  1. For only having released four or five songs these guys sure made a huge mark on the Goa world!
  2. There was also the CD single for one of those 12" releases... the question I've always wondered is - were there additional tracks there?
  3. Most people choose psy-ambient or chill of some kind of home listening I think... there is very little in the way of middle ground, at times (though not so much if you consider the light/progressive styles - they are often quite comfortable for home listening)... Anyhow this is the exact middle ground I'm seeking for an album I am compiling... its all so up in the air right now though, since most of the demos I get are still four-to-the-floor hands-in-the-air psytrance (I don't think the artists quite get what I'm talking about when I say 'home listening')... but I hope to complete this project within the next bunch of months and will naturally say more at a better time. Bottom line... there's too much disposable DJ fodder being released these days; music that isn't really good months after its release (if ever, depending on whom you speak to). And thats a shame.
  4. blue planet corporation - arcana saafi brothers - wellness farm paradise connection - source of emotion etnica - deep east psylent buddhi - in the stream (sure i'm biased but i really DO like it)
  5. Jirah - just heard the album and I'm lovin' it... recommended!
  6. what the fuck have you been smoking? rat poison?
  7. I hear you... trying to work on this problem this summer People talk about variety in releases and I tend to think they're only partially right... true Goa spirit is rare to find.
  8. v4K I have a folder for that too - its called the trash bin... Trust me, I could easily go off on a huge rant about how hard that music sucks... I try to remain respectful as much as possible though still... I NEVER THOUGHT THERE WOULD EVER EXIST SUCH A THING AS PSY-POP!!!!! WTF!!!! *frenzy*
  9. ^^ been hearing that for YEARS!!!! how much music can these guys possibly make?
  10. I organize my stuff like this: Chill (ambient to downtempo, anything a bit relaxed) Deep (progressive and deep trance - vibrasphere, 12 moons, human blue) Goa (the real stuff) Psytrance (most modern releases) Strange (finnish/aussie/japanese sound and eat static) Techno (hard as authentik, deep as auricular) Trance (cheeze i rarely listen to... yahel, armin, etc) Other Its a bit tricky to sort like that on a shelf, because most of what I own is Goa, followed by a lot of Psy, and then just random smatterings of the rest... though all my 'Deep' stuff is really growing; its mainly what I like these days. Thank you Sweden peace
  11. guh I just realized that me posting the link could appear sneaky... I'd just like to say that was not the intent at all. I hadn't considered that these festies may be close enough that one or the other would draw off an audience, and usually its in bad taste to post about another party in such a thread... anyhow, whoops... have fun whatever you do this weekend =)

  13. Are the covers online anywhere? I really liked the finals from the second contest, would love to see them again... thanks
  14. If I'm not mistaken there are THREE festivals kickin off this weekend! One in BC, this one you speak of in Alberta or something, and the one in middle Ontario. Happy solstice weekend everyone!
  15. I hope its not anything like that 'Hex' project... I can't believe that came from a Green Nun. How about a Shpongle vs Matt Coldrick project? I think that could prove to be more interesting... or better yet, get Graham Wood(s) with Simon and Raja to make SUPERSHPONGLE
  16. there are some very dull progressive releases, and there are some very dull full on releases. each substyle has its own innovators and copycats. does it really matter so much? like what you like.
  17. not sure where you can find it, but this song is perfect for that: Mantis - Apollo
  18. Manufacturing costs go up as production volume decreases, especially with vinyl. Its all the one-time fees associated with the creation of a cd or vinyl...
  19. not suprisingly I also fall into the group of people who like the old style but have found something good in human blue and vibrasphere.... and c'mon, minimal isn't dead - they just call it prog now. it has become a bit different... i tend to find more stuff i like. good example: son kite... I started loving a lot of their productions in the past few years and was kicking myself thinking 'damn, did I just not give these guys a chance back in the day?' but no, after trying out their old material again my opinion doesn't change. different people are simply looking for different elements in the music they listen to...

    Four Carry Nuts

Check out the Catcher compilation... its not from any EP...
  21. blissful, top tunes... just as good as you think that combo should be, imho
  22. I'm looking forward to it... re-incarnation was uber-cheeze but really well done!
  23. Serious, reasonable price for excellent condition TIP orange: US$40. If its roughed up don't charge the arm and leg... I've had to buy this comp twice just to assemble a fully playing copy and one of the covers has coffee stains all over it. Bleh!
  24. 12 Moons - Nimbus EP... can't get enough of that track, its so warm and summery =) Albums? Ice-o-later was released this year riiight? well thats a smashin' comp, those Boom guys have exactly my musical taste for new stuff I must say...
  25. The second MFG album is where they really flourished in sound... its called 'New Kind of World' - be sure to check it out Daniel...
