Johannes Heil - All For One... this track sounds like 2003-era Son Kite; big, bold, pumping tribal beats... but with a new twist! I've been iffy about a lot of productions from this guy but this one rocks. Robert Babicz - Krystalline. I know I mentioned him before but this track in particular is something extraordinary... loaded with sublime texture and topped with a great hook.

I'm getting this for sure... when I have some money. Glowing Flame is one of the top 5 labels working in the field today and this release is sure to be as great as their others. -

Have a look at my site. Since this thread was started we've posted something like 30 new released in MP3 and lossless-quality audio. Some of these have been mastered but not all. In almost all cases the mastering has been "in-house" i.e. by someone related in some way to the netlabel or artist providing the free release. The mastering issue remains: there are plenty of producers who recognize the benefit of releasing music for free but few engineers interested in mastering a free release without compensation. For our own in-house productions (EKTEP01, EKTEP02, EKTEP03, EKTLP01, and EKTVA01) I've opted for professional mastering. It has set me back close to $1,000 so far but I hope to offset this expense in a variety of ways (on-demand CD sales, additional bookings, cost-sharing with the artists in some instances, donations, etc). Most of these tactics are specific to the organization and vision of the Ektoplazm new media label and aren't necessarily viable for independent and small-scale content providers. Thus the original problem remains largely the same: professional mastering costs money and few qualified individuals are willing to donate their time to a free project. P.S. should this thread really be a "sticky"? It contains some interesting information but isn't exactly a definitive resource.

Joti Sidhu/Psychaos has released a lot of great tunes over the years. He has progressed from raw acid-driven Goa trance to techno-oriented psytrance and on to Ibiza-style full-on. His more recent material is rather fungible, but he still belts out a good tune every now and then. Some favourites of mine: OLD SCHOOL Perception Of Reality Intellect Psychaos Keyboard Widow Chaos To Order Free Lemonade Remix Future Rocks Reality Hack Off Limits (with Tim Schuldt) PSYTECH Acidica (Live) Mad Lane Flexual Esoterical Sonic Chemist Electronic Uncertainty Spinner Juice X-N-Trick DJT (with Tim Schuldt) Black Eyes The Player Creative Anomaly Down Pusher Punktuator Chaos To Order (Remix) FULL-ON Party Animals Long Long Arms (with Simon Posford) Acid Music (with Earthling) Looking through his discography I find that there are still a good 12 or 15 songs I haven't heard (mostly newer stuff on Spun Records and such)... surely there will be some good ones not on this list. And, as you can see, I really enjoyed his techno-oriented mid-period. Not everyone will though.

His remix of Mr. Decay is so great!

CONTAGION VOLUME 1 01 :: Necrospycho vs Astaroth - Experimental Evil Jow (6:54) 02 :: The Herectic - Claustrophobic Dimension (6:53) 03 :: Distorted Goblin - Through The Night (6:36) 04 :: Demonizz - Arknofobia (6:49) 05 :: Psychoz vs Hagenith - Psycause (6:47) 06 :: Morus - Lithium Unbalance (8:16) 07 :: Psyhamaa vs Ikpeng - Fingers Vertigo (7:38) 08 :: Karmazon - The Calling (7:33) 09 :: Kita - Screams of Satinka (7:33) Contagion Vol. 1 is the second release from Dead Tree Productions, a dark psychedelic trance label rooted in the Brazilian underground. Rebelling against the pervasive manipulations of mass media and pop culture, Contagion is an unlikely antidote for alienation and disillusionment. Through the use of twisted leads, brutal beats, and bleak atmospheric programming, this compilation explores the far reaches of the psytrance spectrum with some tracks approaching 160 BPM. Download it for free in MP3/FLAC (lossless): http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/contagion-volume-1/

What music are you listening to right now?
Basilisk replied to Sputum Rotgut's topic in General Psytrance
Koxbox - Echoes Of Dawn (1992, from Cyberworld) I suppose this would be their official debut? One can hear phantoms of their later work in this early piece... but it isn't necessarily worth hunting down; it isn't nearly as good as the World Of Illusions EP or Pipfugl/Birdy. -
It pays to read entire threads

The double-album Evolution Of Funk is in stores now... this is pure party-rocking music full of light and colour! I've been listening to the Planet Rock remake over and over...

Well, exactly... which is what I am doing, but I still have many of them lying around just about everyone out here who wants one has one already. But this is precisely what it might all be good for: spreading some of those good old Goa vibes around!
