  5. Sorry for the delay, my connection has been incredibly bogged down in the last few days... I've even brought my laptop to a friend's to plug in and upload but it's taking a while! Will have this posted ASAP.

Compiled by Akhentek and Basilisk, this collection showcases the talents of several Canadian and American psytrance and downtempo producers, many of which are regular fixtures of the festival line-up. Pharaolidae’s “Four Seasons” is named after the amount of time taken to sample musicians and complete the song. Full credits of those involved: Alcvin Ryuzen Ramos (flute, bogorobo drum, jawharp), Jay Richard Walter (bass guitar, piano), Theda Phoenix Miller (vocals), Ray Vincent (synths), Margonaut (flute), and Akhentek (synths, tweaks, editing). The entire compilation was mastered by Akhentek and features artwork by Onbeyond Metamedia. I'll have some more to add when I get a chance to do some random listening of whatever I've acquired over the course of the year. Looking at the list above I am certainly missing some key releases that I haven't even heard yet...
  8. Twilight style psytrance on Ektoplazm: http://www.ektoplazm.com/style/twilight
  9. Sure, I just try to break down that association since it implies that free music is just music that you couldn't charge people money for. Plenty of artists release great music for free because they see the value in it.
  10. It's psytrance this time, though of course there will be a few excursions into breakbeat mode I should probably note that though there are only 7 tracks this is a full-length 80 minute album... so, plenty of long voyages here! If the next round of mastering goes well there's a chance we can have this online this weekend
  11. I haven't heard the new album but I am generally a die-hard Gappeq fan and like pretty much whatever he releases. I'd be surprised if he went so dark that there was no essential quality to his music anymore. I trust this guy.
  12. Great release... not sure why we would have to pay though his full-length is planned for release on the Kahvi netlabel from what I know!
  13. CYBERNETIKA - THE SCYTHE OF ORION Lost Technology (150 BPM) Impossible Mirage (150 BPM) Tyrannis (143 BPM) Transmitter (149 BPM) Cryostasis (147 BPM) Molecular Probe (153 BPM) Calling Mercurio (137 BPM) Ektoplazm is tremendously proud to present The Scythe Of Orion, the latest science fiction masterpiece by Cybernetika, a German producer revered for his eclectic genre-bending experimentation and heavy use of epic storytelling elements in electronic dance music. Cybernetika’s synthetic fusion of dark and energetic psychedelic trance with elements of industrial, drum ‘n bass, and classic Goa trance will send your mind spinning into the far reaches of outer space as the tale unfolds. As with his other album releases, Cybernetika has composed an epigraph to set the mood: “Invisible yet observing, the strangers transcended to a higher form of existence eons ago. As legend tells, the strangers once were like us, before they evolved into invisible deities no longer bound by time and space. Only a single relic of their ascension remains, holding the wisdom and the secrets of this superior civilization: The Scythe of Orion.” This album has been professionally mastered by Kri @ Audiovalve and features artwork by Thiago Schmitz. Download it for free in MP3/FLAC/WAV direct from Ektoplazm: http://www.ektoplazm.com/2010/cybernetika-the-scythe-of-orion
  14. I had a laugh when I heard bits of Joy Division and Chris Isaak smashed up in the middle of some hazy atmospheric break. Or was that the music on the speakers at the coffee shop? I couldn't really tell. Anyway, I can see this album will require many listens to formulate a real opinion... sounds very soft for the tempo, warmer and more relaxed as noted here. It works quite well for listening... and the effect is quite entrancing, though I am not personally into much high-BPM anything most of the time. There is a lot to digest here... so give it time.
  15. At first I was surprised to find a crew I hadn't heard of operating in my home town... but then I read the post. You realize this is a psytrance forum? Love the "glowstick legend" anyhow...
  16. Released! http://www.ektoplazm.com/2010/mukti-amida
  17. Transformation Of Reality was a revolution for me when I heard it... for so long I had been deep into progressive and darkpsy and hadn't heard any proper full-on psychedelic trance and then this came along: http://www.discogs.com/Braincell-Transformation-Of-Reality/release/1025548
