If you are going to take content from my site please provide a link back. Provide credit where it is due! Especially if you are going to pirate releases on my netlabel! Keep the original content preserved and allow for listeners to return to the source. Thank you. -
The Growly Family tops my list with Chaos Laboratory running a close second. I've not been able to get into their later sound nearly as much--they have the occasional hit but GMS's anthems seem to wear thin after a few listens, perhaps due to the high concentration of samples from mainstream entertainment (The Simpsons, Star Wars, The Matrix Requiem For A Dream, and so on).

01 :: Deliverance (8:21) 02 :: Brain Telescope (7:35) 03 :: Unconscious Levels (8:39) The release of the Deliverance EP on Ektoplazm marks the debut of Soul Kontakt, an exceptional new psytrance act from Malta. Soul Kontakt capture the essence of morning trance with their clean and distinctive style. This EP features three original compositions overflowing with beautiful heartfelt melodies, smooth emotional atmospheres, and genuinely positive energy. Fans of the uplifting side of psychedelic trance will not want to miss this! The Deliverance EP is only the beginning; be sure to watch for news of Soul Kontakt’s forthcoming album, Future Memory. The Deliverance EP is available under a Creative Commons licence; you are encouraged to share, copy, broadcast, and perform this recorded work as long as it isn’t for commercial gain. In addition to the free MP3 and WAV packages, this release is also available for purchase on CD! Mastering for the Deliverance EP has been provided by Silicon Sound. http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/soul-k...deliverance-ep/

Pure science fiction music at its finest... this one really captures the feeling of outer space, as the titles and iconography suggests. Outer Rim is absolutely captivating (and it works wonders on the dance floor, I have discovered). This was totally not what I was expecting but I am really enjoying the experience of getting to know Spiral Empire so far... nice one Tyler!

Protonica / Suntree vs Given - Doxy002 MP3/WAV Single from D Oxygen Records, 2008 01 :: Protonica - Airflow (8:40) 02 :: Suntree vs Given - Rainy Day (8:35) The second release on D Oxygen Records is a split single featuring music from Protonica and Suntree vs Given. As with every other release on DJ TV’s Oxygen imprint, the songs of Doxy002 blend the best of psychedelic progressive with upbeat morning trance to achieve an intelligent crossover sound. There are no gimmicks here; this is pure trance designed to captivate the mind, body, and soul. The packaging and presentation is up to the standards of Sound Field’s Ascension EP, the first output from D Oxygen. Distinctive cover art and professional mastering by Tim Schuldt and Audialize mark this digital single as a high-end release. Behind Protonica is the German production team of Piet Kaempfer and Ralf Dietze from Berlin, both already known from the release of their debut album Search on AP Records in 2007. Although their contribution has been previously released on Map Of Goa Vol. 3 from Yellow Sunshine Explosion, this is the first time you can purchase it online. Airflow is a bold and powerful piece of psychedelic morning trance similar in some respects to the sound of Human Blue. It cruises along at 140 BPM, smoothly building energy with a multi-layered deployment of slick melodies and sizzling noises. Very nice work. Suntree vs Given (Alon Brilant and Tamir Plachinsky) make a strong impression with Rainy Day, a gorgeous piece of light morning trance that deepens the pace to 135 BPM. Bold grooves and tight drum programming provide a solid rhythmic foundation allowing for a deliciously slow progression of melodic elements. The overall effect is something like Lish with slightly more of a backbone. Another commendable effort. As expected, D Oxygen Records provides a dependable pair of crossover tunes designed to light up the morning hours. Doxy002 is pure quality all the way; DJs playing this style would be wise to give this release a shot. It will be available from Beatport and other reputable download shops in mid-April, 2008.

A survey for the new school Goa fans out there...
Basilisk replied to Basilisk's topic in General Psytrance
Another interesting thing to think about is this: how many sales do you suppose labels make on sites like Cytopia, Beatport, etc.? If CDs are selling 500 to 1,000 (and maybe more) do you suppose digital downloads are anywhere near comparable? From what I hear they aren't... not by a long shot. -

It is the second compilation from Buddha Mantra (who brought you State Of Spirit some time ago). -
This is a simple survey... I am just wondering if anyone has purchased any of these releases. Have I missed any, by the way?

download existing releases on russian sites... what to do?
Basilisk replied to supergroover's topic in General Psytrance
All you can really do is ignore these fakers and promote your work better than they do. Google might give you an idea of how robust your web presence might be. Try doing a search on exact titles and see what you come up with. If it is all Russian pirate sites then someone isn't doing their job right... Let's take a random survey using Google. The first number out of 10 marks how many pirate links come up on the first page. The second is the total number of results (another good measure of how effective your online promotions have been). braincell "transformation of reality": 4/10 links to illegal downloads, 850 results total. infected mushroom "vicious delicious": 0/10, 145,000+. ekoplex "enter the dragon": 1/10, 6,870. kindzadza "waves from inner space": 7/10, 2,340. hujaboy extreme: 5/10, 5,960. goasia "from other spaces": 3/10, 3,000. "ace ventura" rebirth: 1/10, 19,500. furious "uncanny beats": 5/10, 1,350. etnica "alien protein": 4/10, 6,560. hallucinogen "the lone deranger": 5/10, 9,750. electrypnose "where do we go": 3/10, 1,510. "wizzy noise" sabotage: 3/10, 5,140. magnetrixx wired: 2/10, 5,370. mekkanikka "global warming": 6/10, 273. (Sad results; it's all pirate links at the very top and no sign of a real label or artist homepage.) jikkenteki "flights of infinity": 0/10, 326. (This will be good to come back to in about a month to see how things have changed as it is still quite new.) One thing I was NOT expecting from this quick inquiry was how well my promotions for EKTEP01 have been... only Rebirth and Vicious Delicious resulted in more search hits! Anyhow, you can see how widespread promotion is able to flood the pirate sites off the top ten... but of course all you have to do is add "download" or "mp3" to any search and you will probably find exactly what you are looking for. -
Alright, I just added a bunch of relatively current CDs to the sale list... check 'em out1 :clapping:

Yes! It is being released in WAV! That's the best news I've heard all day!
-
I prefer the new one... the improvement in production quality really counts when it comes to this sound. WFOS is unarguably easier to digest but I don't listen to Kindzadza expecting a break

I was sort of hoping someone who might own those tracks would know You can catch some previews here though: http://www.cytopia.org/album.php?AlbumNo=148& http://play.saikosounds.com/m3u/06c/88.m3u

Here are two more pictures that show the open case and CD surface: http://www.ektoplazm.com/img/ektep01cd-3.jpg http://www.ektoplazm.com/img/ektep01cd-4.jpg I'm working on getting the factory to offer clear tray inserts and they seem receptive to the idea if I have any news on that front I'll be sure to share. -

I've had a few confused messages about the on-demand CD manufacturing service offered with this release... well, let me just confirm that yes, they are real! Here's a bunch fresh from the factory: In a few weeks we should have several more like this to offer in our catalogue -
Well, thanks for the vote of confidence! It would be an interesting challenge to tackle, especially now... but I think I might have my hands full with university, the netlabel, and everything I already do with my current web site. Then again, I am working on building an online shop to handle CD orders from my site, and it wouldn't be tough to add download functionality. I guess we'll see how it goes...
