Give this one a chance... Your Own Reality was a rather dope tune. -
NEW PLANET B.E.N. ALBUM "FULL ON"

I agree. I laughed. I cried. Why am I not tired of it? <3 the avatar... -
I heard the original in an old-style diner one time and started trancing out Yes, it's another good one...

Chuddup, this ain't Isratrance - fresh topics can spawn new thoughts! INTROS! Morphem feat. Naveen - Iridisence (probably spelled wrong) Son Kite - On Air Ticon - Don't Tell Me I Sing Like a Robot Digital Sun - Strange Things Poly 61 - Elemanansae (spelled this wrong too :/ ) X-Dream - Screw the Truth Native Radio - Chiba City Blues Lunaspice - Deep Diving ... <3 Juno Reactor - Rotorblade Transwave - Sonica Dream Morphem - Magma Cosma - Out of Range (Son Kite Remix) - one of the BEST. Hmm, this is a rather diverse list

Entheogenic's second album is quite nice...
-
Actually, I really like the GMS remix of this tune. Going back a few years there were some nice full-on hits here and there, but now we're over-saturated.
-
It is 3000km from Toronto to Vancouver. Airfare is often over half that of flying to Europe! What! Well there are always events here... you just missed Phony Orphants, Koxbox, and Tegma... while Broken Toy, Midi Miliz, and Metronome will be here soon. In past years we've seen Tetraktys, M.O.S., Juno Reactor, Neuromotor, Son Kite, and Analog Pussy to name a few. Infected Mushroom show up at least once a year but they only play the guvernment - not sure if you're familiar with the place but it's one of those not-so-"super"-clubs where you'll be packed in like cattle and be forced to dance under some shirtless guy's hairy armpit. Some people call this fun but I haven't seen IM in town since they played a show in a smaller venue Once you get out to some events and meet some people it will grow easier to find out about the parties... it is fairly underground here.

Put on a suit and mix "mission not possible" with "license to slink" - it works. This is what we in the business would call SPYTRANCE.
-
Which part of the country are you from? There are groups coming to Toronto and Montreal fairly often...
-
How about specific releases, hmmm maybe? Oh yes I forgot about Lemurians somehow... that album is grizzeat.

The core was seduced by technology. The mistake was made that one could not continue to explore the realms opened by the Goa movement; that evolution required backing away from maximal complexity and a return to a more basic approach to psychedelism. The artists and label owners at the forefront always did have a chip on their shoulder about being the black sheep of electronic music - this can wear you down until you want to assimilate, to create something closer to what brings others greater success than your own. Oh, there are many reasons... but I'd maintain that some of the movers and shakers got tired of it too quickly, and went to go leap on the future train that, as we saw in the post-millenial minimal movement, didn't really lead anywhere. Hmm, always possible to write a lot on this subject but let's not confuse ourselves here - there are less than a handful of releases which you could really denote as being Goan these years so for all intents and purposes the movement is at a standstill. I do hope for a true revival however... let's turn our heads to the long-standing quote in shahar's signature, shall we? Be the change you want to see in the world (Gandhi).

Please, no bashing on this thread (the rest of the board is yours however!)... I'm cracking open this topic so we can throw out some names of the full-on releases that actually don't suck so hard. They do exist! Just go by this rule of thumb - 95% of any music genre is crap, so where's that 5%? A few albums I enjoyed: Electric Universe - Cosmic Experience must top the list, if you would call that full-on... great album! Hydrophonic - Aquabatics has the deepness to the beats that give it added character. Mr. Peculiar & the Shapeshifters audiovisual journey Syncrosect is worth the experience, great tunes as well! Penta's Pentafiles is dope for the dark style. For compilations: Penguin Rebellion is a great slice of the south african madness. Trancexpressions is nice and varied, crazy Safi track on this one and a decent assortment of highlights. The Turning is strong thanks to Artifakt's killer tune (yes I can use that term once in a while). Vaporize is probably the sleeper hit of 2004, nice variety and its packed with goodies, high quality level throughout. Wingmakers is actually quite good, plenty of top cuts to be found here from a good assortment of artists... So let's hear a few of your reco's and maybe a few words as to why it don't stink like the rest a few things to think about when considering if a full-on release is good: - is there a variety of sound or does it all sound the same? - are layers used or is it just a bunch of cheap effects with no depth? - is the production rotten or does it appear that time was spent to make it sound good? - does the release have an application for home and car as well as the dancefloor?

Skazi's remix of I Wish takes the cake. I'm throwing tomatoes next time I hear that one at a party... if I have tomatoes.

Hmm I disagree with the recommendations here. Try digging up Penta's album, that one rocks. Scorb is also quite good, though more upbeat. You won't have much luck trying to track down anything as demonic as Xenomorph however
-
I'd call it his best album since the very first one... but I was never a huge E.U. fan. Cosmic Experience is well-named, full of great blasting full-on hits still with that Goa feel. Hmm I should probably go in-depth and do a review since I still have a tough time picking out the favourites here...
-
^ watch out for the unclean marker of the OFF TOPIC stamp... oh wait, I was thinking of somewhere else This album is... MEH! We need more...
-
Now that I have the album I gotta wonder what all the kvetching is about... it's sweet, emotional, and flows nicely - on a first listen. He never really made psychedelic trance per se, so I'm not sure why anyone would demand that he live up to that... just enjoy it, or not. I think I'm going to...

I'm reading Dune right now... AP tunes play in my head when I hit the key passages
-
Hmm. AP has some really great songs, more on the anthemic side of trance. It is often the full albums that are hard to really digest - and they have plenty of mediocre material. But let's not forget the greats, and I think there is a fair share of them! Deep - not often... melodic, entrancing, emotionally uplifting - frequently!
-
Now, do they have any gems released thus far? I haven't tapped into these guys, sounds like more of the same trauma stuff at a skim.
