  1. Hold up a minute, I like this style... I just think these comps are pretty low on the quality scale, and that's mainly due to this superficial style with lots of killer breaks and such. Well, I'm mainly thinking of Yes or No, which is the one I recently gave several listens to. Darkpsy that is neither dark nor psy is pretty dumb if you ask me.
  2. I think this sound is nonsense... most "darkpsy" which is really just hardbag with low quality control. There's like one or two good tracks per release, and then a lot of aimless blasters. Psykovsky's the only one I snagged I think.
  3. The same problem applies - shitty sample usage. I cannot fathom how anyone can tolerate it. The music's all right.
  4. A Question of choice is an everlasting question for all human beings... Choosing... ...'Yes or No' - you'll get non-compromises, shocking extra-power result. On this CD Vertigo crew have gathered artists with the common reputation of the nighttime killers. You'll discover time stretching compositions of The Nommos, Cosmo, Osom (sounds of KinDzaDza and Psykovsky), Adrenal Glands (of Zik), The Many Face (of Jelly and Dejan), Terminator (Zolod) feat. DarkShire, Furious, Highko, Silent Horror and Encaphalopaticys are here. Most part of these tracks is 150 bpm No play - no game Welcome to Nowhereland... This compilation dedicates to all the super mega renegades, who has changed the quiet routine life to this magic world. To all whos expanding the borders of our and all other worlds by their search of new impressions. To all who dont need languages to understand each other. To all who has found themselves and great happiness, where the rest people see nothing Push the play button to feel the truth of it. Timeless Flash compilation inhabits a clandenstine yet beautiful mysteryous world of HI-NRG psytrance. Featuring 9 brand new unreleased psychedelic powerful cuts, narrated by the inner space pilots from Russia, France, USA combining genius and madness in one unique psy-trance concept warming the hearts of trance lovers, like bangers and their friends Everything that happens in this world is a reality. Vertigo has some of the killerest promo on the scene no doubt.
  5. I rooted around and find that the site is still kickin at: http://www.pasilankaista.com/tattari++/ANT...index/index.htm Bizarro!
  6. The samples ruin this one completely... 50+ time repeating a vacuous phrase is liable to do that. I like Neelix but his sample usage drives me up the wall sometimes.
  7. Yeah I'm not too sure honestly - I've heard explanations this way and that. It feels like a metal disc anyway, no give in it, hard surface.
  8. Amsterdam gets a lot of travellers... I'm sure you can whip up some kind of creative fake ID from the far off republic of Mu or something.
  9. No... it's what they're called in some circles. Also, acetates. Never vinyl, although it may look like one. Years back I had one made up when I was staunchly refusing to mess with CD decks there were a couple tracks I really wanted access to however - Nuclear Ramjet's La Chevauchee Fantastique and Jaia's Mai Mai. It costed about a hundred bucks to get made and the sound quality would rapidly get worse if I actually played it often. I think the needle touched it maybe five times, most notably for my sunday morning set at a local festival in 2001. The disc itself is a 10", remarkably heavy, completely stiff with no bend in it... because it's metal, you dig? Not vinyl.
  10. Are you thinking of dub plates perhaps?
  11. As usual I agree with pr0fane. In addition, I only really liked "Restore My Soul" from Antistat, and a few tracks here and there from Passages. I think Stereopark is the top album of the bunch. They have some amazing singles, but I don't find Midi Miliz puts that kind of material on their albums... Cyclic Structures for example. Brilliant tune! Back in the day I really got into Cream as well...
  12. Some early Process tunes have a production value I don't relish... same thing goes for X-1. Sounds like aliens farting in a tin can, you know?
  13. Disagreed, this one's amongst their best... it was an early purchase for me (something like 3rd or 4th CD I owned) and I really grew into all these tunes. Only the Process doesn't do it for me.
  14. I gave it many chances, but ultimately I can't say I like this release all that much. The original is far superior imho. Lovely cover however!
