  1. 01 :: Distorted Personalities (7:04) 02 :: Bouncing Spheres (6:41) 03 :: Skyline (6:03) 04 :: The Source (5:29) The Movements EP is the debut offering from Sub Atomic, a psytrance project founded in the year 2000 by Philip Touralias of Athens, Greece. Sub Atomic was inspired by the millennial sound of Logic Bomb, Koxbox, Etnica, and Echotek—and their influence still shines through. With its smooth pulsating rhythms, dreamy melodies, and shimmering atmospheres, this release defies contemporary trends in the pursuit of providing a deep and meaningful experience of pure psychedelic trance. Download it now in 320k MP3 or lossless WAV format: http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/sub-atomic-movements-ep/
  2. Psychedelic trance is not dead. If you need any proof, here are a few of the more notable releases of 2007:
  3. Wicked news... as for Extrawelt being deviant, do you really think so? Many of their tracks are very touching, I find... like Midi Miliz doing morning music.
  4. I'm glad I'm not the only optimist around here... I mean, have you even heard the latest CD from Braincell? Psytrance is alive and kicking! Never mind the forgettable commercialized pap pumped out by the usual suspects...
  5. Any chance to change the name? Jester Records already exists: http://www.discogs.com/release/658928
  6. The new release on Digital Diamonds... very nice Elmshorn-style techtrance! http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/dan-ro...ooking-back-ep/
  7. 01 :: Sonify feat. Takashi Fujimori - Oldschool Rollers (9:28) 02 :: Sonify - King Of The Swing (10:08) The latest free release from Andy Yakovlev’s acclaimed Sonify project features a pair of smooth and funky progressive house tunes loaded with slick grooves and stylish rhythms. Produced alongside Takashi Fujimori, Oldschool Rollers is sure to arouse a nostalgic response with its cheerful piano flourishes and vocoded rhyme schemes. King Of The Swing digs deep with irresistible bass lines and jazzy atmospheric twists. Altogether this upbeat EP from N.Division Media is a tasty treat for funky dance music lovers everywhere! http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/sonify...f-the-swing-ep/
  8. I've got it posted up on my site as well (with a higher-quality MP3 package if you prefer 320 over 192): http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/amber-gold-of-the-north/
  9. Don't forget about Discogs... reviewers like Skeleton Man do a great job over there.
  10. I thought it was all right... but that's mainly because I really like the Ololiuqui sound. You can read my full review here: http://www.ektoplazm.com/reviews/ololiuqui...se-engineering/
  11. I've had a few on steady rotation in the last little while, thought I might share (and hope to hear your recommendations as well). Kuba - The Road To Find Out Cell - White Call Goasia - Pray For Rain Pitch Black - 1000 Mile Drift Younger Brother - Elephant Machine Eat Static - UFO Over Trenchtown Morphem - Love Is An Ocean Jaia - Desert Walk Most of these are some form of psydub and many have some vocal elements... something about this combination (when it's done right) really gets to me... I am finding that I like downtempo that jumps out in some way--perhaps a reaction to all the common psychedelic chill on the market these days. So what are yours? Any era, any time... but let's hear what you are actively listening to these days, not just "all-time classics"
  12. I'm glad you're digging the Digital Diamonds release they are quite good. I would also recommend Five Tons Of Flax, Chronika Chapter Two, and Refresh.

    Amsterdam

I shopped in Amsterdam and found little of interest... except when I was allowed to raid the Platenkoning warehouse now that was a dream! But they're closed now...
  14. Isratrance reviews are quickest but often filled with hype and such nonsense... nowadays there are not too many pros plying the digital airwaves. I'm certainly not keeping up at all--I just review whatever I feel like reviewing, and that is rarely what is brand spanking new.
  15. 01 :: Senzar - Into The Forest (4:43) 02 :: Lauge - Fall (3:02) 03 :: June Rashava - It's You (7:35) 04 :: Sövnigt Sind - Small Tribe Celebrating Life (7:47) 05 :: Nelson Mandala - Käse Brezel (6:48) 06 :: Onkel Dunkel - Ice Queen (8:49) 07 :: Erot - Quod Erat Demonstrandum (6:46) 08 :: NASA - Mortal Coil (8:07) An exotic blend of organic downtempo with a pinch of deep psychedelic trance from Denmark: http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/amber-gold-of-the-north/
  16. Juno Reactor's recent output has been all about the cinematic experience.
  17. Check the Turbulence compilation for their best work. I'm also fond of Sacred Fist, License To Slink, Funkus Munkus, Slick Witch, and Supernatural. Radi, learn to use Discogs. You would discover that the two tunes you listed involve Simon Posford.
  18. I made reference to these statistics last month when I made a post about the 100,000th free music download on my site: http://www.ektoplazm.com/blog/100000-free-music-downloads/ Not even a month later and we're about to crack 125,000... yikes.
  19. #1: Moon Tribe! http://www.ektoplazm.com/trip/moonchild.html
  20. Wired is still making waves out here... so I am really looking forward to this!
  21. I agree with Jikkenteki. Ben Watkins is a true musical visionary... don't expect him to make anything according to old templates. In my opinion Juno Reactor hasn't done a trance album since Bible Of Dreams--more than a decade ago. Incidentally someone leaked a few tracks to Youtube a while back (they're gone now)... the one track I remember was some kind of eerie breakbeat thing with some metal guitars going on.
  22. Neo full-on? Nope. Cosmic Experience stands out as something of a unique album... Boris Blenn has his own signature sound. If you want to hear what the whole neo thing was about I suggest you search for it on my site... I've identified several releases in my reviews that were part of that (thankfully) short-lived movement. In my opinion it never amounted to anything worthwhile. The most boring aspects of progressive blended with the most cliche elements of full-on? I don't know who ever thought that was a good idea...
