isratrance sentiment in this post, prepare to be beaten by wiffle bats.
  21. Choose a track which was good to begin with, which the remixers totally did wrong to. On the moment I would identify the Beat Brothers remix to 4CN's Pendulum as a real tragedy.
  22. Did we really go through this whole thread without any mention of... ???
