Yes, it's great! I'm trying in vain to base a mix around it (tough work, surprisingly) so I can share with you two other solid tracks which should go: Bus - Bambi and Thumper Element - Drop D Peace.

I always considered showing up at shows with a vinyl for an artist to sign, years ago... I think a lot of artists would take a dim view of this however. Nonetheless, I do have one signed vinyl in my collection, from Kerry Palmer of Dimension 5. It's the Ganymede EP, with a nice message in silver ink. I am glad to own it

Imagine my surprise when I go to search and find no review of this excellent album! To remedy this situation I decided to copy and paste my own review from http://www.ektoplazm.com/reviews/blt-danny...nything-u-want/ 01 :: Mind the Gap 02 :: The Calling (Live Edit) 03 :: Anything U Want 04 :: The Rain Song 05 :: Graceful Dead 06 :: Patterns Of… 07 :: Space Boogie (Missionary Mix) 08 :: Epitaph Full review here: http://www.ektoplazm.com/reviews/blt-danny...nything-u-want/

What is it with this album? I bought it on vinyl from a local shop when someone pointed out it had a psychedelic thing going for it... always enjoyed it, seldom listen to it though. Back then they called this "nu-skool breaks" at the shop though. I wonder if that term is still used for anything.

I didn't bother previewing - I'm quite sure I'll like this, given that Claw/Paranoize tracks are usually the highlight of any darkpsy release. More of the same? Sure, bring it on!

01 :: Vatos Locos - Innovato [Dragonfly] 02 :: Matenda - Force Majeure [Flow] 03 :: Cosma - People on Hold [Hom-mega] 04 :: S>Range - Microchip 23 [spirit Zone] 05 :: BLT & Danny Makov - News [iboga] 06 :: Chromosome - Borderlines [Y.S.E.] 07 :: Ace Ventura - Cardiac Arrest (Zen Mechanics Remix) [iboga] 08 :: FREq - Cosmic Nature [Z.M.A.] 09 :: Natural Flow - Flying Toasters [Groove Zone] 10 :: Jaïa - From Tokyo [Digital Structures] 11 :: Magnetrixx - Syntex [AP] 12 :: Silver Surfers - Mudjaji (Protoculture Remix) [Nano] 13 :: Psypilot - Full Om [Turbo Trance] 14 :: Orion - Groove Control [solstice] 15 :: Mr. Peculiar - Crystal Energy [sonic Dragon] 16 :: Blue Planet Corporation - Alidade (Wizzy Noise Remix) [Candyflip] This is the sound of summer: sixteen upbeat tracks smoothly mixed into a journey that softly builds from thoughtful grooves towards an energetic peak. The introduction is purposefully sedate, though Cosma's song rapidly catalyzes the emotive power of the developing storyline. The mix keeps on pumping steadily until Jaïa's From Tokyo, when a funky tribal twist alters the trajectory and sends the mix spiralling up into the full-on morning trance style of Psypilot and Mr. Peculiar. The last track is a winning remix of an old classic which is sure to leave one with a lingering sense of residual warmth and satisfaction. Heliocentric is my second shot at a harmonic mix, blending melodies in complimentary keys for the majority of the transitions between tracks. This allows me to mix for longer periods of time, enriching the flow with a greater degree of musicality. Enjoy! This isn't isratrance. Maybe something new will come up on this fresh topic.

I'm also a fan, and it's too bad they disappeared. Their unreleased tunes were really good too. Hopefully they'll be released some day...

This is another call out to see if ANYONE has a better version of this song... there was a 128k version floating around on audiogalaxy way back when, but I've never heard better. Anyone know if a better recording is lying around anywhere?

Hallucinogen is fantastic... if you don't get it, I'm sorry for you. You're missing out! Interesting corollory: I never liked Etnica for the first two years of listening to trance... I disliked their style intensely. Then it opened up! I grew to really appreciate them. Same goes for minimal and techtrance when it came out - I downright hated the stuff for the first couple years, with a few exceptions I used to post up all the time (P.Cok's Liquid Lunch and some late-period Slinky Wizard)... so who knows, perhaps you will change your mind later - or maybe never? Enjoy what you like and forget the rest.

