  1. this web site needs an advice column - "ask elysium project" 'hey e.p., my goldfish is looking sick and is in fact floating at the top of his tank, WHAT SHOULD I DO???'
  2. well its from 1991.. is it really that bad? i'm a big tip fan, always been wanting to pick that one up some day...
  3. i am fully in support of the quality-not-quantity philosophy being implemented on this site now... so what if there's less reviews - the ones i read are the ones i'd want to be reading anyway, if i didnt have to wade through so much tripe! and hey, now we don't! good first step... now where's that redesign?? *shakes fist in extreme anger* just joshin' yaz
  4. good "production" helps but should not be the focus... for example i can listen to the new planet b.e.n. and be boggled at how crisp and full those heavy kicks are, but the music doesnt move me. meanwhile i can get tunes from an impulse tracker mod stuck in my head because hey, music is music ya know! creativity > production (of course, creativity is enhanced greatly by good production!) on the topic of the buddhas and groups with a dirty sound... well if thats the intention then whats so wrong? "oh no, here's a song that doesnt have gms basslines !!!"
  5. sure do! i dont hear the music i love at parties here.. where else is there to dance? it helps to have my loft... 20 foot tall ceilings, and i can just turn on the black lights and i might as well BE at a party... hey, think of it this way, this global phenomenon can be touched off anywhere.. here i am in a very un-psychedelic city halfway across the world from the pulsating heart of goa yet i can still dance... is it a cosmic connection? pardon me for waxing sentimental..
  6. you danes sure have a good attitude about things!
  7. its true, the situation is distressing... most of the artists i speak to seldom get paid, and some of the newer artists who make fantastic music have yet to make more than $50 for a track, and i dont know anyone who has been paid royalties. however... here's the trouble i can't quite understand - if the labels are ripping the artists off so much, why is cash so tight? does this mean that if a label were to pay a more proper amount that they would necessarily die a quick death due to lack of funds? (i guess i'll find out soon enough)
  8. just wait for the new CHI-A.D. 12" release... pure spirit!
  9. i dunno, they weren't doing much for me... interesting sound though.
  10. don't worry, i understand COMPLETELY enjoy!
  11. indeed, this is the good stuff... i dont typically like much from these artists when they're solo (a bit too tame, or in space tribe's case - stupid samples) but those two tracks are real corkers.. just what the world needs right now!
  12. yep! totally true if the labels release the songs to mp3 first, they get to choose the ID3 tag and everything. advertise with mp3s, why not?
  13. when you're done with the old vinyl feel free to contact me, i'm always looking to buy =) www.ektoplazm.com/astralogue/exchange.html (a somewhat accurate want/trade/sale list)..
  14. i havent bought any new records in a couple of months, for the first time in a LONG time... why is that, you ask? because audiogalaxy went down and then dc++ went private. funny, isn't it. i'd never say everyone supports the try-before-you-buy philosophy but i sure do.
  15. right on.. welcome back =) from one vinyl fanatic to another - respect!
  16. ah well.. keep an eye on the smaller labels, maybe they'll suprise you
  17. ran through a local record shop and saw a 12" from qube by axiom... i haven't really liked much on this label so far but this was a bit different. then i looked at the names... hey its been a while since i saw either of these guys doing anything! so, just thought some old fans would want to know they're up to something new, nowadays... its more "progressive" maybe but the tracks are kind of cool. slow and bass-heavy naturally, but more artistic than pounding i would think. one of the tracks has a downbeat sort of intro for half the song - genre busting songs like that are a nice change of pace sometimes. this healthy info tidbit brought to you by my insatiable vinyl cravings and data-spreading nature peaze
  18. FULL LOTUS! if you can tell me more about the universal sound 12" on pyramid i would like that.. never heard of that before but i like the group - thanks
  19. yeah, pretty much hey i picked up that steve active 12" on your recommendation not so long ago... its good, yes. i dont understand why no other paste material sounds like the songs there (actually psychedelic!).. good ear, sb.
  20. its got a bunch of names i have been watching for, looks like it could be good, but i just dont really buy cds unfortunatly. i hope shift and those guys get a vinyl release one day.
  21. anyone know if this was released on vinyl on blue room? "new aura / blue aura" sometimes comes up in listings but i've never been able to verify that this exists (or not).. any help would be nice tandu rox!
  22. yeah, er.. i don't think its particularly rare and it sure isnt goa or even any kind of prototrance... it is from '90 or '91 i believe. there's another old mwnn record from 1992 that starts to show signs of martin's later work... both are of interest to collectors only.
