I think I would have to side with the Etnica/Pleiadians/Crop Circles fetishists... good mention should be give to the Passenger remix of MFG - Process Irreversible, P.Cok - Double Doper, and some of Filteria's stuff as well.
Purchase... some new stuff from saiko, but I also raided their system for oldies in new condition. TIP, Atomic, BNE, Phonokol, whatever else I could get my hands on...
I still support calling it "psycore" (which I think is a better description, since these tracks are more focused on being hard than dark) but few people picked it up... darkpsy it is, I guess!
Welcome to the forum do not feed the trolls. No need to use the search here - every time a question is asked over again there might be all kinds of new responses that weren't covered in the first case. Isratrance has this strict rule but psynews is more of a free-for-all.
I am trying to sort out what you mean by the "crazy" beat... are there specific times in the track, or do you mean the rhythm in general? You might be talking about the high-pitched kicks, or something else - it's not too clear over here... ok for example, do you know the track Cor! by the Green Nuns? Is this anything like what you are looking for?
What I'm missing is something new that scratches the Cydonia itch... why is almost all of the darkpsy stuff about torrential noise and wobble-headed bass line games? It just starts to sound like background music from video games - not dark at all.
No worries though... this is why I dusted off King of New York, April Fools, and In Fear of a Red Planet just recently... one gets bored of waiting for thing to grow up a bit.
Ok ok, bitchy post... so in fairness I gotta say Penta rocks my socks and knows how to keep it truly dark and psychedelic.
What's wrong with that? They do.
For what its worth Frank'e kept Toronto going for four hours straight, all the way until the venue owner freaked out and started flipping the lights on. Even then, it didn't stop him from playing an encore and keeping that crowd happy he's a nice guy, let's see what he'll come up with.
I heard Frank E spin a four hour set here in Toronto very recently... I couldn't quite discern the new material, but there were some absolutely crazy tunes in that set. The new stuff is Koxbox with a dance floor edge - so don't expect another Dragon Tales. If you are familiar with some of the new singles (Oscillocore, Inside Every Man, 911) you might start to get an idea of what the new album might be like. Psychedelic techtrance at 145? Sounds good to me.
That's the one... so I'm not going crazy. Funny track. But no one does psychedelic hip-hop like Amit "Count Chocula" Duvdevani.
Actually, I do have a track I can name as worst ever... Skazi's brutal remix of I Wish. Even more painful than mere knowledge of this track's existence was how many times I heard it at parties a couple years back... argh.
How could anyone forget this one?!?!

Aha... but seriously. I never was an Atmos fan, but there is one project of his that still delights me to this day (and never gets any mention). Echölab · Real Delay - click for my review...
