Alright, just about ready to leave Horseshoe Bay for Squamish. Did I mention I'm playing a 3 hour old school set at this party? I hope to have it recorded but can't make any promises
-
I release some Goa trance on my netlabel, Ektoplazm.
-
I cannot choose... I like a bit of everything except for full-on pop.
-
Weird conflicts like this remind me of why I like working with free music and an open source ideology.
-
This is still one of my favourite chill albums... so silky smooth, play it anytime.
-
No surprise. And I am not interested in this kind of music. Maybe the album will have a few tracks worth saving...

V/A.-ORGANIC VISION Vol.1 (Moonquest Records)
Basilisk replied to shinobi's topic in Free Music Promotion
I doubt that... there are probably a bunch of releases from smaller labels that are duplicated instead of replicated. Many CD manufacturing plants do both nowadays; it's just a question of scale... and psytrance releases are not regularly selling 1,000 copies. -
V/A - KALILA 01 :: LiquidNoize - My friend EGo (152 BPM) 02 :: Farebi Jalebi - Giggle Pit (150 BPM) 03 :: Audio Psykosis - Senile Syndrome (150 BPM) 04 :: Ouroboros - Dreamer (155 BPM) 05 :: Adi - Tripplethree (148 BPM) 06 :: MunkE - Close Your Eyes (154 BPM) 07 :: Aghori Tantrik - Corpses Don’t Lie (158 BPM) 08 :: Hydropanic - ChapOri (150 BPM) 09 :: Allegoric Psynce - Travel Through Blackhole (150 BPM) 10 :: Bloodclot - Salad Fingers (154 BPM) 11 :: Spiral - eXpanding Aggresion (154 BPM) Compiled by Audio Psykosis and released by Liquid Frequency, Kalila is a sizzling darkpsy release showcasing the mind-altering sounds of the Indian psytrance underground. The title of this compilation is taken from the Panchatantra, an ancient fable chronicling the search for a “mountain herb that was believed to restore life to the dead.” This release has been mastered by Kri @ Audiovalve with paintings by Dhiren Sasmal, a celebrated artist and illustrator from West Bengal, and digital design by Yidam. No need to worry about that. -
Any suggestions on where to tap into the Swedish psytrance scene? Party info and that sort of thing? I have a friend visiting a farm in Uppsala right now and she has not found too much so far... would be nice to get some advice if there's anything to find, that is...

I don't mind high-quality "CDr" media either. There is a world of difference between burning something at home and having it professionally duplicated (as opposed to replicated via traditional glass master process). The only thing that miffed me was the €15 charge for a release that might now be available in the shops... but no matter, it's just a delivery vehicle, and as Mars says, it's a very nice release. -
RELIGULOUS! Now that's a great film!!

TAPWATR - THE END OF EVERYTHING EP 01 :: The End Of Everything (128 BPM) 02 :: The End Of Everything (René Patrique Remix) (128 BPM) 03 :: The End Of Everything (Theme Fe Remix) (132 BPM) 04 :: The End Of Everything (Knifestyle Remix) (128 BPM) Tapwatr (Jeremy Reid) returns with The End Of Everything EP, his second release with the German netlabel Digital Diamonds. The original track is a slick piece of driving minimal techno drowned in delay and accented with bleak electro motifs. Three additional remixes from René Patrique, Theme Fe, and Knifestyle round out the release with differing interpretations of Tapwatr’s distinct groove. Download it for free in MP3/FLAC/WAV direct from Ektoplazm: http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/tapwat...-everything-ep/ Also worth checking out: Tapwatr - Dirty Things EP and the complete Digital Diamonds discography.

Not so hard with the open API. You've done some coding with it?

McKenna is a great storyteller. For me, psytrance is music that really takes me somewhere. It ignites the imagination. And so does a scientific approach to studying the natural world. Rational does not mean plain or boring; reality is far more interesting than a lot of us give it credit for.

What's the story? I am starting to feel foolish for paying top dollar for the original limited release. -
I don't really believe in any of that stuff. Not big into drugs either. I take a rational view of reality.
-
This could be implemented at the distributor level if they weren't so locked into turning profits from physical media sales. Still, I like the idea; imagine subscribing to Wirikuta or Arabesque for 10 or 20 bucks a month to have unlimited access to everything in their catalogues at CD quality... I'd pay that!

Juno > Beatport. I think most of those releases are available at Juno for less. Do you really want to hear ads when you listen to music?
-
Thanks, I plan to expand the recommendations part of it at some point... realistically this should be done using the Discogs API. If there are any experienced PHP programmers out there that would like to help it might speed up the process. I was going to do it this summer but then I landed a job in a lab...

Why aren't there more American psy/ambient artists?
Basilisk replied to MattMan's topic in General Psytrance
One more for the record: http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/mukti-magick-mother-ep/ -
I play a fair amount of Dousk. Very versatile producer, great stuff!

MUKTI - MAGICK MOTHER EP 01 :: Magick Mother (145 BPM) 02 :: Awakening (Upon A Star Part 2) (150 BPM) 03 :: Eastern Wind (150 BPM) 04 :: Crossing Rolando's Fissure (152 BPM) 05 :: The Thanaton (152 BPM) The Magick Mother EP marks the debut of Mukti (Darren Harper), an American psytrance and ambient producer. This five part conceptual release explores the rich symbolism of the mother archetype, challenging the listener with raw psychedelic rhythms and powerful atmospheric effects. Although the style is associated with darkpsy it is better to think of it as twisted forest trance with space rock influences and a slightly lo-fi sensibility—not unlike Para Halu or Psykovsky in some ways. This EP has been mastered by Kri at Audiovalve and features artwork by Paul Zulauf.
