  1. My girlfriend would have a tale to tell about this... I always leave music on when I sleep (it blocks out the street noise), so one morning Bluetech - Leaving Winter Behind was playing through... and she had a vivid waking dream she describes to all kinds of people... I would do it no justice here but this is a beautiful track. Some staples of my "sleepy list" include Bluetech, Shulman, Galaxy, TIP, Ooze, Ishvara (ISHQ isn't it?), H.U.V.A. Networks, and Doof.
  2. What, he is a big mafia drug lord too? http://goadourado.sulekha.com/blog/post/20...an-roulette.htm
  3. Blue Planet Corporation - Blue Planet Indoor - Progressive Trance (which is not progressive trance) Morphem - Out of Focus Human Blue - Ice Passenger - For All Man Kind Try those if you haven't...
  4. To save a click... here is the conversation. First, two messages from a user named Trick: XP's reply: Someone hire this man a PR firm... or perhaps an anesthesiologist.
  5. Wow this brings me back... remember when Psynews had an "upcoming releases" list on the site? And we actually obsessed over when an album was coming out? I have totally fallen out of that practice... I don't read the news or stay current any more; I just investigate whatever I find swimming around the new releases list at Saikosounds or catch the buzz here in the Psynews general forum... come to think of it, there is one tune I am really curious to hear released--does anyone know more about Wizzy Noise's Trip Tonite remix?
  6. Greetings all. I've been working on a project I call the TRiP Retrospective, a sort of psytrance "time capsule" reviving the old site in static form along with some stories about those days. As the direct predecessor to Psynews itself, TRiP was quite important back in the day! If you have any fond memories, feel free to write a comment on the main project drop page or jot a few words down here. For reference (now that it's up): http://www.ektoplazm.com/projects/trip-retrospective/ Of course, if anyone has Jason C's contact info I'd love to interview him for this project...
  7. I really liked the U.D.D. album released through Antiscarp... here's my story on it: http://www.ektoplazm.com/audio/udd-natural-rebellion/ And you can now check out my catalog of free music here: http://www.ektoplazm.com/section/audio/?view=list
  8. http://www.psyremixes.nm.ru/index_eng.dhtml  Many fakes of course...
  9. When Mushroom Fever hit in Y2K no party was safe. In the years that have passed since Converting Vegetarians converted most psytrance fans away from the group, there have been countless imitators. After hearing the Principles of Flight album today I thought to wonder about all the amateur artists that have taken Infected Mushroom as their prime inspiration, as evidenced by that distinctive combination of Gothic/classical melodies and tricky filtered rhythms... can you name a few? A list off the top of my head: early Rastaliens, SynSun (1st album), Talpa, The Misted Muppet, Planum, Bubble, Nystagmus, Principles of Flight... anyone else? Or perhaps you disagree with some of the artists I have identified? Well, let's hear it
  10. Yes, for example... no Rezwalker!!
  11. It is not a best of... more like rarities and bonus material really, akin to Chi-A.D.'s Infinitism. I would imagine it is remastered but can anyone confirm?
  12. No time? Imagine... I have been on a mission to rip every CD in my collection to WAV for storage on a fat new hard drive I bought recently...
  13. I have made well over 25 custom compilations from Beatport downloads, vinyl rips, random tracks from otherwise shitty compilations, promos in WAV format, and whatever else I find lying around... For example, my most recent custom compilation: Deviant Species - Balojax (Rinkadink Remix) Color Drops - Jazz Is Dead Aphid Moon - Superfly Tim Schuldt - Stand and Drift Audialize - Full On Chaos Magic (corrected version without error) Talamasca - Ghost in Goa Logic Bomb - Shadow of the Beast (Psypilot Remix) Logic Bomb - Magic Fingers Mumbo Jumbo - Mysterons (Annarchy vs Dickster Remix) Transdriver - Nutcracker Good for DJing basically...
  14. Guilty until proven innocent! The trance scene has heaps of homophobia as well, so I guess I wouldn't be surprised.
  15. This happened to me just a couple weeks ago! I was flipping through my binder and shards of FX and Sensum came tumbling out. Vinyl warps, CDs snap into pieces. Bizarro!
  16. I was bored. http://www.ektoplazm.com/projects/the-wisdom-of-ale/
  17. Question: where can I find Aes Dana's best low-bpm trance stuff like Digitalys? Does he have more like that? I really enjoy it but don't quite know where to start. Audiogalaxy would fix my problem, alas!
  18. I would appreciate a "Best of Ale" thread some day... this guy is so monotonous it becomes absurdly hilarious. MONOTONOUS LIKE PROGRESSIVE TRANCE THAT IS.
  19. Wow I don't even know why I tried to help maybe I am getting good karma, as I walked into a record shop around here where they sell lots of hip-hop and commercial house music on the off chance they might have the new Trentemoller album, but instead I found Art of Trance - Wildlife On One... brand new! It must have been sitting there all these years because there was nothing else remotely like it... lovely album. Of course, it brings back some memories of one of my very first gigs, dropping Mosquito to open a tribal Goa trance set under the stars on the Niagara escarpment... an hour into my set a meteor shower peaked... it made for a nice moment, but you may now return to your regularly scheduled flame war.
  20. Butterfly Trip and Celestial Groove are not like the other Astral Projection tracks. Radi, you have heard Sativa, Reaching Out, and We Are Controlling Transmission from the SFX Unreleased album? There are not so many tracks like this I find, but try out Cosmosis - Deus, the old Simon Berry-Platipus classics, and maybe some of Man With No Name's epic trance remix work (Dream Universe, Greece 2000, Sun, Atlantis, etc)...
  21. Whatever you say, Captain Fussypants.
  22. Do you support yourself or do you live with your parents still? Do you have a day job that pays all the bills? For many artists, making music IS their day job...
  23. I am still looking to buy the ltd. edition 2xCD version online somewhere... any suggestions?