  15. Sounds like Midijum to me.
  16. It's more of a sound than a subgenre.
  17. I live somewhere where I don't get the chance to see too many psytrance acts play live... we get about 10 to 20 names through here each year, but it's still not that much. What I'm interested in hearing is qualified opinions about how good an act is live... by that I suppose all I'm asking is that you have a good ear and weren't high as fuck when the group did their show I don't know about anyone else, but seeing as how I usually know the source material very well, I have a good ear for telling whether it's a real show with a live element or just a canned performance. For my own experience, Juno Reactor still ranks #1 and probably won't ever be topped. Midi Miliz and FREq also put on great live shows out here. As for the list of disappointing live shows I've seen, well, there's no real shortage... Antix was especially dull when I heard one of the brothers this year - he played seven tracks from the new album for his live, in a slightly different order, but did not otherwise do much of anything at all to my knowledge. That's my definition of a dull live performance. Contrast that to Aren, who pitched up some of his groovier songs to 140, added layers, and whether or not he was doing anything right there on-the-fly the music was remarkably different and highly suited for the dancefloor. That's a good live show I'd say. So I'm curious about Magnetrixx and Penta... what are they like to hear live? And who have you seen that really impressed you? I think we can leave most of the cases of bad lives out of here, I'm sure there is no shortage for discerning fans
  18. What I've always wanted to see is two DJs, three mixers, and four decks. The extra mixer is to control which DJ has the system, and can also be left in the middle for mad turntable tricks. You'd have to mess with minimal/prog/techtrance though.
  19. No one has the story? Does anyone know if Broadband Pasuuna 3 was their last release before going offline? I was really pleased they were finally putting wave files up there... let's hope they make a comeback
  20. This was my random impulse purchase with the order I just put through... hope it's good, but I have no idea what to expect

  23. 01 :: Ninja - Showtime [Oxygen] 02 :: Mr. Peculiar - Alien Mushrooms [spirit Zone] 03 :: Lemurians - Phrygian [shiva Space Technology] 04 :: Orion - Rolling Stone [solstice] 05 :: Dark Soho - Away [Alchemy] 06 :: Psysex & Infected Mushroom - Dirty 80s (Wrecked Machines Remix) [Hom-Mega] 07 :: Logic Bomb - Marauder 2 [TIP World] 08 :: Sesto Sento - Primi TB [Compact] 09 :: Menog - Emotions [spectral] 10 :: Infected Mushroom - Facing [Vision Quest] 11 :: Meller - Valhalla [Tribal Vision] 12 :: Wizzy Noise - Majestic Wisdom [spun] 13 :: The Higher Human Form - I Hear Them Call [Z.M.A.] Composed as an experiment in harmonic mixing, the style is a curious blend of contrasts, exploring dark and light, soft and driven, all while remaining highly melodic. Ninja’s Showtime kicks it off, involving the listener in a deep fusion of full-on energy and balanced atmospheric sounds. The gothic character of the mix becomes apparent by the time Dark Soho’s track slides in. The keystone is Logic Bomb’s Marauder 2, the strongest example of the yin and yang contrasts evident throughout the tale. Soon the mix takes a deeper turn, diving into the holy choirs of Infected Mushroom’s Facing and mysterious atmospheres of Meller’s Valhalla. The story concludes with The Higher Human Form’s I Hear Them Call, an ethereal comedown which aptly summarizes the sacred themes of the mix. 24. Attention! The .torrent has been revised. This means any existing seeders/leechers should stop their transfers! This is due to the issue with Intriga's track - it has now been removed from the .torrent (and Phobos Azazel's has been added). The URL is the same to avoid duplication, but the package is different. If you still wish to help out and seed, you will need to download the whole directory over again. Sorry about that. Download speeds should rise as the new version proliferates. http://www.ektoplazm.com/tracker/torrents/...06)_MP3.torrent