Hey, no worries... I've spoken about the story every now and then, but never really hammered it all out for public viewing. Now it's there, if people go looking for it. Two new posts on the main page today, including the debut of my pal Emil's Soundescape radio show with Colin of O.O.O.D. You guys every heard of a psytrance podcast before? Check my blog for general updates, including a few new reviews (BLT, anyone?)... Peace.

Hey, a moderately good-natured thread I also believe that getting any of the dummy work out of the way just increases time available for the more creative aspects of DJing. Having BPMs handy is also important for harmonic mixing, which I try to keep within a +/-2 BPM range. I think it helps a lot that I learned on vinyl, with no reference to BPM, without any time-saving tools or special technique. I had the raw essence of the music drilled into me... but it's not necessary to remain so low-tech. Any time-saving measures instituted on aspects of the craft which aren't part of the creative mileau of DJing seem like a good idea to me.

NO NO NO NO NO! Use EAC for all CD ripping! LAME to encode your mp3s. Also, does anyone have Mauri's emaill address? If I had permission from the source I'd totally share. I don't have any strong appreciation for the exclusivity of music; I just don't wanna do anything against the wishes of the artists, roight. PS Windows Media Player... are you people for real?

At long last, my site is back... some of you have figured this out already, I'm sure the URL: http://www.ektoplazm.com/ For international visitors, gigabytes of free music awaits you, with much more to come. Review readers would be interested to know that most of my own work is now exclusive to my site, and isn't posted around anywhere else, so drop by to read up on some of my recommendations if you like. I'll also be writing about trance and technology in my blog, with a few feature articles to come. Anyone in North America - especially Canada - should check it out for the event listings and regional database. The site is delivered with an RSS feed as well, for those of you that make use of such technology, and is home to a BitTorrent tracker. It was a lot of work getting this site together, and I'm trying to do something a bit different (with a definate emphasis on original content) so drop by some time and browse around! Peace.

Etnica has soooo many unreleased/reworked tunes but the Vimana rmx is the only really good one, imho. Too bad I am also not authorized to pass it on because I swore the oath keep searching; it's worth it.

Did you first hear psytrance on mp3 or on a cd?
Basilisk replied to cangrejo's topic in General Psytrance
I would imagine that my geographic location and interest in technology from a young age contributed to MP3 being the vector by which I heard my first trance music... the web site was The Temple, and it hosted samples of various electronic music releases i.e. 3 or 4 tracks plucked from a CD and encoded at 128kbps. I remember Deviant Electronics - Catharsis was one of the very first tunes, as well as some MWNN, Hallucinogen, and Astral Projection. If it weren't for this, perhaps I wouldn't be here now, 10 years later... -
Your argument is highly persuasive, I must admit. No - wait, your message has absolutely no substance and you didn't back anything up. Righty then!

You have a fundamental lack of understanding with regards to free speech and the internet. This is someone's site, although as an online community the members naturally grow to exert a sense of ownership over it. However it may seem to you, this is still being operated, maintained, and paid for by individuals - not the community at large. Your sense that you have a right to express opinions here is false; it's a priviledge to be here. The pragmatic reality of things are, despite the lack of intrinsic freedoms, we are all expressing our opinions anyway - in large numbers, with some degree of conflict and tension, without much tact or mutual respect at times. What this means is that although the site does not gaurantee free speech, we as users are enjoying near-total freedom, with the easy alternative of visiting any other forum to express ourselves if we feel confined here. There will always be another place that lets you say whatever ignorant, racist, bigoted, prejudiced, unnecessary nonsense you may feel like spewing out to the world. Cinos is lucky that way, while the admin team here at Psynews undergoes no shortage of grief for exerting some control over their own fucking site. The people who actually do have the rights and freedoms have a difficult time expressing them, while all of us who do not are perpetually making use of freedoms we don't technically have, except at the courtesy of the site owners. This is the nature of human behavior in group settings online.
